This place is good. I tried their burrito mojado and it was delicious!!! The salsas are soooo good!!! Staff is very friendly, welcoming, and they prepare your food right when you order it. I hate that they only take cash but nonetheless, I will be coming again :)

This is the Best menudo, Hand made tortillas are included and make the meal that much better.

6 $ for a quesadilla, I think not! Eat here three years ago and didn’t like it. Walked in and ordered 2 cheese quesadillas and the cashier said 12 $. I said that was ridiculous and walked out. If the food was any good I would of aid it. Will never set foot in this place again.

Best menudo ever, served w/hand made tortillas. It’s the bomb with their spices. My family’s favorite menudo spot

This is really hard for me to admit but I’ve eaten here three times this week, I don’t think my body can take it. The first time I ate here I was looking for an easy breazy burrito fix which I got until I visited recently and spent nine bucks on a burrito. 9 $ on a burrito in sylmar?! Oh hell nah!(Even though it had cream and guacamole sauce on top, still) I wrote this place off until I tried their huevos rancheros, which is my favorite meal in the whole world. The beans are too greasy and the rice not the greatest but I’m willing to overlook it all because of huevos and ranchero sauce, they nailed it. For that alone I come back even though cash only is such a pain.

Not only is the staff nice and welcoming, the food is great! Their chile verde sauce is the best.

I don’t get why a majority of the reviews here say that this place is homestyle Mexican food or one of the best places in the 818. this place is fricken horrible! no flavor, bland, and it’s hotter then hell because lack of A/C. this is not traditional Mexican. if it were there would be tons of Mexican flavor. there food is Mexican Irish.

This place is HORRIBLE!!! Not only is it over priced but the food sits there all day long in food heaters. I’ve been there a couple of times because of the convenience with the location. Both times I ordered a bean and cheese burrito and both times was charged different prices. Usually around $ 6. Kinda pricey for a burrito without meat. Anyways, the second time I ordered my burrito to go. I got home, opened the salsa they gave me and poured it all over the burrito. I took a bite only to realize the salsa was spoiled. It was the most disgusting thing I had ever tasted. I wrapped my burrito up took it back to the restaurant and gave it back to the lady explaining what had happened. She said she had just noticed and had already thrown out that batch of salsa. I was so pissed. She didn’t apologize or give me my money back. I will never go there again. STAYAWAY!!! For the mission college students looking for good Mexican food in between classes there is a much better place on Hubbard and Gladstone in the yum yum donuts parking lot. Food there is AMAZING.

Gave it a try for the first time last month for their Menudo best I ever had. Since then we been coming back for the menudo every Sunday. Nice little restaurant. FYI Cash only a little bummer but the liquor has an ATM so you don’t have to drive if you forgot to take cash. Just yesterday we tried their asada burritos DELICIOUS!

This little home style restaurant is awesome. The people who work there are nice too. If you are in the area stop by for some authentic cuisine.

I’ve only been here once, ordered a burrito de chicharron. The lady that made my food heated the rice by putting it in a plastic shopping bag and throwing it in the microwave. I tried the food anyway, but I should have known better. Chale! This place is terrible! Don’t even bother. Even if you’re too lazy to go anywhere else.

Had a chicken and steak burrito. It was pretty good but its a bit pricey @ $ 5.50 for a average sized burrito. They only take cash! also, I was there last week and it was so hot and humid inside, I dont know if they have AC.

I hate to give them only 3 stars, but that’s all they tasted to me. It’s totally off the beaten path, so right away, i’m excited to see a bunch of people inside. People seek it out, so it must be good. They advertise tortillas made by hand… and they do… with the help of a machine… so it’s not totally by hand, but it’ll do. Great, i’m thinking, this place is legit. I ordered 2 tacos al pastor and 2 tacos carnitas, paid my $ 6 and waited. Didn’t take long to get them and off i went to trek home and chow down. I’ll start with what i didn’t like first, which is the al pastor. It was large chunks of pork and they weren’t that tender, so i was feeling like i was choking on them. The pastor flavor was weak, too… although there were nice stewed onions throughout. It just didn’t taste authentic to me. The carnitas, on the other hand, were good. A little dry as they were reheated on the grill top, but very tasty. The tortillas were good, the tacos themselves were a nice size, they gave me chips and a couple cups of hot sauce which were good. I wouldn’t go by here on purpose again, but i wouldn’t drive past it if i were in the area… although i would avoid the al pastor.

My favorite Mexican joint in the Valley! It’s right down the street from Los Angeles Mission College. I visited this place at least 3 times a week. Tacos are only $ 1.25 and there carna asada fries(nacho fries) are great. If you really want to taste greatness, I recommend asking for the chipotle hot sauce. That stuff will make your mouth run dry, but add incredible flavor to the food as well. I’ve been coming here for about 2 years now, and the only reason why I didn’t give it a 5 star rating is because the prices have been raised quite a bit. Burritos used to cost you about $ 4 but were raised to $ 6. Same goes for most of the meals they serve now(burrito combos, breakfast plates, and many traditional Mexican dishes like chiles rellenos for example). If you’re looking for some GREAT tacos and don’t feel like going to far out of the Valley, I’d definitely recommend El Jiyamitla. Great service, clean place, and amazing food.

My very first Huarache. That’s not pronounced Orache, not Arache but Wa-rache. So says the dude I ordered from. It’s an oval sope, about 1 ½x bigger. And pretty awesome with al pastor. The carne asada was fine but the al pastor was much better. My niece kept interrupting with comments like, «I love Mexicans», «These things are just amazing», «My dear, sweet uncle. I wish I was a fat as you so I could cram another half dozen of these awesome tacos down my throat’. Well maybe I invented that one but they were pretty terrific. Friendly service, VERY low key vibe. A cool, off the beaten path hole in the wall.
