This would be a helluva place to open a restaurant! There was nobody ahead of me at the counter. There were four others waiting for food. I noticed, but thought, «how bad could it be?» Based on the PoS receipt … thirteen minutes to get my spicy chicken sandwich out. The other four orders? Routine orders, that were all botched. When I received my order, it was missing the beverage. I said, «Incomplete.» She couldn’t figure it out, even after re-reading my order ticket. The staff was not working as a team. The were sniping at each other, even the [cough] manager was getting in on it. Not cool. The guy in the sandwich making position simply did not know his job. Nor did he know how-to read the display re: what he should be making. Will I return? Not for a very long time.

I took pain meds and passed out around 5, expecting to wake up from my nap a couple hours later… not after midnight. So I was like, «HEY! There’s a Wendy’s around the corner… their slogan is ‘Eat great, even late.’» Aren’t they usually open at 1am? Cars in the parking lot, lights on in the store… I pull up to order my pecan chicken salad, store is closed. BOOOOO!

We go to this Wendy’s rather routinely, and for the most part, they are ‘okay’, if not a little slow through the drive-thru. Yesterday, my son and I drove through for ‘dinner’ before his catechism class. We ordered a ‘small’ 10 piece tenders meal and a ‘medium’ Cod sandwich meal. We did NOT receive a receipt, but since the experience was already so crazy, I did not bother to ask for one. From now on, I will NEVER go through their drive through without getting the receipt. It cost me $ 20.90 for those two menu items… They told me $ 12-something, which would have been about right. Why was it crazy, you might ask? We visited the drive-thru at about 5:30PM. We were the 4th car in a string of cars. This Wendy’s does not handle it’s drive thru well, and we had a bit of a wait. When we made it to the speaker to place our order, we were told they were out of their Coke products(Coke, Sprite, and… Rootbeer…) My son wanted a Rootbeer, and I wanted a Coke. So, he ended up getting a Dr. Pepper, and absolutely no other pop available appealed to me. They had lemonade(which is way too sweet for me) and unsweetened iced tea(which NEEDS sugar!!), so I asked if he could mix those two for me as my drink. He said sure, and it turned out ok. I’m now wondering if he charged me $ 6 for the drink??? UGH!!! This was a very dissatisfying experience, made even more so by the obvious over charge that took place. Lesson learned… GET A RECEIPT, ANDREVIEWIT!!!

Normally you can count on the Chili being thick and filling. Not the case at this location! On 1÷24÷15 at 2:25pm, the two large chilies we purchased were watered down. We purchased at the drive through, and we were already on our way, when we discovered this disappointing meal. The only good thing was we could drink it, and didn’t require a spoon. I sure hope that this isn’t a trend, where they cut cost by cutting the chili with water. Sylvan Lake, MI Wendy’s needs to follow the corporate recipes set.
