A terrific, cozy restaurant that has a great menu. Every aspect was wonderful, from the host, our waitress, the owner, and, oh boy, the food. Cocktails were great, the Lobster Spring Roll was phenomenal, and our ribeye and veal t-bone were incredible. Toppings for your steaks are highly recommended and the desserts were also great. This was a very fine dining experience and we will surely be back and recommend this place to friends. You can get anything from sandwiches, burgers, appetizers, to fine chophouse dinners. A sure winner for us!

Wow how do I start this? As soon as u pull up to the chop house you get a feeling of invitation. When I walked thru the door it was warm and a great atmosphere! The staff is so wonderful from the second u walk thru the door to when ur walking out. The food is just spectacular! Can not say enough good about this place. For an appetizer I had the crab meat mixed with an aioli sauce on top of potato skins I’ve never tasted anything like this so definitely try this one! This could be a meal in itself! Yummmmm. For dinner I had the pork chop on the bone and, I think it’s the best pork chopped I’v ever had. The outside was fired grilled with the outside being crisp and mouthwatering to the inside just melting in your mouth! Bravo! Great place to stop! You 100% need to try this place! The owners are a culinary expert and a master mixologists ! You can’t miss this!

Delicious food! We come from NY/NJ area so for Poconos the food is closer to a 5 star. The appetizers vegetable spring rolls and the grilled tomato with blue cheese was good. For dinner I had the crab cake which was good and my husband had the crispy duck which we both really liked. Great drink menu! If there was a 4 ½ star I would give Frogtown Chophouse that

Solid four, if not a smidgen higher. We are not from the area and had no idea where to eat, so, thank you Unilocal nation for narrowing it down for us! The husband and I rolled in here on Saturday around 5:30 and were seated immediately despite not having reservations, though I suspect we were given the«no reservations» table– high traffic area right near the entrance to the dining room, haha. But, no complaints! Ambience– Nicely decorated, dimly lit, but we weren’t exactly dressed in our finest after having been hiking all day without a chance to go change and we were not treated grossly at all. Plus, shortly after our arrival a cover singer arrived in the bar area adjacent to the dining room and definitely brought the level down from fine dining to casual. Service: Spot on! The host was super friendly, our waitress was professional, personable, and attentive. The rest of the wait staff was on point in clearing plates and doing other things. This place appeared to run like a well oiled machine and everyone worked their butt off. Food: I started with the tomato soup($ 7 I think) which was hot and delicious, albeit a bit acidic for my taste. You also get complimentary sourdough focaccia with a small dish of tomato soup dipping sauce– the focaccia was fluffy and warm. For our entrees, my husband and I both went with the braised short rib($ 31). Both came with green beans though I got mashed potatoes and he got wild rice. The braised short ribs were meltingly tender, a good cut, a just needed a touch of salt. The mashed likewise needed salt but tasted good with the meat. The green beans were crisp, garlicky, and tasted fresh. The wild rice was quite possibly the best thing of the night, surprisingly– it was savory, perfectly cooked, and delightful, for rice! The portions were perfect– no waste but full belly. We opted for dessert after being told that they, except for ice creams, are made in-house. I went with tiramisu and he went with chocolate cake. The tiramisu was a giant portion but very lightly flavored– it tasted neither of coffee, nor alcohol. But, it was sweet and soft and creamy. The chocolate cake was a the weak link of the evening, as the cake part was very dry and seemed as if it is kept refrigerated. Not one to mince words, when asked how dessert was, my husband replied that he wasn’t impressed with his, and the waitress removed the cake from our bill. That was very kind of her and speaks to the level of customer service you can expect at this establishment. Bottom line– we left fat and happy and if ever in this area again, we’d return for sure.

Unfortunately previous review was meant for Frog Town Inn in Canadensis not Frogtown Chop House was my mistake we have patronized both but Chop House under previous management and food was excellent we will be going to Frog Town Chp House this weekend will check in next week. At one time Frog Town Inn in Canadensis was excellent but our last to dining experiences were disappointing the portions were small and their homemade keylime pie tasted like it was store bougt food just ok.

While my friends seemed to enjoy their food, and I did too, I ended up violently ill just a couple hrs after the meal. The 16 oz dry aged strip steak turned out to be a biological warfare device, which ravaged my stomach to no end. Fluids coming out of both ends. It tasted so much better going down than coming back up. That said, I’d definitely recommend this place to my worst enemy.

We went to Frogtown Chophouse on 8÷31÷15 and had a very accommodating manager who was able to provide us with peanut free options. There were 3 great peanut safe desserts that night — coconut chocolate ice cream, cheesecake, & crème brulee. Their signature crab potato skins is excellent, so is the house made sourdough bread. Great food, service, & ambience.

The service and food were equally wonderful! We came from out of town and felt right at home. Try the half chicken or the lobster roll and be happy.

After experiencing some poor food throughout our trip, we found this AMAZING restaurant, and couldn’t have been more thrilled! The meal starts out with a bread which comes with a delicious tomato soup for dipping, then we went on to get the crab spring rolls which melted in your mouth and were absolutely wonderful. For our entrée my husband got steak topped with lobster which was cooked to perfection and the sides were wonderful. I got the fish and a crab cake on the size which were both great. Our server janelle was the nicest woman and made our experience even more enjoyable. I would recommend this to everyone and return back to the Poconos for this place alone!

Fabulous piece of beef(16oz bone-in NY, $ 36), competent staff and excellent bar service(could work on spirits selection), small yet tidy wine list and acceptable corkage fee($ 25). For me, the management brought my experience down. From amateurish check-in and seating procedures to someone who, from what I could tell, was the GM yet wore a backwards Goose Island baseball cap(not kidding), jeans and an untucked button-down while the maitre d was appropriately dressed with a tie, etc… I guess it just didn’t feel like the place was being run by people who really care about fine dining. I guess that’s part of its Poconos charm? Great piece of beef though!

Quite solid food and a pleasant dining experience. The crispy duck with raspberry delivers. The burger is good, but one or two notches from greatness. The onion rings will make you happy. Excellent service! Nice low light atmosphere and a well behaved crowd.

Rustic restaurant What a fabulous find in the Pocono’s. Friendly service & an awesome menu. You will no doubt find something on the menu that you want to try. The soup of the day is so good — why is it served in such a small bowl?! Crab cakes were enjoyable as well as steaks & salmon. For the bread, they serve a small dish of soup that you dip the bread into– inventive! I was here twice & really enjoyed this restaurant and recommend it!

Brought 15 friends and family here for my brother’s birthday dinner. We were all very impressed by the evening. The waitstaff was on it… they took our orders quickly and efficiently, forgetting nothing.(Not easy with 15 people ranging in ages from 10 – 70.) The food was great… so many steak options, a few fish dishes, and a nice selection of vegetarian options(salads, sandwiches, apps, etc…) They plated our brought-in deserts and even gave my brother a complimentary slice of cake. Great cocktail, wine, and beer selection… TRYTHEBOURBONBEER! Dinner ran about $ 40/person.

LOVELOVELOVE this place! This has got to be one of my local favorites and I am so glad to have found this gem! You don’t have to go far to get a fine dining experience. The service is amazing … the food is absolutely delicious … the prices are very reasonable and they have FRIEDICECREAM! Any place that has fried ice cream is amazing in my eyes! Their cocktail list is also very impressive … If you are in the area or are a local you have to try this place, you will not be disappointed!

We came to the poconos to get away for a bday weekend. This place was great! They had several fires going inside which made for a comfy atmosphere. To start you should try the blue tomato salad. The tomatoes are layered with blue cheese, a balsamic glaze, pesto, and baked… it was amazing! Both filets were cooked perfectly and melted in our mouths. You cannot leave this place without trying the fried ice cream for dessert. It’s a life changer! If you’re in the area you should definitely make reservations and try this place out. Great for a nice relaxing dinner after a long day of winter activities!

What a great dining experience. First and foremost, our party of 6 had satisfied bellies(decent sized portions), the wait staff was extremely professional and courteous and the food was absolutely delicious. And surprisingly the beer on tap was dirt cheap! Our meal came out to be only $ 250. We had several drinks each along with appetizers and dessert and coffee. Yes, this was more expensive than what I’d normally spend for a dinner. However, it was for a very special occasion and the same meal of the same quality would’ve been easily $ 500 in the city. I can’t speak for anyone else at the table, but I ordered the soup de jour… which was a lobster and crab bisque. So much flavor packed in without being overly salty. Such a delight. Next was a delicious T-bone steak cooked medium rare with asparagus. Such a delight! The meat just melted in my mouth. Others in the table ordered fish n chips, a grilled chicken burger and other cuts of steak. All of us enjoyed the meal along with the service provided. Wonderful experience all around!

After having contacted numerous restaurants within the area to accommodate a party of eighteen, Frogtown Chophouse was the only establishment to vigorously accept proposal without added stipulations. And it’s damn good that they did because my experience here was the pinnacle of fine dining. The atmosphere is comfortable yet formal, the cleanliness is surreal, and the service is as close to perfection for a party of eighteen as one could imagine. The architecture of the menu makes for an almost limitless amount of entrees organized in such a way to promote ease of ordering. After choosing your serving of meat(which ranges from a rib eye, rack of lamb, veal steak, to a crab cake, crispy duck, and much more than I can recall) you select a rub, a topping, and a sauce. The sides are conventional for a chophouse and you can add seafood for under $ 10. I could get into how well cooked and flavored my rack of lamb was, but in truth every dish I tried was cooked without fault. If you’re in the area and consider yourself a food connoisseur, Frogtown Chophouse is a must-visit.
