This place is amazing. The staff and ROBERTO are all so friendly and the food is awesome. If you like soup definitely get the chicken soup huge bowl to can easily share will start the chicken fajitas they were very good and the salsa was off the hook you’ve got to have good salsa to have a good Mexican restaurant. There’s a patio outside if you like to eat out I’m not from around here and it’s a cute little neighborhood

I eat here all the time and the food and service is consistently good! And they have an impressive selection of fine tequilas too. I love the Mi Tierra margarita on the rocks with salt. The owner Roberto is there nearly every night greeting his guests and helping them feel at home. I can’t get enough! One of my favorite dishes is the Rajitas Poblanas with Shrimp (and Steak is amazing too). I also love the fajitas. The veggie mix they use is great, not just your traditional bellpepper and onions. They add broccoli, carrots, and mushrooms too. Yum!

Food that adheres to Mexican standards of taste. Very impressive quality in all the items we tried: Birria, ceviche, guacamole and Tequila.
Lots of screens to watch games, loved the cocktails and ambiance.
I’m looking forward to trying the guided Tequila tastings.

I’ve been here twice for drinks and appetizers on weeknights and both experiences were fun so I’m happy I have a new casual option to meet friends at. I’ve tried their tasty and fresh guacamole and hot, melty queso dip. Both go great with a pitcher of margaritas to share. The place was decently packed both times and it looked to be a lively mix of nearby workers and locals enjoying happy hour or a bite to eat after work. Convenient to CalTrain in case you want to meet folks who commute that way.

Get the Carnitas nachos, they’re absolutely delicious!!! The carnitas is perfectly spiced and slightly crispy just like it should be. Nom nom nom!!!
Oh and Roberto is a treat, always a Gentleman and greeting everyone.

Congrat’s Roberto for breaking off into your own. The food is on point. The hubby had a steak burrito and the meat was so well cooked tender. I was pretty full but enjoyed the fact they make real deal pinto beans, chili’s on the side and the flavors are great. A mix of fun local regulars and techies, it’s a winner.

Was served an amazing margarita from the bar, got to talking to the really friendly bartender. Come to find out it was the owner Roberto and he was an awesome friendly dude. He is so nice and makes an amazing Cadillac margarita. Go check this place out!

Diners beware! Check your credit card statement after you purchase food from this establishment. I ordered takeout and paid the food with a credit card. The staff at the restaurant added gratuity to my tab without my approval.
The food was decent, but I will not be returning due to fraudulent business practices and poor customer service.

Omg soooo good! I didn’t know what to expect when I saw this restaurant on Murphy, but after reading some of the reviews here on Unilocal I decided to try it tonight and wow was it good! My bf and I ordered it to go on the phone and the person who took our order was really nice and helped us pick out what to order. We are pescatarian so I was really happy to see some fish tacos, shrimp, and vegetarian options on the menu. We tried the fish tacos (so good!!), vegetarian quesadilla (delish, and it comes with guacamole!), and the scallops appetizer (we ordered w/​o bacon, amazinggg). Oh and the order came with really tasty chips and TWO kinds of delicious salsa, red and green. Quite spicy, but I couldn’t stop eating it so there you go. Delicious pain :). Can’t wait to go back!

Amazing and delicious! I had the mango margarita here last night while I was watching the Warriors game and it was simply the best ever! The server was so sweet & helpful– not only did she explain the difference between a blended and on the rocks margarita with me (one can taste the alcohol more when it’s «on the rocks»)– she kept checking back with me and my friend to see if we needed more chips. For appetizers, we had the guacamole and cheese quesadilla. They also had 2 types of salsa~ so much fun! The green one had onions and cilantro, and the red one was hella spicy so I avoided that. Anyway, back to my mango margarita! I am a huge fan of anything & everything mango and this one was nice, slushy, and fruity! And I felt tipsy after just one. Perfect! This place is in downtown SV and I will be back again in the future. Good times! And the Warriors won too :)

Good mole and yummy chicken wet burrito! I thought I didn’t like wet burritos, but after coming here, I LOVE them.
I also like the price point for the food. Definitely a place to become a regular.

First time trying this place. We’ve always walked by it. Glad we did! Service was a awesome. They were very fast in arranging a bigger table for us. Chips and salsa came within a minute of being seated. I had the two item combo carne asada taco and carnitas tamales! So flavorful and the portions are generous. My husband had the carnitas plate and he loved it. My daughter tried the chicken soup and it was so yummy! So much flavor and it had rice included in the soup which made it filling. Also had a pitcher of the sangria. Definitely recommend this place and we will go back for sure!

Well, Don roberto, the owner of the cantina helped me and his service was great, it was my first time there, i think i have a good time there, he was very kind and he always paying attention to the clients and very friendly, like I said, i decided it was a good day for a tequila and you know is always good to check new places, so I decided to try it, with his friendly attitude and kindness, i will definitely Come back!!!

I was already a happy customer when I walked in and got seated immediately. The food came out super fast, was delicious, no mistakes despite several modifications. I left satisfied and I look forward to going there again.

Came here for a work lunch with my boss and was really impressed. They were super busy during the lunch hour but we were greeted and seated right away. The chips and salsa were great, a light green salsa and semi spicy red salsa.
I ordered the two taco plate, carne Asada and chicken on corn tortillas with rice/​black beans. The food was fantastic, both meats were cooked, and seasoned perfectly. I have been to DT Sunnyvale before and I am surprised i missed this restaurant. If you are in the mood for some great Mexican food look no further than Roberto’s. Oh and they have a huge tequila list if you just want to drink the day away. Enjoy!

It’s rare sometimes to find a place with EXCELLENT food and EXCELLENT friendly customer service! This place is my fav mexican food place by far! Love the atmosphere here! Long live Roberto’s! Love you!

Very decent spot for Mexican. I didn’t try the ceviche or shrimp cocktail because I’d just gotten back from LA and just assumed I’d be disappointed. But I’ll be back to try them another time. Their margarita was excellent, and I liked the chips, though the sauces didn’t stand out a ton. I did my usual combo of enchilada and chile relleno. I didn’t like the enchilada as much, though it was decent. The steak was dry and the enchilada kinda fell apart. The chile relleno was better. I liked the flavor of the sauce though it was a bit too watery to really stick to the food. Still, everything was very good if not great.

My boyfriend and I live two blocks down the street and there’s a lot of restaurants to choose from on Murphy St. but we continuously pick Roberto’s over the rest.
The entire staff is kind, attentive, and focused on providing you with a great meal and experience each and every time. The food is great and you can’t beat their chips and salsa either.
On my 9^th or so visit I accidentally ordered a wrong cocktail that I confused for another and simply didn’t drink it. On my way out they chased after me and asked if I didn’t like it. We explained my confusion and they promised my next cocktail was on the house even though it was my mistake and not theirs. Sure enough, next time we came back my first drink was complimentary. Although we would have continued our obsession regardless of this kind gesture, it was truly a testament to their great service.
We love this place and will continue bringing visitors to eat here and share one of our favorite restaurants.

To add, house margarita was a little one the rough side. That said, I think we’re spoiled by Peppers in Pacific Grove.

This place is coo. I wanted dish dash but they are closed on Sundays. I got their chicken soup and expected the thick orangish chicken and corn soup but it was more of like chicken noodle soup with clear broth. It has rice, chicken, and avocado and is quite filling cuz the bowl is huge. Meal comes with free chips and salsa. Pretty standard.
