Quiet restaurant with a decent menu and good weekend dim sum. My family and i have been frequenting this restaurant a few times in the past month. There is always immediate seating. Staff is friendly and attentive. The restaurant is also child-friendly with high chairs readily available. We’ve tried about 6 or 7 dishes on the main menu so far, and a handful of typical dim sum items. The taste is fairly authentic but not exceptional. The claypot fried tofu with seafood and vegetables is pretty good. The winter mushrooms on top of a bed of bakchoy is definitely a winner. On the lunch menu, the scallops with mixed vegetables is ok just a bit on the bland side. My favorite dim sum item is the clams with black bean sauce. I would definitely go back another weekend for it :)

I am only complaining about the confusion between their 2 stores, Golden Temple & Golden Temple II. The advertise Golden Temple II as 6600 Jericho Tpke. SYOSSET yet Google Map has that address as JERICHO ??? Last night my wife placed a take out order and I went to the Syosset address, not Golden TempleII in Jericho where the food was. They should fix the confusion on their website, advertise both stores but differentiate DRAMATICALLY between Syosset(Golden Temple) and Jericho(Golden Temple II). I wonder how many times my problem gets duplicated!!!

Fast service, good food, attentive waiters. Pretty great considering dimsum on a Saturday. Grandma with dementia raised hell about a dish(which actually wasnt bad) and so they gave it to us free of charge even though we’d eaten most of the dish. Props to the staff!

Took the family for Dim Sum breakfast. We had scallion pancakes, sticky rice, shrimp and pork Dim Sum, roast pork buns and crystal shrimp dumplings. It was delicious and we left with food babies. Services was great and we had a blast trying new stuff too. We’ll come back again.

Pretty good Chinese American food on Long Island. I had a very good Shrimp in lobster sauce and beef with broccoli. Delicious and fresh ingredients imo.

This restaurant was exploded. It was gas explosion. I was injured by debris. I do not recommend to go to this restaurant. The accident happened at Apr 1, 2016.

Nothing out of ordinary but very fresh n decent Dim Sum. Lacking of varieties. Our waiter was a nice glass wearing Chinese student I presume. He was courtesy n attentive. Parking space definitely beats Flushing. But if you desire for real Dim Sim, Flushing is the spot if you have energy to fight the crowd. Or this place can sooth your Chinese tapas taste buds.

I am definitely a fan of this place. Usually I go to Golden Temple I which is right next to Panera and DSW but my family decided to try out their new restaurant. The food tasted pretty authentic. Some of the stuff we ordered was way too spicy. Everything tasted really fresh and delicious. Your mouth doesn’t get dry afterwards so that’s a pretty good indicator that they didn’t add any MSG. They give you a pretty good portion on each plate. We went as a group of 6 and we had plenty of food to share per plate. Good service. We used the 15% off coupon for if you pay in cash, which was pretty sweet. I tried to surrender the coupon to the waiter, but he told me to keep it so that I could use it again next time. How thoughtful!

There is not that many places that can get Mei Fun correct. And these folks did not disappoint. Decent prices on lunch specials as well as very clean atmosphere. **Spoiler Alert going there for lunch today** hehe…

Yummy food. Big portions. Same great chef from the original Golden Temple. We had lobsters, crabs, sweet n sour pork, clams and many many more. Their scallion pancake is delicious. Will definitely return and highly recommended.

The food here is very inconsistent. Sometimes it’s excellent and sometimes everything is just a little bit off. The flavors of the food are just missing. The fried rice and dim sum specials have always been perfect and crave — inspiring to give credit where credit is due. However the soup, dumplings and meat dishes have good and bad days. Beautiful restaurant with great service– fresh tea and homemade crispy noodles and duck sauce make it pleasant to dine in. It can be really good so when it isn’t I’m always very disappointed.

My initial review was based on a lunch visit eaten in the restaurant. It was wonderful and led me to believe more great things to come in future visits. Now having eaten dinner there and subsequently taking out a dinner order I am better able to review my experiences. Firstly let me preface by saying the owners of the place are very affable friendly people who try to make your experience there a great one… but, I truly believe its the kitchen thats responsible for putting out so so food… they need to try what the kitchen is putting out to see what the customer is experiencing. We tried Beef Chow Fun… weighed about 3 lbs and all the noodles were a glutonous mass and getting them apart was not possible… not what we expected. I have never been served something so unappetizing and tasteless and this again goes back to the kitchen. Also tried Chicken and Eggplant in Garlic Sauce. This dish was prepared not in garlic sauce but a oily based sauce that gave us pause when trying to eat it… again not what we expected… we had to trash these two dishes which are Cantonese staples and not something that is hard to prepare correctly. If this type of food continues to come out of the kitchen I for one cannot continue to recommend this establishment. I am only highlighting my recent visit as I could go on. We want this place to prosper and provide another great choice for Chinese Cuisine, and I truly hope the folks in charge take charge and do some quality control on their food. We need consistency in our food so when we come to you we know we know what to expect. .Not a hit or miss experience.

My first time visit with the family for Christmas Eve dinner. Nothing was open and our favorite Chinese restaurant was experiencing 30 minute wait and it was not going to happen with my 2 year old. We decided to head down the block to this restaurant. I was hoping they offer some real Chinese food and they claimed they do. Nothing was real but Americanized Chinese food. Even their«real» Chinese food were not authenticate. I should’ve ordered my General Tso chicken and would have had a better experience. I would just stick to your typical American dishes here. The food wasn’t bad if you come with average expectations.

I have to say this is such a worst restaurant that I have been so far. Terrible services! This is my second time been here, I ordered the exactly same lunch from their Chinese menu as first time I came, Barely can see the meat and they charged me more!!(There’s no lunch price on Chinese Menu) I definitely won’t come back again! The service was bad, they never refill your water unless you ask… Worst diner-in experience ever.

We came here with a decent sized group and were able to share several big bowls of dan dan mian and niu rou mian. We also ordered several other plates, both dim sum and dessert. I think GT2 has a really strong noodle soup game. I would gladly come back and try the two bowls I had again. However, I’d probably re-order only a few of their dim sum offerings. My favorite was the fried sesame ball with meat filling(Jian dui?). It was fried perfectly with a rich savory ground meat filling. I’m glad I found another option while on the island!

Could be the worst restaurant experience I ever had. From the cold food and terrible service, it would too hard to describe just how terrible this place was.

On a return visit for take-out, I was greatly disappointed with my experience at Golden Temple 2. Upon picking up my order, I presented a non-expired 15% coupon for dine-in or take-out. Although there was nothing on the coupon that stated the discount excluded holidays, the cashier refused to accept the coupon. A man who appeared to be an owner or manager was sitting nearby during this exchange, but did not offer any assistance in the matter.(Good customer service would have been to give the customer the benefit of the doubt and accept the coupon since it appeared to be valid in writing.) To add insult to injury, I got home to find that one of the entrees I ordered was completely incorrect even though the correct items were listed on the receipt. If not for the decent food, I would not return to Golden Temple 2 considering this establishment’s customer service. The restaurant is a bit of a distance from my house, and it would not be work the trip otherwise.

This property had been a blessing for American Chinese food lovers. I always came here weekly when it was known as Empire Szechuan, Dao, Tao, Hao and the likes(my grandfather had special connections with the owner), and all incarnations of the place were delicious. However, the newly christened Golden Temple, is outstanding in terms of traditional and authentic Chinese food. Never have I had such amazing Chinese food, being half Chinese and having my grandparents eat NOTHING but authentic Chinese(while snubbing at those who didn’t), this opinion may be worth a little more than a grain of salt. Spicy wontons and three cup chicken are not to be missed. The wontons hold a splendid pork and chive filling(though filled a bit sparingly), and are surrounded by a sauce fit for gods, a perfect combination of spice and peanut, simply amazing. The three cup chicken is the absolute best anywhere. Perfectly flavored, and heaven knows that when one flavor profile in this dish is off, its entire flavor becomes overbearing with that one flavor profile. This one is perfectly made with everything you could ever wish for in this dish. Other amazing dishes include flounder filet, mapo tofu, and their sautéed string beans. I cannot say anything bad about this place, amazing in respect to food, service, and ambience. I love the fact that this restaurant opened in this exact location, as a tribute to all of the excellent restaurants that have occupied this space, and that my grandparents can access good, authentic food with making the trek to Flushing. It is seriously a God sent gift to this community.

Great place just like their original location. Same great chef. This location also has hong kong style dim sum. I went here twice so far. I would recommend the scallion pancakes and the beef noodle soup. I also liked the beef and broccoli. The taste was very authentic like from my grandma’s kitchen! I don’t think you could get much better chinese food even if you visited Flushing Main Street. Check out some of the pictures i added a few weeks ago.
