Since Emeritus at Springtree was sold to a company called Brookdale this facility is abominable. The many new managers have allowed this place to become literally unsafe to leave a loved one in. My 89 year old mother lay on the floor twice in one night for what could have been up to four hours between bed checks. The next morning she was dressed and put at her dining table with the others. The only problem is she had broken bones in her hand from the fall, a terrible septic infection, that could only be caused by neglect. Upon my finding this out the following day, since I live on the other side of the country, she was sent to the hospital only due to my insistence. She died within two weeks.

Incredibly mediocre place with terrible management. They are understaffed and unhelpful. When an issue arises(and this place has A LOT of issues), it is impossible to speak with any of the management. Almost every time that I have called, I’m unable to reach anyone but the front desk. You can leave a voicemail for the management, but they have never returned any of my calls. They are negligent, as they’ve messed up my parent’s prescriptions NUMEROUS times by not logging doses, by losing scripts, and by delaying ordering prescriptions. Every time there is a maintenance issue like a broken toilet or wheelchair it takes at least 3 – 4 days until they fix it, sometimes up to a week! They ignore patients who call for help, and they don’t understand basic medical needs. The facility bathrooms are dirty(they only clean once a week) and if you ask them to do basic cleaning(I.e make sure there is not any feces on the floor) they act like you are a nuisance. That being said, there are some really terrific and caring nurses and staff who work there, but the management needs to improve. Some of the front desk workers are very helpful and sweet, while others are extremely rude and refuse to help you. I’m positive that this place is understaffed, and it’s creating a lot of the above issues. Corporate needs to stop trying to increase its profits by sacrificing residents’ needs! Hire more staff and invest in better training!

This is a followup to my previous 2-star review: My cousin is in the memory care unit at Springtree. Another relative went to visit her and found that my cousin’s shared bathroom had only one bath towel and only one washcloth for the two residents that share the room. When the relative requested an additional towel and washcloth and asked why the two residents had to share one towel and washcloth, she was told, «Well, all the resident has to do is request additional towels and washcloths and we’ll provide them.» Are you kidding me? These residents have DEMENTIA!!! Many of them are nonverbal, etc., etc. I have more comments and may enter them at another time. If I had the $$$$, I’d move my cousin out of this factory.
