I’ve been going there for years, but I will NEVER eat there again! Today, Dec. 9, 2015, I was eating there with a couple of friends from work and decided to order the hot and sour soup. Well, when the soup came out, I started eating it and crunched down on something hard. When I pulled the hard object from my mouth I noticed it was a rock… a freaking ROCK! Luckily, it didn’t do any damage to my teeth! The manager came out and tried to downplay it and convince me that it wasn’t a rock, so I took a knife to the object and showed him that it couldn’t be cut through. At the very least, my meal was free, but I will never eat at this«restaurant» again!

Actually it’s 3.5 but not a 4 star. The food is good, nothing special. My Happy Family came out quickly and it was piping hot. Hot n sour soup was a little watered down and salty but still tasty. The healthier brown rice was a little undercooked but the veggies were nice and crunchy. Chicken wings came out a little after the entrée and they were very good. Great value for $ 6.50. Can’t complain but can’t rave either.

Horrible… rice dry… chicken tasted old and under cooked. I ordered the general tso chicken and I could not even eat the food. Frozen Chinese food tastes better.

I’ve picked up plenty of to-go orders of egg drop soup during my lunch break here and just never got around to writing up this review. The service here is always stellar. Every employee or manager who has worked the front desk area here was pleasant and accommodating. This restaurant has dine-in options and is in the same shopping center as the Kroger on the corner of McGinnis Ferry Rd and Medlock Bridge Rd. I used to work down the street in Johns Creek and just happened to stop by on a whim because I was struggling with a sore throat and was craving egg drop soup. Their egg drop soup is solid. I’ve tried their beef and broccoli and it’s pretty good as well. Their lunch portions are plentiful and will leave you fully satisfied. Their dine in area is clean and pretty busy during the lunch and dinner rush. During my last visit, we picked up some BBQ pork ribs from their appetizer menu and their chicken corn egg drop soup. The BBQ pork ribs were better than expected. You receive 4 ribs in one order. Loved it. The chicken corn egg drop soup is just your standard egg drop soup with corn kernels and small pieces of chicken. Tastes the same though but still hit the spot. If you’re in the Suwanee area and craving Chinese, this is your spot. Check them out.

Décor is dark and run down but typical of this style Chinese restaurant. I sat for lunch, was seated promptly, recieved my drink very quickly and waitress was quickly ready to take my order. I would give this place a 3.5 stars if I could but, I can’t so I won’t ;) The portions, as noted by others, are large especially for a lunch menu and cheap. Where they fell down in my book is my go to dish, Sesame Chicken, which didn’t taste anything like Sesame Chicken. The only resemblence it had was the Sesame seeds on it and it was chicken. Otherwise it was missing the typcial crispy outer crust and the slight sticky and sweet flavor. Instead it was some semi-thick soy sauce like flavor. I am however willing to go back and try another dish and will update after that.

We order take out from here just about once a week and have been since they’ve been open which is a long time. They are friendly and prompt! We typically get the same things, sesame chicken, chicken with broccoli, egg rolls, Mongolian beef or Hunan chicken and it is always huge portions and fresh and tasty. Have tried others around here and keep going back to our old standard at Pearl of China

Very quick service. Perfect for people on a tight schedule. Food is really good too. Very well priced. Portions are great. I love this place. Better than most little Chinese restaurants around.

have eaten there twice(to go orders) and both times the good was swimming in water an inch deep in the bottom of the to-go container. Might be good if they’d have drained it. I probably won’t go back

Typical Chinese restaurant food. It was OK. I’ve had much better n much worse. So hav to give it middle of the road. Great if you are in the area n looking for a sit down chinese meal. The chow fun didn’t have authentic noodles and was all too greasy. The crab rangoon was over fried. Did have great service n staff was so friendly. Knew the regulars by name. That’s always a good sign. They do a lot of takeout as we saw many people picking up their phone in orders. Typical chinese restaurant modern décor. OK-Good overall. Would go again if we felt like sit down chinese food if we’re in the area

It is probably not THE best Chinese restaurant in the universe, but I was pleasantly surprised by my three-ish meals here and of all the Chinese restaurants in this area, I would come here. I think Pearl of China has been here for ages(next to Kroger), but I’ve only recently started coming here because… well, I guess this is a prime example of the phrase«Don’t judge a book by its cover.» The outside isn’t dilapidated or anything like that, but there’s certainly nothing glamorous or enticing about it either. The interior is simply decorated, the service is decently friendly, and it seems like there are MANY regulars, which is a very good sign. Plus, the lunch specials are fantastic because they are not only extremely reasonably priced, but the portions are generous. Despite not being a carnivore, I think the chef really knows what he/she is doing because the vegetable dishes we ordered were very satisfying. Generally, it is difficult to find savory veggie-only plates at Chinese restaurants. Oftentimes, you are limited to just a few options because everything has some variation of pork, beef, or shrimp. On this note, at Pearl, you are very limited when it comes to soups — all except one contains pork. And, unfortunately, I would not recommend the single vegetarian-friendly soup(something with spinach and tofu). As for the main dishes, I highly recommend the moo shu veggie and kung pao tofu — both are excellent. Mmm I’m craving some now!

I love the food no matter what I order(and I never order battered and fried chicken dishes anywhere) and the service is friendly. I find lots of redeeming qualities in the food. I mean, it’s $ 6 for entrée, rice, soup and chicken wings. If you want PF Changs, go to PF Changs. If you want chopsticks, go to a Japanese restaurant.

Cheap place for lunch but the food is average at best. The restaurant was clean, but my waitress uttered a total of three words to me the whole time…“what your order? ” I will not be back.

I’ve lived in this area for over 14 years, and we used to eat here about once a month in the early years because… well, because there was NOTHING else out here, short of going to Cumming and getting even worse Chinese food. So, tonight, out of sheer desperation to break the circle of eating we had been stuck in, I said, «Let’s try this place again. Hopefully, things have changed for the better in ten years!» Well, at least for tonight, they have. I wanted simple, non-cloying tastes, so I ordered the Shrimp Chow Mein combination dinner, egg roll, fried rice, and egg drop soup. Well, hello! The chow mein was almost artfully flavored and sauced, delightfully non-cloying with perfectly stir fried vegetables and with sweet, fresh shrimp whose flavor was contained within their pristine selves, not leaked out into the sauce. The fried rice was lively without oiliness and contained just a hint of vegetables and soy sauce. The egg drop soup was not up to my ideal of comfortable heartiness, and the egg roll was adequate. Our waiter was politely attentive and gentle jovial. Let’s see what else has gotten better in round 2.

Pearl of China has been a long time staple for our family. We rarely eat in the restaurant but do take out and delivery quite often. For delivery, the food is always hot and the service is always very friendly and polite.

Not bad for Chinese food, but when standards are set so high by your deemed«favorite» Chinese restaurant; that becomes hard to beat. I have had worse & I have had better. I don’t recommend the crab angel’s(a.k.a. crab Rangoon) they just didn’t do it for me… no real flavor other than sweet & it seems as though the won ton wrapper was… stale. Anyhoo, I had the vegetable Lo-Mein & the B/F the Chicken. All & all not a bad experience & it was better than any of the other local chain places that surround it. :)

Why on earth this place has an average rating so low is beyond me. My family and I have been going here for years and we love not only the food, but the staff, too. The lunch special is what drew us in and it’s what keeps us coming. For $ 5.60, you can get a bowl of steaming soup, a crispy vegetable spring roll(or two fried chicken wings), fried rice, a delicious entrée, and piping hot green tea. And it’s all incredibly mouth-watering. The seating tends to be a bit dark at first(don’t worry — your eyes will adjust), but there’s plenty of room and it’s quite cozy. We absolutely love the owner and waitresses there, and we like to think they love us, too(one can hope, right?). Don’t forget to ask for your fortune cookies at the end of the meal — we all know how accurate they tend to be. Ok, fine — but they’re still fun.

I have to agree with Lee on this one — no redeeming qualities whatsoever. Well, it’s close to the office, so I guess that’s a plus? The food comes out really quickly? It’s cheap as all get-up? The service kinda blows. The food is eh. They look at me crazy when I ask for chopsticks. I have to use half a bottle of salt and pepper. But I guess when I just have to cross one main street to get there and lunch costs me less than $ 6 I should just suck it up and quit bitchin.

My family has been going to this restaurant for a long time and just recently I went with them, yum! The food is always hot and fresh. The wait staff which consists of maybe two waiters are really nice. My favorite is the twice cooked pork Hunan style, it’s spicy and delicious. The hot n sour soup is filled with peppery goodness. I really like this place, everything that we have had was really excellent!!! We keep going back, the best thing is that they deliver… and really fast
