Great food and service. The owner is also very helpful and friendly, I come here at least once a week because it’s so good.

Bad experience! I have ordered from this place three times and find the sushi not to be worth the prices. The soup and appetizers however are quite tasty. I am not sure if it is worth the high prices but i love soup when it’s cold outside. I really wanted to like this place. I have gone in twice for take out and ordered two deliveries. This place does not quite cut it for their sushi at all. In fact, i frequent this place for their ramen noodle takatsu soups, crispy crab, octopus, etc. Last weekend i ordered a delivery at 3:30p.m. I was told 30 – 45 minutes. An hour later i call back and was told they would contact the driver and call me back. No call. I call back at 5pm to the employee saying«oh the driver still is not there?» 5:45pm i call back like what the heck! This time the owner comes on and apologizes. He offers to track the food down but at thos point i am not even remotely interested. He insists on cooking me a new order and have it delivered. He told me to take $ 10 off for slow service. My food finally arrives after 6:30/closer to 7pm. I pay the reduced fee and by the suggestion of my mother give a tip. Ugh why! I open my food and my order was made wrong. Instead of pork i was given a chicken dish! I hate chicken. The additional items i requested in my soup did not make it to the second/final order. I call the owner back who asked me «if i paid the deliver driver.» Uhhh yes as that is what we do. Anything else would classify as theft. He informs me that he wanted to give me the food on the house but the driver(an outsourced company) took the money. An hour later, my money is returned to me minus my tip(but of course). Overall, no soup is worth this kind of wait or business confusion. I was disappointed.

I was very excited to discover on my first visit that they have ramen! Because a good bowl of ramen is a wonderful thing. But this was not a good bowl of ramen. It wasn’t bad either. It was just meh. Better than the $.75 version, sure, but probably not 10x better(which was about where it was priced). I guess I should try the sushi next, but I think I’ll steer clear. I have no reason to believe it’s any better than mediocre, and mediocre sushi is just not worth it. So, I don’t know, go to Bleu Monkey Café. It’s just another of the mediocre Asian offerings in the area.

Everytime I come to Bleu Monkey, I order a noodle bowl with tonkatsu broth and ramen because it is BOMB.COM. I always manage to empty out my bowl because it’s just that delicious. I’ve also tried the bento boxes which are decent. The sushi rolls and rice dishes aren’t bad either. I would come back mainly for the noodle bowls because they are my absolute favorite!

Ok so this was my first and last time coming here! I had a few hours to spend since I have a baby at home! I was really looking forward to go out and this was a bad experience! Paying $ 40 for 3 regular rolls that were basically tons of rice is not exactly what I had in mind! The kani salad was just crab meat and that’s not a kani salad! Kani salad has cucumber and masago! Nothing was good or even close to decent! I don’t understand why it has good reviews, maybe sushi is bad… Anyways I will never come back! I left unsatisfied and feeling sick!

Delicous and refined sushi is a lovely dining atmosphere. Gets very busy in the evening and thusly service cam get slow. It is by no means cheap sushi and the location has a precarious parking situation.

Ehh. By no means best. Just a quick fast food like restaurant. Service was terrible and sushi was very ehh. Don’t go in expecting to be having quality sushi. This is more of a college-student budget sushi restaurant. This place ignored one of the things sushi fanatics love about sushi… The art. There was none. It was more of a here a roll worth 8.5 $ in raw fish, veggies and rice.

Surprisingly good sushi, right by the Syracuse campus. Service was good, sushi tasted fresh, and prices were reasonable. Dinner for three with an appetizer and no drinks was about $ 70.

Not good. That’s it. Just not good. At. All. And not clean. Gross food. Bad service. Pretty sure if I had eaten the shrimp on my lackluster salad I would have gotten sick.

I’ll start by saying the food here deserves 3, maybe 3.5 stars. I knocked down my rating because of the service I received while dining at Bleu Monkey. I came in for dinner with a friend and we both ordered Bento Boxes and shared one of the specialty rolls. For being not near the water, I was surprised that the sushi was pretty great. I enjoyed the rest of my Bento box too, it was definitely plenty of food. The place wasn’t all that busy while I was there, but my friend and I rarely saw our waitress. On top of that, the few times we saw her she spilled water all over our table and dumped a full dish of soy sauce all over my friends shirt/pants. Overall, not super impressed but it’s not a bad option for food if you are looking to get a Japanese fix.

Just can’t help but giving five stars(part of the reason may be the extraordinary performance of last meal). Dragon roll and haha roll are my favorite. Every time I go I do order noodle soup. They have all kinds of noodles such as ramen, flat rice, tofu, yam and rice noodle. Pork broth for the noodle soup is preferred. I like the chicken breast because they first grilled it well. I also like the pork belly because of its flavor and texture. I love the chili sauce and I’ll dip the sauce on my food for every bite. Didn’t have the best first impression, but my royalty to this restaurant builds up.

Drop by from out of town for dinner with family. It’s more of a college place with nearby students from Syracuse University dinning. Overall not a bad place. Nice decorations and reasonable prices for Japanese meal. Had the Miso Udon and two bento boxes(one beef n one chicken) Miso udon was fair portion and tasted not bad at all. Chicken bento box was good but beef bento had too much sauce on beef., probably made for Americans. Ordered the mochi ice cream –two mangos and one green tea. Pretty yummy Waitress were decent. Would return next time while in town.

Stopped in for dinner after seeing pictures here. Unfortunately I had a different experience. We ordered a roll, fried octopus, a pork belly, and a beef ramen. The sushi wasn’t to bad itself, a solid 3 stars but everything else was disappointing. The octopus was ‘well done’ to put it nicely, and the pork belly was tough. The ramen itself was pretty unremarkable and didn’t even include a soft boiled egg. If I happen to be in the area and wanted sushi I might stop in, but otherwise not.

Not sure about this place it’s a bit odd. First off the octopus app was a nightmare looked nothing like the other pics on Unilocal.Sushi was ok I’d actually give the sushi 3 stars but the rest has drug down the rating. Also had ramen and I wasn’t impressed. I’ve been to Japan a few times and this was meh ok. Also it had corn which is pretty new to ramen and usually only in northern Japan. But worst of all the corn was frozen corn. I rarely complain about price but this place is a bit excessive for what you get. At almost 50 buck for a roll octopus app and 2 ramen I’d expect not to be served frozen corn at least The server was good Doubt I’ll be back

Short review but I can’t not give them a thumbs up. The staff: amazing. They listen to every order. Did you know you could substitute for brown rice on the rolls? Every crossfitter /paleo-eater/fitfam dream! The diversity in culture among the staff is unbelieveable. The Hill is the perfect place for this spot. No it’s not large but it can accommodate tables of four and the service is quick and clean. I don’t think I’ve ever tipped less than five dollars here. Annnnnnd they deliver off campus! Yeah Boieeeeee! I can sit at my internship on the connective corrider and still treat myself to Bento boxes and sushi lunch roll specials. Happiness

Had a pleasant lunch with good service and a different appetizer a la carte, fried baby octopods! Delicious and similar to fried calamari. Basic sushi rolls aren’t creative, but filling. Good salad with lunch plate. Great for student dining selection off campus.

This review is entirely based off their noodle bowls. There are a couple of sushi places around here, but I have really nothing good to say about them, so I won’t say anything. The best thing about this place is their Tonkatsu broth. It is probably one of the best broths I have ever had. There are a few comparable places in the NYC, but that is 200 miles away… Nothing else is comparable around here. It is absolutely delicious. I would give it 5 stars if it was just the broth I had to judge it on. Look and smell alone makes my mouth water. Something about it just makes it so delicious. They have a couple of noodle choices to go with the soup and they are all pretty bad in my standards. I can go on and on about their noodles, but let’s just say their ramen noodles is probably the best choice to go with. They have a couple types of meats to go with the broth. The pork belly is dry and pretty bland. Tastes as if they cooked it a week ago and froze it for convenience. Chicken looks and tastes rubbery(like those chicken burgers you buy frozen and can microwave). Beef doesn’t taste fresh, but nonetheless it is very flavorful. Seafood is meh: plain and not much to it. Tofu is actually pretty good. Broth alone keeps me coming back. I can bare with their noodles and mediocre proteins, as there broth certainly makes up for it. One downside is you can’t order more noodles. It costs $ 6 to order extra noodles, when the entire bowl itself is ~$ 9… May as well just have another brand new bowl. Would also be nice if we could add additional toppings(like eggs, bean sprouts, etc…). Either way, if you are craving ramen, you should definitely come here and try out their tonkatsu broth. It is well worth it!

Came here the first time and it didn’t live up to my expectations. Came here again and it blew my expectations. Had the beef with rice. Popular sushi dinner place for Syracuse University students.
