Very kind and fast service. Shreaded beef apt tacos lacked flavor but still good. Could have used more spice. Salsa options were good. Green one was my favorite. The sangria was tastey. I would come back.

Man Im still catching up with reviews for places that have closed like a year ago. Before this was El Farollito which was pretty good. In fact one of my Mexican friends would only eat there menudo there. When it closed it was sadness. Valle Sol was decent for a sit down place, more upscale than the taquerias like Ruby’s and Latina, but the food was never as satisfying. Though the one thing the taquerias they dont have is tequila and that is something you can surly get wrecked on here

Came her on a Saturday afternoon for a family party of 20 – 30 people, service was fast and friendly Tried the Enchildas Suizas and Enchiladas Rancheras nothing to write home about but overall A-ok

I am always craving Mexican food, so I walk here for dinner maybe once a week. Overly fancy overpriced Mexican is far too easy to find in this area, but ValleSol is both affordable and delicious. I have never been disappointed with the food here. Chile verde to the spinach enchiladas. Fish tacos to the tostadas. It’s all delicious. There are even a number of tasty vegetarian items. The staff is always friendly and speedy unless it is a crowded night. They even saved my leftovers that I left on the table once!

I’ve never had a good meal here, but I’ve come back multiple times thinking: maybe it was an «off night» or maybe I was in a bad mood? Every time I’ve gotten terrible service and ordinary food. The only time I’ve ever gotten decent attention from a server here was when it was crowded(who knows why?) and they wanted our table – then the rude waitress couldn’t push us out fast enough. It’s pretty difficult to mess up Mexican food, but Vallesol manages to do it daily. You owe it to yourself to avoid this place. My Mexican food standards are high, but I would never send anyone here.

Want some down-home, comfort Mexican food? This is the place to go. Where you can order a taco or a burrito and get a delicious taco or burrito and sit on the patio and people-watch. I would highly recommend this place if you’re looking for some delicious mexican comfort food.

Great service, good(if typical) Mexican food. The girl and I went here for lunch on a weekday, and we both left full, happy, and thoroughly impressed. The service was excellent – very attentive, quick, and efficient. She had the burrito plate and I had the chimichanga. Not really groundbreaking fare, but if you’re in the mood for Mexican, this will more than satisfy you. Prices are reasonable, about what you’d expect for a lunch on Murphy St. The service here is what stands out for me. We got our dishes probably 2 – 3 minutes after ordering, and somebody was always coming by with a water refill.

We came back for dinner the other night and it was such a pleasure. I ordered Chili Relleno with Beef and my husband got Spinach Enchiladas. Both were tasty and perfectly made. Margarita was perfect! Muchas Gracias Valle Sol y Lupe!

Can someone say homemade horchata?!? :) I already liked ValleSol and now I like them even more … Our waiter was awesome and let me take my free refill of horchata to-go(thanks Luis!) — the creamy, rice water drink was made even creamier by way of milk being added(I like it when it isn’t just rice water) and the cinnamon wasn’t overpowering. It was a great companion to my spinach enchiladas, but I do think that the Enchiladas Rancheras are still a standout. Love ya, ValleSol!

This place was tried upon the recommendation from another friend and let me just say that this place is amazing. It’s really not the biggest place and you have to park a little ways away and walk there, but it’s definitely worth it. Situated in downtown Sunnyvale, it’s in a quiet area(when there’s no construction going on around) and has a nice, simple atmosphere when you enter in. The wait staff is so kind and really make it a priority to treat you well. Their chips are nicely fried and the salsa is definitely refreshing. For dinner, I had a nice combo with a couple enchiladas, a beef burrito, and a chile relleno. They are all so good! It’s difficult to find great Mexican food after having lived in San Diego, but this definitely is a great place to try if you haven’t gone yet.

Sooo… these Unilocalers were definetly not lying about the lack of service at this place. I had to ask if I could seat myself when I first walked in, nobody seemed to notice I was standing there. The salsas that come with the chips are kinda nasty, the green one tastes like chunky balsamic vinegar. I must say the margarita was impressive($ 4.25 during happy hour) It was very strong and very lightly sweetend, which is a huge plus because I hate when drinks get all sugary and syrupy. Their food did make up for their extreme lack of attentive service… I had the SPINACHENCHILADAS! Two enchiladas smoothered in sauce and cheese, with a mini iceburg lettuce salad topped with thousand island dressing(weird) and rice/beans. $ 10.95 Probably wouldn’t go back unless it was for the margaritas. The whole experience took about 1 hr 20 min for 3 people on a tuesday night

Reasonably priced, large selection of food, 2 kinds of salsa and a bowl of chips. Cheaper drinks and bar type food for happy hour 5 ’til 7pm. This place can get packed at lunch so come early if you want quiet.

Valle Sol is a family run restaurant with a varied menu full of Mexican-American standards plus a few South American dishes. I love the quesadillas — they’re full of gooey cheese and tasty meat, and presented artistically on a square plate. Chimichanga is good, too. Tried the enchiladas once or twice — kinda«meh». Next time I visit I will try the parrillado, a mixed grill platter for two. It looks huge and delicious. Chips are served with two salsas for dipping. The green is bland but the red sauce is flavorful and medium spicy. Service has been great, very attentive especially on our most recent visit. The waitress accommodated our special orders politely and accurately, and kept our drinks filled.

I strolled into this lively place for a to go lunch order and was greeted by friendly staff, cool music and packed house. I ordered up a chicken burrito to go and it was swiftly delivered in about 5 minutes. I guess the shredded chicken is already cooked and sitting in a bin? Oh well, it is really yummy. My bag of treats included chips and two different kinds of salsa. I’ve been sticking to the red one because it has a good punch to it. I’d definitely go back here again for margaritas and see how the dinner menu holds up. Yumminess for $ 6.50 isn’t bad at all! Yum, yum, yum!

Very generous portions. It’s in downtown Sunnyvale in a very nice, clean restaurant that looks elegant and classy. They automatically bring you chips with both chili verde and red hot salsa. And they come in these little pouring glasses which are great and clean to prevent double dipping and wasting too. We weren’t that hungry so shared a platter with a steak burrito and shredded chicken enchiladas. The meat was a bit dry for my taste, as were the rice and beans. It wasn’t bad, but not the best quality food. Plentiful though. For the $ 11 platter you couldn’t really complain. It’s not for one person though — WAY too much food, even for me.

Came her for a birthday dinner and had a great time. The service was great, very friendly and accommodating. Everyone working here was all smiles, which is nice to see: D We had a party of about 14 ppl, so I was able to see a lot of different entrees come out, and everything looked great! They provide chips and 2 kinds of salsa which helps for those who don’t want spicy salsa. They also have horchata! I had the flautas, and although they were good, it was a little disappointing seeing how small they were. My boyfriend had the chimichanga, which is basically this big ol’ deep fried burrito. He loved it. Didnt get a chance to try their margaritas, but they looked good. The bar area here is also really nice. Very spacious. I need to try their happy hour next time.

That was the best burrito I’ve ever had! I don’t know how they cook the chicken, but it was amazing. Due to construction out front, it’s hard to tell how cute this place is. But it is very cute inside. We sat in the back so we could be away from people. Even though we were the only people in the back, the servers did not forget about us. Everything was quick, and our water was refilled regularly. I had the combination plate with a chicken burrito. The rice and beans were kinda boring, but fine. But the chicken in the burrito was so great that as long as I mixed some in with the rice and beans, then everything was great. I split a chocolate lava cake, and it was so good. I really wanted a margarita, but I didn’t want to be the only one at the table drinking, so I passed. They did look good though! If I am ever in this area again, I would certainly be happy to go back to ValleSol!

It took me some time to finally try ValleSol, since with so many great taquerias nearby I couldn’t find out a reason to go here. After a few visits here, I still can’t come up with one, since the food is subpar and overpriced. That was really their primary problem, since everything else was fine: The setting is relaxing and warm; The service is friendly and attentive; The menu is extensive, hitting all the usual options and more; Chips and salsa are automatically served to the table(though the salsa was bland). Here’s a summary of my two lunches at ValleSol: – Chicken mole poblano: Though preparation took forever, the chicken and mole sauce obviously had no contact until they met on the plate; No sign of marinating or simmering beforehand. The result was one of the worst mole poblanos I have had; Not to mention the chicken was slightly overcooked and dry; The mole sauce itself was underpowered with a slightly bitter aftertaste. Beans were absolutely flavorless and rice was overcooked. And for $ 13 plus tax/tip, I definitely didn’t get what I paid for. 2 stars. – Combo plate(Taco + enchilada): Smallish plate dominated by beans(flavorless again) and rice(overcooked again). The carnitas taco(which I had to pay a dollar extra for) was dry, dry, dry. The salad was fresh but lackluster. The chicken enchilada was tasty and by far the best thing on the plate. The total cost was $ 15.40 incl tax/tip. Or in simple terms: twice what you would pay at one of the better taquerias in the area, though not as good. ValleSol currently enjoys a 3.5 rating on Unilocal.I hereby submit my vote to reduce it.

3.5 stars for me. Got there early so we wouldn’t have to wait for a table. The place was on the small side with the seating all bunched up in one area. After sitting down, I dug in with some chips and salsa. The light green wasn’t a favorite but I did like the red salsa instead that had some kick to it. I ordered the Tacos Del Sol and a Fish Taco. The food came out ultra quick which made me think that A) the food was already cooked and they warmed it up or B) they were no other orders pending so they cranked ours out first. To the food: The tacos were tasty but I was surprised at how good my fish taco was… and honestly, who can’t resist a good fish taco?(insert joke here). My tacos also came with a fire roasted salsa with them so if you don’t like the two salsas they bring to you in the beginning, ask for the«other» salsa. I may come back here but since we live in a valley full of Mexican restaurants, too many to go, too little time.
