Lovely place great coffees, beautiful crepes, any cookies available are always yummy. I like to sit outside, but upstairs inside is great, also. My only complaint is the music here should never be on classic rock. Really? Funny, just now after I gave up trying to read the music switched to a 40’s, 50’s classics. Ahh, much better!

Quaint, and cute, coffee shop in historic Sykesville. Lots of extra seating upstairs. Worth a visit. Crepes looked delicious, but only stopped in for a cold drink on a hot day.

Sensational place. I love the crepes, especially the French crêpe. Get it with the extra pepper in case they forget to ask. Just magnificent. If you’re in the mood for a savory and then a sweet crêpe I just warn you to be really hungry. That’s a lot of food. I’ve done it once, and it was wonderful, but really it’s just being a glutton. For the sweets I like the chocolate and banana and the cinnamon and sugar. I haven’t tried them all(wanting the applesauce and caramel) but they are all on the bucket list. The only shortcoming is that sometimes the wait is really long. You can only make crepes so fast so every once in a while you can wait 15 min for your order. Mostly on weekends in the afternoon. But I suppose they are worth the wait. I mean, I still do it.

Went on the first day of the Sykesville farmer’s market. Ordered the crépe from Canada I think… It had bacon and maple syrup. I don’t remember what country it was from. The place was a mob scene, but the line went pretty fast. The girl at the register was friendly and efficient. My friend ordered the crépe with ham… Not sure which country hers was from either. It was also delicious. So was my chai tea. When I went to leave, it was overflowing with people. So I guess others love it too. Next time I will try the Nutella one because, well, everything is better with Nutella.

I went to French Twist for an afternoon coffee date just because it’s located halfway between my office and my friend’s house. By luck, I think I really discovered a wonderful little gem. My friend and I had coffee, hot chocolate, and split a berry crêpe. I love that they gave us the option to have real mugs since we were eating there. The drinks and the crêpe were made quickly by the courteous and friendly staff, and they were absolutely delicious. My coffee was topped with a cute leaf in the foam and the hot chocolate had the perfect amount of whipped cream. The highlight was the crêpe. It was huge and totally stuffed with delicious strawberries, blackberries, and blueberries. My only criticism is that it was served on a crappy paper plate. Real mugs, but no plates? That kind of brought the level of charm down quite a bit. Other than that, I would definitely go back. Just buy plates, please!

Excellent crepes with generous portions. I had the Spanish, and it was excellent. The coffee is strong and tasty. The service was very good.

Had a fantastic crêpe although I didn’t like having disposable cutlery or a paper plate for eating here. Coffee was good. The line was long but was moving and my food and coffee came fairly quickly. I’d be glad to come back again.

It’s fun, eclectic and delicious. The staff manages to remember people, their likes, and is just delightful to converse with while they create your crêpe. The crepes are fantastic. They are also magically filling. Hours later when it’s time for lunch and I’m still not hungry. Absolutely delicious. The coffees are perhaps the best I’ve ever had, anywhere. The very definition of a smooth and hearty coffee. The artistry of the preparation of the cappuccinos cannot be over stated. French magazines, jugs of iced water, old tables and chairs. It’s a wonderful place to dine and chat. We regularly come here for breakfast, and probably will continue to do so indefinitely.

Very quaint. Very friendly service. I enjoyed my cinnamon-sugar crêpe and vanilla chai latte. The crêpe was light and thin, and the added cinnamon-sugar didn’t overpower the taste of the crêpe itself. Situated in a small house right in the heart of the small, historic town, the French Twist offers a charm that’s hard to match.

Who knew crepes were so good! My advise to you is that this place gets very crowded on the weekend(especially Saturday morning). The crepes range from breakfast items to anything you can imagine. My favorite is the Canadian crêpe(bacon bits, egg, cheese and maple syrup). Whenever I come here it’s always crowded but no worries there are enough tables upstairs and outside. The drinks here are equally as good as the crepes and the smoothies are all fruit and not to mention the staff is super friendly and always compliment you.

Best coffee in town. Crepes are amazing. Staff is always friendly and very welcoming. Crepes are made fresh right in front of you. Lots of fun little trinkets and boutique items too for fun gifts.

I’ve only had savory crepes and brewed coffee here but let me say that those two items are first class in every sense. Contrary to what one might expect from French Twist, this place isn’t pretentious at all. From the polite young women behind the counter to the ownership, you just get a vibe of authenticity here. The crepes back that up. I was probably too buzzed to remember the crepes I had in Paris but I guarantee you these are better, and it’s fun to watch them being made! Just par for the course when it comes to downtown Sykesville businesses. I love this little main street.

We LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this place. I could eat here everyday! My entire family makes this their first and last stops when visiting me. My husband and I come in here regularly… And I sneak down here a little more often than I would ever admit to him. Food is always superb, service is excellent, and the environment is charming. We are so happy to have this gem in our local community. Crepes come in savory(more filling) and sweet(treats) plus they have a very small collection of baked treats and soups rotate. Coffee is strong but very fresh and yummy.

This place was recommended to me. So after I finished my window shopping I decided to veer off the main drag and try a crêpe and hot beverage. There are so many great choices of both sweet and savory crepes. After I finally made my selection on the blackberry preserve, I thought I was ordering a basic chai until the server turned my attention to the board and asked what flavor. Again so many great choices but seeing as it was October, I went with the pumpkin chai. He even created a pumpkin on top with the froth. It along with the crêpe was delicious.

Mixed feelings! Celiacs and highly gluten sensitive folks beware! The website touts the fact that crepes here are gluten free: «Traditional Galettes are made from buckwheat flour. ***Our buckwheat batter is GLUTENFREE, WHEATFREE, and DAIRYFREE!***» What the website fails to mention, however, is that this is NOT the batter they actually use to make the crepes they typically serve to customers! Once you get to the front of the line if you are here on a crazy busy weekend morning as I was, and can read the fine print on the boards behind the register, you find out that the«regular» batter they use is not gluten-free, and that you have to request g-f batter, which is then used on the same cooking surface as the regular batter, which can defeat the purpose of a g-f ingredient for those who are very sensitive. The g-f crêpe definitely does not compare to the regular one, although mine had already begun to cool off quite a bit because it was so busy that for me to see that it was ready and then to make my way through the crowd took a while. I do love all their filling options, and I was amazed at how cool and collected all these teenager employees were while the place was *insanely* busy.

I really like this place and I make a point to bring family friends whenever we’re in the area and they love it too. I’ve never had a bad crêpe, sweet and savory. I haven’t experienced the long wait like some other reviewers, maybe I just come at the right time or maybe I’ve never really been in a rush when I stopped in. They are made to order so that takes time. I wouldn’t want the quality to be effected by expediting things. So if you’ve got some time, stop in, have a crêpe or two :) you won’t regret it.

What a cute place! I say this about a lot of places but I wish I lived closer so I could come here more often! It’s a perfect place to camp out and get some work done. A big coffee/tea menu and tons of Crêpe choices. They have an Apple Spice Chai Latte. It’s like they understand me so well! It was delicious! A bunch of teenagers were running the place, one of them being trained so I waited while she was showing him the system but I didn’t mind, they were perfectly friendly. Downstairs is really small but they have a delightful porch and a large upstairs with lots of varied seating from little 2 person tables, to a sofa, to bench and table seating. Awesome. Cute décor, all French themed– plus they sell locally made crafts which is cute. Wifi is free with the password. My least favorite part was my chocolate and strawberry crêpe. It ended up being a little hard, like a shell which was tough to cut through with a plastic fork and knife. It tasted good, and was loaded with fresh strawberries which was a plus. I just think it was either overcooked or maybe the batter had too much flour. Not sure, I’ve never made a crêpe before. If I’m ever back in Sykesville, you know where you’ll find me!

Finally a nice place to get a great coffee or latte in Sykesville/Eldersburg. Very good sweet and savory crepes — my favorites are the Nutella and strawberry, fresh berry and anything with pesto.

I went for the first time, and it was an enjoyable experience! I’m a bit of a coffee snob, and I thoroughly enjoyed my skim iced latte! One of the better ones I’ve tasted. I didn’t try any of the crepes, but maybe next time. I’m not a big crêpe person because I think in general they don’t fill you up — but you’re paying for a full-meal’s price. The atmosphere on the 2nd floor is perfect — not too loud, and not too quiet. There’s adequate seating for studying and reading(both tables w/chairs AND sofa couches). There are also bathrooms on both the 1st and 2nd floors = great for accessibility! Free Wi-Fi(just need a password though) and there’s multiple outlets for those with electronics to charge. I’ll definitely be back soon! Just wish it was a tad bit closer to home, but it’s in a quaint area… WORKERSAREVERYFRIENDLY by the way. What a great way to do business… They love working there it seems =D
