5 stars for the following: –reasonably priced drinks($ 5 for a beer) –attentive bar staff –existence of backyard –bonfire pits in the backyard –dj and strobe lights

We frequent benjamins as many residents of syracusr do and we have had several problems with the bouncers. Tonight we were trying to enter as usual and they refused our 29 yr old friends valid kentucky id. we showed evidence she is who she stated including work id and credit card and they still refused. They stated they are refusing all kentucky and ohio ids. This is a backwards establishment and should have a scanner id they are refusing legal ids or legal age adults.

I am from KY definitely 29 years old and they wouldn’t accept my ID. I Showed them my passport and they still would not accept my ID. I don’t know if they were being racist or not but it was not acceptable.

This was my first visit to Benjamin’s, though I’ve heard a lot about this place for the past year that I’ve lived in the area. When we arrived(myself and three other women), there was a line waiting to get in, and of course, one of the bouncers made people wait longer when their«bros» showed up. I thought that only happened with young, hot girls in scantily clad skirts… but not in Syracuse! Lol. Inside, there was a $ 10 cover charge, which… again…it’s Syracuse, so I was again shocked. It seemed to be busy and the place to be, as there is a large dance area, bar and other areas, but unless you’re there to dance, to me, it seems like an overpriced venue. Not sure I’ll give it a go again with the drink prices and cover charge, as I could go to Limericks or Al’s down the way and pay far less, while not dealing with lines and excess bodies.

I hosted my wedding pre-party here on a Friday night in August and it was fantastic. We had the whole patio of with the giant fire pit to ourselves. The staff was great about catering to our party and taking care of the open bar. I was thrilled with how everything turned out and all our guests had a great time. As the night went on, the venue got busier and our party was mingled with other patrons so that party got bumpin. We went out on the dance floor and had a blast. I would definitely be back.

So myself and my friends were here the other night, having a great time till some people who had obviously drank to much got out of control. I can’t say enough about the bouncer, he was respectful but stern and removed them promptly, they tried to fight and scream but he was very professional. Chris and I talked later and he said«these things happen» but nothing disparaging about those he removed. Nice to know there are still safe places in this town, and when things get out of control it is taken care of.

Awesome DJ, Awesome bartenders… but I honestly will call this one that I give it about two years before this place closes down. Just read other reviews on other websites of how rude and pushy the bouncers are it’s going to be the down fall of this establishment because of some certain bouncers lol a lawsuit if there is not one yet heading their way because they like to place their hands on a woman :).

When it’s –8° outside and«feels like» –30° they wouldn’t even let anyone stay just inside the doors while waiting for a cab. Can always count on rude, uncaring people there. Seems pretty typical from what I’ve heard before about this place

Best night club in Syracuse downtown. It’s a considerably big place. It has a bar and dance floor where the DJ spins. On the whole, this place is fun.

Left people sitting out in the rain to make their bar more valuable. Worthless. I said why are we standing out in the rain, guess you don’t want my money and the bouncer says, we don’t want your money lol. Clearly you don’t as we went to Empire, a much much better establishment. Place was packed and they still got us in instantly.

Ryan was the greatest mixologist I’ve ever met! He recommended the best drink I was looking for and really took care of me and my friends. Thank you Ryan

Would not let me into the venue because I was wearing camo khakis, a shirt, and tie. Said«due to dress code.» Only bar in Syracuse that charges a cover. Conceited bouncers and employees. Really a shame.

The DJ sucks. The fact that he is too busy singing to his own songs and can’t see he has emptied the dance floor shows he sucks at life and is oblivious to his own profession. People are standing around and not feeling his music. Duh. I don’t want to dance to neyo. Wtf. I requested some songs and he said he can’t. So if you want to dance to PG13 music. Go here

Nice place but the music does not cater to people of color. It has potential but honestly not worth it to me :(. They should look to have at least a reggae night. I was disappointed

Decided to go here for drinks. This is a great find. It was quiet for a Friday night but might have to do with being a holiday weekend. They have a great draft selection and a really nice courtyard. The only drawback is that they do not serve any food. We did ask the bartender if you could bring in takeout from elsewhere and he said that you could. This place is definitely worth checking out. The courtyard is a great place to chill out!

Hands down the best club in Syracuse to let loose! Every Friday and Saturday night, the music is off the chain and the patio is an experience filled with ambience unlike any other, the most comfortable furniture in any bar I’ve been to in Syracuse. Every Sunday morning leaving Benjamin’s I impatiently anticipate the next coming Friday for the few hours of the blissful sublime. Not to mention the alacrity with which bartenders maneuver through the abundance of customers on any given weekend. Overall, a must for any visitor or townie:)

I love this place. The weather can make it hit or miss, but most of the time it’s awesome. There is a bar section, and a dance floor with a DJ. Always great music and a great atmosphere. There are couches in the back of you just want to lounge. In the summer they open up the patio and have space heaters which is awesome. The bar tenders are extremely friendly, and absolutely incredible to military. The owner is usually there and is an incredible guy. Anytime I’m staying in Syracuse, I’m going to B on Franks!

One star for being culturally unaware and insensitive. They have a «no head gear policy» and harassed a friend of mine over his head wrap. He is Sikh! Prefer to go places that don’t have discriminatory practices. The bouncer is rude and demeaning to customers. The bar service inside is great but will not be going here again after that incident.
