I felt as though I stepped back to the 50’s while doing a massive amount of laundry with my elderly Mother at Harris Dry Cleaners and Laundromat yesterday afternoon. The 1950’s where the business owners are there to personally greet you, are attentive to your needs, maintain a clean facility, offer suggestions to help you save money and genuinely make you feel appreciated as a customer. The laundry equipment is modern, functional and plentiful while the prices are low. I don’t live in Syracuse but if I did I would drive out of my way to use the best laundry service I’ve ever experienced.

This is a very clean and very friendly«neighborhood» place. I’ve used them for about 5 years and I’ve always been pleased. It’s the customer service that puts them over the top, very kind and chatty at the counter, which I love. I’ve brought rugs in(4 week turn around), coats, wedding dress, and dress shirts for dry cleaning and all have been returned excellent. I have to say I’m impressed with the wash and fold service. I dropped off nearly a hundred pounds of wash once(Summer, camp, linen, floods, you get the picture) and they called me in about three days to say it was ready. Fast service and they respect customer loyalty because often I find an unexpected discount upon pick up. They offer a delivery service as well, but I’ve never requested it. It’s a small place, and has a coin operated laundry too. If you’re on the West side you’re in good hands with Harris.

Hands down they are the nicest people ever and the service is amazing. I used the wash and fold service for a few years and it was worth every penny.

Horrible place. Don’t go. Bad customer service, bad service. You can’t get answers to your questions.

I have been going to Harris for my dry cleaning and shirt laundry since I began working on the west side of downtown about 4 years ago. I find their prices the best, and I have been very pleased with the quality of work. I know they don’t do the dry cleaning on site, but what difference does that make? The owners are very pleasant and seem to always be present. I wrote on a white shirt with sharpie, they were not optimistic that they could get it out but tried anyway. When it didn’t come out they did not charge me for their effort. I’m a pretty easy customer I’m sure, but they have always met or exceeded expectations and I’ve never had reason to go elsewhere. Working in a service industry myself, I get the struggles and believe they do an excellent job.

I have experimented with 3 laundry services in the Syracuse area before discovering Harris Cleaners. Given the fact I have XY chromosomes, washing, drying, and ironing clothes is my idea of cruel and unusual punishment. I procrastinate as much as possible until I accumulate 30 to 40 lbs of aromatic laundry. Then, I will bring it somewhere for cleaning with a wash and fold service. I tried other local services and was pleased but found it to be expensive(up to $ 1.75 per pound). Now, since I tried Harris, I can have my laundry washed and folded for only $ 1.00 per pound when I have more than 30lbs. Less than 30 lbs still only costs $ 1.25 per pound. The price includes your choice of detergent, fabric softener, or bleach. All of my casual shirts are hung on hangars so, I only have to hang them up in a closet when I get back to my place. Every time, the clothes are perfectly cleaned, neatly folded and hung, wrapped in plastic or placed in large plastic bags. It truly is a wonderful drop off and pick up service. Often, I am offered same day service but, I don’t normally need my clothes the same day so, I come to get my clean laundry a day or two later. They also offer dry cleaning and I bring my suits and dress shirts. Again, their prices are less than competitors and service is spot on(or should that be spot free?). Their facilities are bright, well lit and very clean. There is plenty of parking of on site. The owners are present and very involved with all aspects of the business and treat me, and other customers, very nicely. Keep up the good work !!!

Where to begin? I dropped off a coat on Tuesday Nov.12th to be dry cleaned. Liz Harris asked me when I wanted to pick it up. I replied«how about Friday»?” No problem” she said. I show up and low and behold no coat. Not only on coat but they have no idea where it is! After numerous phone calls and hours later they located it. By the way they DONOT dry clean on site! After a confusing conversation we agreed that I would pick it up on Monday. I guess I was confused because I stopped in at 12:30 and it hadn’t come in yet! I admit to dropping the f’bomb in my frustration(I needed to mail it out to my daughter) and suggested that they drop it off to my house. Liz looked at me like I had 8 heads! The older women who works there said she would drive it over as I only live a few miles from the cleaners. So, there is a Patricks dry cleaners next door to Harris. Guess where I will be taking my things to be cleaned?

I have been using Harris Cleaners for the last two years while I was in graduate school at Syracuse. The price is a little expensive at $ 1/lb, but it has saved me countless number of hours. The couple who run the place are extremely professional and always prompt/flexible with my schedule. The rates for dry cleaning are very reasonable and they have always done a good job. The folding is just like the department store and the lady puts my dress/polo shirts on a hanger so it’s very easy for me to hang them. Overall, very pleased!
