The very first time I had boba tea was in California. I fell in love immediately. Little did I know I’d find better tasting boba here in Florida. I found boba tea in an Asian restaurant and while good I didn’t like the atmosphere. So I searched and found chatime. First things first, when they said it smells like fish in there they’re not kidding lol. I took my five year old inside me and the first thing he did was yell that it stinks in there(embarrassing!). But they’re so nice and accommodating and their selection is pretty big and they also have coffee with boba! I got a lychee green tea boba tea, a mango green tea boba tea and a passion fruit green tea boba tea, they were all delicious. Next time I go I’ll try their coffee drinks. Heads up, they’re a bit pricey but apparently all boba teas are.

I was introduced to boba in LA, found an awesome place in my hometown in South Texas, then found this place when I moved to Florida. I was used to being able to get milk teas with blended ice(slushy type) but they were unable to do the milk tea flavors this way. I only had my debit card and there’s a min. charge of $ 10(take cash!) so I decided to try two flavors: Pearl Milk and Thai Milk Tea, both with boba, iced, and at 30% sweetness. I liked the taste of them both but I think I would’ve preferred them at 50% sweetness instead. I typically like my boba tea a subtle sweetness, but even still, I felt the 30% was too little. The Thai Tea had more flavor. I had no issues with the employees. In fact, there was a female worker who was helpful with the menu and carried conversation with me. As mentioned in other posts, upon entering the NY market, the strong seafood smell is shocking! Either way, I do intend to go back.

Pricey! Yes most pricey Boba I have ever had but I continue to go back because there is no real competition in the area. The tea how ever is excellent and toppings are fresh.

You shouldn’t complain about the meat-fish market smell. Half days, the smell is not bad. Clearly, you haven’t been to Asia or Chinatown, this kind of smell is normal when the boba shops are in the market or next to it. You shouldn’t judge the smell of the market when you are reviewing THEBOBADRINKS. Anyways, this boba place is better a lot of other boba places in broward county. Half of boba places used powder which is nasty and this place doesn’t use powder. The price is not that bad since all drinks are size large. You can get the drinks without the boba pearls. I tried a lot of the drinks, they are mostly good. Most of the smoothies are good, I haven’t try coffee, banana chocolate, and lemon yogurt. The grape slush with fruits inside(instead of boba pearls) didn’t taste good(got the idea from their email and was 20% off with the offer). Banana milk tea drink was alright. Anything green tea and matcha is really good. Same goes for Mousse! Passion fruit green tea drink, Milk tea with grass jelly inside, mango green tea, taro milk drink, plum lemon, jasmine green tea fresh tea, and matcha tea latte. Lychee yogurt qq was little bit weird. Sometimes chatime milk tea is little bit too sweet but still really good. Matcha green tea red bean milk tea is really good but sometimes the red bean is too much on the bottom. The rewards here are good. Every month, the are some great offers they give which you have to activate through your email first. There were times, it was buy one get second one free. Don’t forget to scan your rewards card or sign in with your email or phone number. They do have wifi but please ask nicely because if you do not, they won’t give you half of the time. Please do not order in the few minutes of closing, they have a face saying WHY? There’s not that many tables and chairs to chill so don’t expect much to over chill here.

Finding really good boba in south Florida is difficult. Normally at all those places, the boba pearls aren’t cooked properly, or they only have slush and no milk tea. This place has perfectly cooked boba pearls! Perfectly delicious and chewy! Their milk tea flavors are so good too. Lots of variety, but so tasty. This boba place is inside a Chinese food store so mind the surroundings. Not a big deal since you’re getting such a sweet drink!

South Florida is in desperate need of a good boba tea place. Chatime is a very good option for that milk drink. Located inside the New York Mart, Chatime has a small counter on the left side of the Asian grocery store. They have a small menu, but I have very plain tastes. I only drink regular milk tea with boba pearls. Their regular size is actually very tall and with a fair price of $ 4.50. The milk tea is sweeter than others that I’ve had, but it’s still very tasty and smooth. They put a LOT of boba pearls in your drink, which I do appreciate. You can stop in, get your boba fix, and get some grocery shopping done all at one place! Easy!

When a place that asks for the amount of sugar and ice, that means it’s legit — close to the level of the bubble tea in Taiwan. This place is a pleasant surprise in Lauderhill. I go all the time.

I have come to this Chatime many times now. Besides the overwhelming fishy smell of the Asian grocery store, everything was great. The boba is made fresh. I have learned to just stick with the pearl milk tea. If you want more milk tea and less boba, I recommend asking for less ice and less boba. Use your spot on card or app to earn points for your purchases!

I’m not sure why, but I wasn’t blown away. While customer service was A-OK and my coffee smoothie was delicious, there wasn’t much else to comment on. Yes, it’s in the middle of a fish market and hard to spot, plus there isn’t much seating. I was planning on staying and relaxing(my favorite part of coffee shops), but over the noise and the limited seating, I opted to take it to-go. Like I said, it wasn’t exceptional besides the coffee smoothie, which is why I say it’s A-OK but it won’t become a regular spot for me. There is wi-fi which is a plus, but the signal was not that strong for me(#firstworldproblems, I know). Maybe it’s my fault because I’m pretty sure they’re probably known for their boba and I’m not a fan of boba(wow, I really am a terrible Asian). So don’t let my review discourage you, and still try it out. And yes, like a previous review has mentioned, use the side door!

TIPTIPTIPTIPTIP…(Don’t use the front door. Use the side door!!!) Let me start by saying, it’s inside the Newyork Mart. Their theme for coffee is awesome. The place is in a fish market so it’s not a place to sit and drink. But if you are looking for a place just get the coffee go it’s the place for you. I love the superior blend coffee, it’s keep you up. You can get cold or hot. I like things cold and it’s awesome. To top it off you can put a bubbles in it. I really wish this place was anywhere else but inside this market. And they attract more customers but please give this place a try. You will like this place.

Living in Miami, my bubble tea options were pretty limited and I would have to settle for mediocre bubble tea. Luckily, a friend of mine told me about Chatime and suggested me to go try it out. This Chatime is located on the left side of New York Mart. I ordered the chatime milk tea with boba, grass jelly, and pudding. Omg! It tasted just like Hong Kong and Taiwan! I couldn’t believe that i finally found delicious bubble tea. The boba was cooked to perfection, the milk tea wasn’t too milky or watered down, it was perfect. Not too long ago, I discovered that they have a second location at Sunset Place mall, which is perfect since closer to me and my job!

After much buzz about Chatime, I have been really wanting to come try the boba. Maybe it was over-hyped for me, but I ended up slightly disappointed in a few things. For one, there is only one size aka large. For another, there is a $ 10 credit limit. That’s inconvenient for people like me who rarely carry cash. That means I need to buy 2 drinks that are too large for my liking. Boo. The boba itself was good, though. It wasn’t over or under cooked. I did enjoy my tea as we shopped around the Asian market, but honestly I found more joy in my grocery shopping than in my drink.

Chatime is inside the New York Mart near by the Chinese BBQ area. There’s a side door you can go in that leads you straight there so you don’t have to bypass the main entrance with the strong fishy smell that only somehow comes from Asian super markets. The boba was good and chewy, not over done. The regular milk tea was alright but a tad too milky and not enough black tea flavor. They have other drink combos that I definitely like such as Kumquat(which i love in teas!) but haven’t tried it yet. That’s on my list next time. A large boba tea will set you back between 4 – 5 bucks which about the going rate these days. Small spot for to-go boba.

I was a bit skeptical to see Chatime in America because it’s literally the SAME one from Taiwan. The ones in Taiwan were amazing and if I took a sip of the tea here in America and it’s not the same I might freak out. So…I looked for my usual order, roasted milk tea, and it was there! Ok… so far so good. But I had this fear that I’d see the staff behind the counter whip out a plastic bottle of some sort, spoon out God awful powder that they call«milk tea», shake it up and hand it to me. I watched very carefully while I tried to keep myself from gagging from the grocery store smell. I was happy to see that they make the tea just like people do in Taiwan, it’s fresh tea with… is it called milk powder? And the taste? TASTESLIKETAIWAN! Ah freaking awesome! Customer service wise, uh, are you kidding? It’s a stand in the middle of a Chinese grocery store, don’t ask for too much. Taste? 5 stars. Smell from the grocery store? In the words of my mother, «Get used to it, it’s a Chinese grocery store.» Btw, it’s like 3 – 4 dollars for a bubble tea and you need cash unless you wanna buy enough to meet the 10 dollar minimum to use a credit card. Oh and in Taiwan the tea is like 50NT which converts to about $ 1.50USD lol anyone wanna sign up for a trip to Taiwan?

I had to update my review. I’ve been back numerous times — and I must say walking in through the side entrance makes a HUGE difference. I’ve also found some awesome teas. 1) Mango Tea — 50% sugar — rainbow jellies. WHOA! This is delicious, refreshing and rarely makes it through the drive home. 2) Brown Rice Milk Tea — 80% sugar– BOBA — I really liked this one. The pearls are growing on me! The tea was delicious — there’s a taste I can’t put my finger on, but it’s delicious. I’ll be getting this one again. The staff is also always super on point! Polite, friendly and super fast. Last time I went in they were training — and the owner pointed out that it might be a few extra minutes since the folks were training — it was just as fast as always, I really wouldn’t of noticed these folks were newbies. Look forward to trying a few more flavors in the future.

I will be the first to admit that I am not a connoisseur when it comes to boba teas. I can count on one hand how many I’ve had in my life, and while I’ve enjoyed them, it’s not exactly something I’ve craved. Rather, I’ve just had them when the opportunity has presented itself. After today, however, I could see how I could crave it if they were all as good as the drink I had. After visiting a friend in Sunrise and having no other plans for the afternoon, I remembered reading all of the reviews of this place and quickly searched my Unilocal app. Lo and behold, this place was a mere 1.5 miles away. Serendipitous. Thanks to seeing Blue’s review, saying to look for it in a supermarket(with its own door — thanks, Blue!), I spotted New York Mart easily. I walked in, and the overpowering smell of fish hit me like a ton of bricks. Thank heavens there was no line, because good grief, I don’t know if I could have tolerated that smell for very long. I perused their menu and noticed that they only take credit cards if the charge is over $ 10. I worried for a moment, but thankfully I had just enough cash to cover the drink. I kept it simple and ordered the Chaitime milk tea. The gentleman behind the counter was very friendly, and he patiently explained how I could choose the amount of sugar(I love this idea!), helping me choose the right amount. I didn’t want it to be overly sweet, but I did want some sweetness to keep me awake since I tend to get sleepy in the afternoons before a second wind hits me :) I wavered between 50% and 80% sugar, and opted for 80% this time so I could figure out what balance I’d like. It was perfect for my tastes, although I’m sure the 50% would’ve been just fine too. Now at least I have a baseline to go on for next time. This was a very refreshing drink, and they give you a lot of bobas too. He even told me how they are homemade, and they definitely are tastier and have the perfect chewy consistency versus others I’ve had. The drink only comes in a large size, which was a bit more than I was bargaining for, but I drank it all anyway and it filled me up. It was $ 4.61 in total, and it was a fair price when you consider how big this drink was. Another plus: they put very little ice in here, so you’re not getting the usual Starbucks treatment where you end up paying a lot for a cup that’s three-quarters of the way filled with ice. And since the milk tea comes from a chilled dispenser, the drink doesn’t need a lot of ice to keep it cool. I would give this place 5 stars if not for the horrible fish smell(that I realize they don’t really have any control over) and the credit card minimum. I so rarely have cash on me, so I’m lucky I did today or I would’ve had to leave empty-handed. But now I know, and when I come back(there WILL be a next time), I’ll make sure to have some cash handy for the occasion.

Growing up in LA, Bubble Tea is a fairly common and popular drink. Although in LA the prices for these drinks are fairly cheap as you can find a café shop every where in the Chinese communities. After moving here in South Florida, this is one of the things I missed most about L.A. Even though there have been a few shops that offers these Bubble Teas in the area, they were not very good at all. Thats why I am so glad this popular chain tea shop decided to start the franchise’s down here in South Florida. Located inside one of the new Chinese groceries supermarket in Sunrise, this particular location sits in one corner of the market. Very simple set up: one counter, with one cash register and a machine which seals the lit of the cups sits in the back. Basically its a coffee stand with a few tables. But that doesn’t matter since most people come and get their drinks to go. Taste-wise: well, it came very close to the ones I had in LA. The Bubble in my milk tea was cooked well and soft. Not chewy like most other places that offer the same drink. But, they are not cheap: Almost $ 5.00 for my cup of tea but I guess I cant complaint about it. Until the Bubble Teas starts a new trend in S FL, the prices will not be coming down anytime soon.
