Are they going for a record of how many times a restaurant can open/shut down in different reincarnations in the shortest period of time? Chinese food for old people. Basic no-frills food just like those strip mall«$ 5.99 Lunch Special» places. Why bother?

I was at DSW next door and decided to stop in to look over the lunch menu for some takeout. They have a sushi lunch takeout as well as Chinese. The lunch menu is very limited. Comes with entrée, rice and soup. Too pricey IMO for Chinese lunch specials I spent around $ 10.50 for mine and a place by me is around $ 6 and comes with a drink. I placed my order the lady who took it offered me a seat while I waited. I probably waited 5 mins which was very fast. Got shrimp in lobster sauce with brown rice. I live close to 20 mins away from this place and by the time I brought it home the food was still really really hot. The shrimp were large and the sauce was ok a little on the salty side and had too much egg in it. The peas in it were huge ! Probably 3x the size of a normal pea haha. The portion was just right for me I was full after and only had two spoonfuls of egg drop soup(which was super thick, eh) I did like the container the lunch special was in because it kept the rice separate from my main meal. Overall fast service, lackluster food, a little pricey for Chinese.

I’ve had lunch there twice so far and the food is really good here. Hot and Sour soup is delicious. Ordered the General Tso’s and Jumbo Shrimp with vegetables and both were very good. The General Tso’s was NOT too sweet and the very generous shrimp portions for a lunch special and veggies were fresh and crisp. All around, highly recommend. I’m going back to try mo’ stuff!

I hate to do this, but after eating here last week, GT is 86’d for this guy. I’ve never been to a Chinese food restaurant where you actually NEED salt for your dish. The food was totally bland. It still looks good inside(minus the bathroom, which makes you feel like you’re in an airplane) and the staff is A-OK, so even average Chinese junk food would be fine for me… but it’s not even up to that level. The food is just so below par. Am I ordering the wrong things? Maybe?! But I see similar reviews on here. Sorry, GT!
