Sushi was great. Service was perfect. Ambiance was nice… Every employee who past us said hi and smiled. Yes prices are higher but I don’t mind paying them because the rolls were big and fresh. The only thing I would say is to lighten up on the sauces on plate… Little bit too much. But defiantly a must try.

Taking one star off because the quality of the meal does not really warrant $ 50 a person. The servers and chefs are beyond attentive. The chefs put on a better show than I’ve seen at other places. It’s not traditional by any means but that’s kind of what makes it so fun. My only complain is that the chefs use a TON of oil while cooking. Everything I ate was covered in a film to where I could only taste vegetable oil. When I was done with my food, there was a pool of oil on my plate. I kept having to wipe my lips. Other than those two things, it’s a fun place, the food is good for the most part, but the prices need to come down considering the area.

My son’s favorite restaurant. He knows the capabilities(show-wise and cooking-wise) of basically all the hibachi chefs. And the show and the cooking does differ across the chefs! There’s always lots of food but it’s really expensive, and otherwise«just ok». We have a Desaki card — I highly recommend getting one if you plan to visit more than once. It’s good for 25% off all food except Saturdays and holidays. They charge for bottled water and are sure to let you know proceeds go to charity. And tips are included — with any extra tip going to the server, not the chef, which I find surprising. Once the food is cooked, there seems to often be a hurry to rush you out — even if it’s not busy. While I do appreciate getting my bill so I can go when I want, I do t like being pushed One last thing — maybe an odd point. They have really nice, very automated and clean restrooms. Always a plus!

My friend was raving about this place. I Unilocaled it before going and was worried about all of the negative reviews. I’m not sure what restaurant they ate at, but i found portion sizes to be huge, price to be high but fair and the hibachi experience was great. Would definitely advise people to check it out

I’m sure most people come here for the Hibatchi tables, however, my mom and I were in a rush to get some good food before returning to Great Wolf Lodge while vacationing with the family. He had an excellent dinner. They were having a big fundraising party for the Salvation Army while we were there but they were able to handle that group of about 200 and take care of the other patrons. The sushi quality was so much better than expected. I thought since we were in a tourist location that it would be «take what we could get.» What a pleasant surprise! We had some warm appetizers from the kitchen that were excellent too, the shrimp and vegetable tempura. The portion size was huge. We also got the Pocono Mountain roll and the Salmon skin roll. They were great. It was a very pleasant evening.

Been here last year. No free tab water you have to buy water here. Food is great, the chef is very entertaining but it took sometime to get him to the table. Just 2 of us at the table so I guess they’re waiting for more people. Oh and it’s pretty expensive. But I could go back again!

This review pertains mostly to the sushi portion of the menu. I’ve had hibachi here before as well and thought it was great, from quality to presentation. Frankly, I don’t know what people who gave this 3 or below are talking about. I’m a believer in the«you get what you pay for» mantra. There are exceptions of course but Desaki is not one of them. Yes it’s expensive. But it’s always super fresh(a good quality if you’re as into eating raw fish as I am), portions are very generous, the service is friendly & quick, presentation is gorgeous and the taste is among the best sushi I’ve ever had anywhere. I’m not in college anymore, I can afford to splurge a bit on quality dining out every once in awhile. Unfortunately I don’t live close enough to justify coming here every week(though I would if I did). But whenever I’m on the I-380 corridor I make it a point to drop in for a few rolls at the bar — and I am never disappointed. Try the 611 maki if you like spicy tuna. You’ll thank me.

See my photos on this site. Excellent sushi. PINKPEARL, DESAKI, SPIDERROLLS are all excellent! LEO*S SIGNATURE roll is beyond words! Superb! I guess Leo is the Sushi Chef over there making all the rolls. Good job! Our waiter, Michael made great sushi roll recommendations! We will be back! Maybe tomorrow!

Very expensive for hibachi! $ 35 for steak and it doesn’t come with the traditional salad or ice cream. The portions were smaller than any hibachi ive ever been to. Seems like a tourist spot. Watch out for them adding 18% gratuity to food AND alcohol! Doesn’t seem right to add that to drinks.

Been passing this place by for years. Finally we brought in our kids(2 ½ yrs and 6 months). was a slow night, sat with another family with older kids. service was pretty darn good and food was excellent. they really took care of our older one, who had sushi and shared some of our hibachi. both the chef and server were great(Dan and Sam if I recall properly) it was pretty expensive, and the only disappointing thing was NO deserts. hibachi is always kind of a show, so it seems good for kids, but that 15 min while the adults are finishing there really should be something to keep the kids sated. I’d go back again.

Visited some friends at Camelback Lodge and went out for a sushi /habachi dinner. The restaurant is really nice to look at and an extensive menu but … 1. The menu has these rules which I guess is ok to let you know what to expect: — 18% gratuity included for all party sizes — no free tap water or refills(There water is bottled and only a quarter which goes to a charity so not all bad I suppose. 2. EXPENSIVE — I went with a doctor who make good money and even he said Whoa! The cheapest sushi roll was about $ 10 and the special rolls(which to be fair are pretty big run $ 15 to $ 20+. Habachi was in the high $ 20s and the combos were $ 40-$ 70. It’s the poconos people not NYC. I would have walked out but we were 8 people and the 2 kids were starving so we ate. Avoided the habachi except for one adult and the kids. We all had a roll or 2. The bill was with tip about $ 240 or so. No drinks but water. The habachi chef was very personable and funny with some jokes that went over the kids heads. He actually had a few things that were unique from other chefs we have had. Overall if they lowered price 25−35% maybe a 3 star(oh yeah their«Dynamite sauce on the sushi which I thought would have been a spicy mayo was a goopy, sweet /slightly spicy bbq like sauce. Disgusting and unfortuneately I had it on both rolls(stay away from the Swiftwater Roll, like dog food)). Ok maybe with the reduction in price a 2 star. As it stands I had it at 2 but reminded about the disgusting Dynamite sauce and the crappy Swiftwater roll its a 1.

It’s a really spiffy hibachi restaurant ready for families, parties, or groups like the one I was part of; a leadership summit hungry after a long day of business! They were kind enough to supply a shuttle to and from our hotel(The Château). We had a large reservation of 54 women but they accommodated us in the back corner with two large U-shaped tables. The food itself was pretty good and they took into account everyone’s dietary needs early on. I know a few of them women complained some of the guys messed up and cooked the vegetables with the meat but for what it was, I was pretty satisfied with the meal. It was a lot for what you got and what you would expect from hibachi. The folks were pretty nice and accommodating, but what you’d expect from hibachi.

Love the fresh sushi here. We will usually get the Japanese soup which has fried onions within it, seaweed salad, Japanese wings and dragon roll whenever you are here. Dragon roll relates to eel(sweet, cooked fish). They do a good dish of crispy soft shell crab here as well! You have to come here on Tuesdays because it’s half-priced!

We came to this place at our first night of staying down here. It was very good, service was good, food amazing and chef was funny as usual. Refill for drinks without asking, and I enjoyed it. We came a little late, and I felt like they were trying to get us out of there and I didn’t enjoy that at all, so get there before closing. The chairs slid on the floor like crazy, so don’t were heels. But all in all, good job.

When we walked in, I was impressed. it is a beautifully decorated restaurant and spacious… we had to wait a bit for a table(it was Saturday and packed) so we stood on the balloon animal line. When it wasn’t moving after 15 minutes, we went to wait on the Face Painting line, but after 15 more minutes of waiting, we were being seated. So we sat at an upstairs table and were cramped and extremely close to the other tables. When the cooking started, it was fun. The chef was pelting food at us, made the flame volcano onion and smiled a lot. Unfortunately the food was only ok. We went back down to get a balloon and/or face painting and they were closed;( When we got the bill, we were shocked at the prices! Very overpriced for underwhelming food. I was disappointed in the waiter service as our plates were dirty & we had to ask several times for replacements. Anyway you pay for bells& whistles& if you go in a big group& drink alcohol, then you won’t mind spending the big bucks!

Went with my kids and parents for Father’s day dinner. While overall we enjoyed ourself, the experience was only ok. Food was«fine», if a bit salty. Chef was very personable, and entertaining — though other staff were not particularly attentive. In particular — while we were seated very quickly, and appetizers and soup were very fast, it took a long, long time to get a chef. Also — they have a ‘no water’ policy that seems designed to push up the check.

I’m so sad… We’ve eaten here a few times. Food is always very good. That’s why we come back. bUT the service is horrible. Tonight we didn’t even get a plate an saucer for our sushi! Wtf!!! Which came out before the appitiZer! AND the plates were plastic!!! For the high prices this place charges, give me a real plate! The waitress was mediocre at best. It was a special 50%night and I think because of that hey jacked the prices .my glass of wine was $ 13! ??? AND They have an automatic 18% gratuity, I get that for large parties but not parties of 2! I believe in tipping really well when its good service and less when it’s bad. Lastly. They put in more hibachi tables, and it’s so cramped you can hear the people next to you chewing for gods sake! After 14 years in the Poconos .il take my business elsewhere… we’ve been here 4x now & this is most likely are last!

Absolutely love this restaurant. The food was delicious. Since my move from Florida to New York, I’ve been in search for a new hibachi restaurant favorite. I finally found it but saddened it’s in PA. They have yum yum sauce like Kobe’s Japanese Steak House and their scallops are to die for. The server was fantastic. His tricks focused on the fact that everyone at my table has been to a hibachi restaurant so we already knew the routine/tricks. He surprisingly showed us tricks we had never seen. GREAT experience and PHENOMENAL food with military discount of 25% off. Couldn’t ask for more.

This was my first time at Hibachi and overall it was a great experience. Our server Kyle was great! There were some off putting signs around letting everyone know«stay off the grass» «stay off the rocks» «don’t touch the waterfall». Lol. The landscaping out front was pretty. The chefs and the food were good. We really enjoyed the Teriyaki chicken and the NY Strip. The noodles were very tasty but the rice was a little bland. The edamame was a great way to start the meal. The only issue, which was pretty annoying came after the chefs finished cooking. A new chef Nate(Caucasian) was fun to watch since he was in training and he did a great job. Back to the point. The chefs finished cooking and not 5 minutes after we were given the bill and boxes for our food. Kyle did say take your time but another 5 minutes passed and a busboy came over and said want me to box anything? We were still eating clearly but 5 minutes later another busboy came and asked if we’re done and needed boxes. We were a party of 8 with 5 kids and dropped a pretty penny so of course my mom and cousin started mentioning to the busboys how awkward it was that we were basically being pushed out. They were sweet but it was not a good way to end the experience.

Disappointed! This place is beautiful to look at. The Chefs were fantastic and entertaining. The food could use a little work, very tasteless and the chicken was over cooked. The prices are ridiculous an they add a 18% gratuity to your check. The waiter added his spu at the end of our meal that the tip is for the chef, the waiter, and the bartender and if we wanted to leave him a little extra we could. My girlfriend and her daughter order sodas after they drank the sodas the waiter asked if they wanted another and another, NEVER mentioning that they are not free refills so she ended up paying 20.00 in sodas fees. At 9:20pm we were still eating an the waiter came asking if he could put our food in boxes. I thgt that was rude being as thgh you close til 10:00 an there’s is still another table waiting to eat their food. I just didn’t understand why we were being rushed !!
