If you’re in the neighborhood stop in. If not plan on making the trip. Very nice spot with a good beer selection and very good food. Congenial staff and pleasant clientele make this a great local place to grab a bite and a cold beer. Lots of TVs to catch sports action. I recommend Townsend to everyone.

It’s third name in 2 years… the bar on the corner of Jackson Ave & Convent Rd is back… again! Just like it’s predecessors, Publick House is a great neighborhood spot to grab a beer and watch a game. The internet jukebox is fun after you’ve had a few and the daily specials(Tuesday whiskey tastings, AYCE wings on Wed, AYCE mussles on Mon, etc.) are a great excuse to hit this local tavern. The beer list isn’t overly expansive, but it has many crafts on tap and even more bottles available. Def something for everyone to drink. Unfortunately, the food was hit-or-miss. My reuben was fatty and greasy, a complete mess to eat. The smashed potato balls were eh. However, the wings were good(ask for them well done!) and the PH burger(bleu cheese, bacon, cheddar) was kick a$$, provided you don’t mind dropping $ 15 for a burger at a pub.

Syosset a lovely town so lacking in a good place to have a relaxing pub comfort food meal Oh my goodness come to the Townsend publick house I hate bars and noisy places and blasting music the publick house is None of these Relaxing gray and black interior it feels homey oh there are TVs but you can’t hear them… close captioning if you feel the need Friendly bar tender the bar is on the side the bar is not what the publick house is This is a comfort food lovers oasis We started off with smashed potatoes, the best onion rings(really) I ever had and a large warm pretzel(the pretzel at 7 bucks fell short of expectation though nice and hot I suspect it’s a frozen super pretzel) The menu is filled with comfort foods burgers, hearty sandwiches(such as a Reuben) salads and yes the fish tacos Delish My Mac and cheese was also delightful Everything was served piping hot Spotless clean even the bathroom was nice Super friendly waitress We actually sat and relaxed for over 2 hours no pressure People have the wrong idea about this place now that I know what it really is, way better then a diner. This is my new favorite restaurant for sure I’ll be back

Really really really good burger. Had the reuben egg-rolls as well — delicious, but didn’t outshine the burger. I’ll have to go again, I liked the menu. Smart diverse choices and not too much. I hear the soups are worth stopping by for. Beside the eats — its a nice little pub. TV’s all over — but volume down and music playing. Interesting beer choices. You won’t be disappointed

Possibly the best chicken wings on Long Island. This is a hidden gem I stumbled upon while waiting for the LIRR one night. The wings came about less than half a pints time and I was thirsty. I can’t speak to the rest of the menu. What was great about the wings was the crispy texture and right amount of sauce. The wing meat could have been a little heavier. I’ll update as I make my way though all the wing flavors

Seated quickly, given ice cold beverages, fresh burgers and crisp cold salads. A mix of music overhead, tvs are located throughout the bar. Good crowds on Thursday Friday and Saturday. Offers specials in drinks of the season. This spot is good for groups, families and especially sports Individuals

Came here with a group for dinner. Pretty much a standard pub with a dining area. There are several TVs showing sports but with muted sound, background music playing and lack of rowdy crowds it doesn’t have the atmosphere of a sports bar. I ordered a burger with mushrooms, swiss and a side of sweet potato fries. Burger was cooked perfectly and was too big to fit in my mouth. Sweet potato fries were tasty and the onion rings are thick cut the way I like them. My girlfriend says the regular fries were really good. Kudos to the owner for letting us park our car there overnight after our vehicle was rendered un-drivable due to a dead battery in they key fob.
