Great service, clean atmosphere, and excellent food! Today I had the Country Eggs Benedict. Wow! Perfectly poached eggs and rich sausage gravy. Prices are fair, portions are big. Just get here early on the weekend.

Much better than last time. Hot fries this time… Excellent fried eggs which doesn’t sound much but isn’t that easy. Good portion of bacon and raisin toast. Tasty strong hot coffee. Friendly fast service. Clean restrooms too!!! Definitely will come back.

Best diner on this side of town(arguably in Syracuse). The food is delicious while not being greasy or heavy. The wait staff is «snarky,» but they encourage kids to go behind the counter to retrieve their own fruit snacks. Personal favorites: strawberry topped Belgian waffle with a side order of home fries(yum!). My husband always gets the Nestico’s frittata with cinnamon raisin toast. The menu isn’t exactly innovative or revolutionary, but it is comfort food served fast and in a clean environment. I don’t get out for breakfast much, but when I do, it’s always here.

Ultimate favorite spot to grab breakfast, there has been a wait the few times that I have gone but it is defiantly worth it, the food is amazing! For quick service I sit at the bar. Best breakfast deal is the Farm House Platter, it has three eggs, two bacon strips, two sausage links, ham steak, home fries and toast and its a very reasonable price.

Nestico’s…Too! has been well reviewed on Unilocal and has received publicity through the local rag, the Syracuse Post-Standard’s diner or best breakfast challenge. I planned to visit a top rated diner and enjoy a great diner experience based reviews assessing atmosphere, service and, of course, food. The first challenge I encountered was simply finding the place. The listed address is correct, however, the business is hidden behind a Valvoline Oil change establishment and has no signage visible from the road. So, after a driving by a few times, I turned into the strip mall and explored to find Nestico’s. Little had I known it would not be worth the effort. On a rainy midday Saturday, I was able to park and then enter the«diner». Upon entering and viewing what was before me, I realized it’s not a traditional diner. The layout and bright, overly illuminated atmosphere was immediately impressionable as uninviting. One has a choice of seating at the counter, many booths swathed in a delightful green vinyl or some limited number of tables. Since the counter seating was entirely empty, I took a seat at the counter. The seats are comfortable and provide a view into their open kitchen. They have at least 8 professional grade waffle makers and, based on my reading, they are known for their waffles. My sights were set on other breakfast items. Since I was at the empty counter, I expected attentive service, which I did receive. Coffee was promptly offered and refills continued without asking. The coffee was freshly brewed, but, was barely drinkable. This was some of the worst coffee I had in a diner or, for that matter, anywhere.(I hate Starbucks and I finally found something worse…) The menu was appealing and didn’t present 23 pages of options, which often makes choosing so difficult. It was nice and concise. I selected the country eggs Benedict: an English muffin with corned beef, topped with poached eggs, covered in sausage gravy and diced tomatoes accompanied with home-fries. Yum, I thought. I awaited this wonderful twist on eggs Benedict. Allow me to cut to the chase… the first impression was that the food looked identical to other photos posted on Unilocal.Upon receiving my dish, it immediately revealed that the portion of homefries was a few pieces of greasy, listless, warm potatoes scattered on the plate. In general, I expect a generous portion of well prepared, freshly made home fries… not here. The sausage gravy was bland. The two poached eggs were prepared with one almost well done while the second was properly prepared. I still enjoyed these eggs despite the inconsistent preparation. The corned beef was questionable. It was was clearly from a food service can and was not homemade. Corned beef and corned beef hash usually have a pink color due to the use of sodium nitrite(NaNo2) as a preservative, curing and coloring agent. One can make it without NaNO2 but. that is not the norm. This corned beef was grey in color and very dull in flavor(can I say it sucked??) The service was attentive but, as I have experienced in the South(of the USA vs the equator), the hospitality was forced and saccharin sweet. In other words, an overly exaggerated effort was made to be sweet to the customer. It was obsequious, ingratiating and suspected to be disingenuous. I could be wrong about the motivation for the service but, I thoroughly maintain that the food, coffee and atmosphere was dismal.

Wonderful breakfast, seems there is always a wait to get a table but it’s worth it. Fretta is the best I’ve ever had, quality ingredients not just full of potatoes like some places. Portions are plenty for most, service is decent and friendly

As we cruised up 81 towards ‘Cuse I found myself counting down the exits. Only 5 more… 4…3…2…1…NESTICO’s! You’d count down too if you were headed back to this place… The waitresses here are just the sweetest. And they recently renovated and expanded*… so even on a crowded Saturday morning you shouldn’t have to wait long for a table. Oh and the food is just delicious. My favorites include the meat-lovers frittata(huge order for less than $ 8), the Belgian waffle(starts at $ 4, add on fruit and/or chocolate chips for $ 1 each), and the breakfast burrito. Make sure whatever you order comes with home fries — they’re amazing. ** Best breakfast spot in town. And it just gets better and better every single time I come home. *Since my last visit in October they added in at least 8 tables and redid the bathrooms. **While most meals DO come w/home fries — on the off chance that your meal doesn’t — order some! I think its $ 1.99 for a nice size portion.

NO. The service is very slow and the food is not fresh at all. My family used to come here for breakfast(when management used to care about the quality). We had a bad experience with the manager when we came here for lunch one Saturday… The chicken did not taste fresh and instead of taking the item off the bill the manager decided to argue with us in front of other customers. She further threatened to call the police when we told her that we were not paying for that item. Not worth the hassle so we paid, left the restaurant, and will never be coming back. I know that this is just a diner and should not expect much but it saddens me that what used to be a hidden gem has clearly given up by hiring bad management.

Great service(and with a sense of humor!), fresh ingredients, and careful preparation in separate pans to avoid gluten cross-contamination. Oh yeah, and the food is tasty too. My wife and I ate here twice, once with my sister and her beaux joining us, and everything was consistently well prepared. Even the coffee surpassed our expectations. One thing I really like about this restaurant is that nothing is greasy or overseasoned, which seems to be a common malady among diners. Even the corn beef hash was mild. I guess what I’m trying to say is that, while the portions are plentiful and simply prepared, the flavors are subtle and clean — that’s the only way I know how to describe it. My wife also enjoyed her French toast, which she said was the best she’d ever had. Oh, and I ordered a Reuben to go(they have GF bread for this) and it didn’t make it out of the restaurant — after sampling the sandwich I finished it right then. In any case I highly recommend this spot for breakfast, though you should be ready for a wait on weekends. Also, parking is a hassle. But if we’re ever back this way, we’ll definitely make it here for another meal.

Overall not a bad breakfast spot with pretty good service. Had the eggs biscuits and gravy but they were nothing to write home about. Hash browns were cold but could have been the fact I was there for a late breakfast/brunch. Still, not a great excuse. Pancakes were legit though. The End.

I’ve been eating here every Sunday morning for several years. I come with my best friend and we always go at 7am so there’s no wait for a table. Food and service are excellent. My fave is the corned beef hash and eggs. They always check on you to make sure u have plenty of coffee. The coffee is just meh, but there’s plenty if it and its hot. Helps you make it through the amazing omelets, waffles, etc. if they had better coffee and used yellow onions instead of red ones in their homefries, I would give them 10 stars. They still get 5 stars for me as they run the cleanest and friendliest place on the west side. That’s why I’m a regular.

This place isn’t anything fancy but they don’t need to be. The food is great and the staff is excellent. Jess was my waitress. She treats everyone like they’re a regular and made me feel right at home. My eggs were perfectly poached. If you eat poached eggs you know it’s sometimes a crap shoot. This were literally perfect.

After a doctor’s appt. I had to fast for, I stopped by Nestico’s with a big appetite and a craving for some comfort food. Imagine my delight when I walked in for a late lunch and found a meatloaf sandwich on the specials chalkboard! I hunkered down at the counter, and despite a little bit of a wait for service, I eagerly ordered one of my favorite meals– meatloaf, mashed potatoes and hot veggies. The sandwich only came with one side, but I ordered the mixed veggies in addition, and boy, was I glad I did!(more on that later) My «sandwich» arrived with two thick slabs of meatloaf on a grilled piece of garlic bread, which I wasn’t expecting. Most diners slap a couple of pieces of white bread on the plate, and I was so hungry, I was willing to accept even that. But the added flavor dimension of the bread in this case, really elevated the already delicious meat loaf to another level. The meatloaf was hot, moist(even at 2 pm) and had nice chunks of onion and peppers mixed in. The gravy was OK, not sure it was home made, but the fresh mashed potatoes, made the way I love them-slightly chunky– were amazing. Gravy was not needed, but I love the contrast of the beefy gravy flavor to the slightly salty potatoes(I added a dab of butter since my cholesterol levels were good). Now, for the nicest surprise– the veggies. I expected very little when I ordered them, since most places throw some soggy mixed vegetables that have seen better days, even if they are fresh. But this small dish of perfectly cooked yellow baby carrots, red peppers, broccoli and onion was a fitting accompaniment to the comfort I was experiencing from the main dish. I love to take a piece of veggie, and smear it with some mashed potatoes. This was indeed, heaven. I will be back and try to find some more unexpected delights. I’m getting hungry again thinking about that day!

Sunday brunch, a few weeks ago. Went with a crowd and everyone was happy and satisfied. Some had breakfasty things, but I went for Dinner: Moe’s East Utica Chicken (Fresh escarole sautéed with hot peppers, garlic, bacon, romano cheese and bread crumbs topped with sliced, grilled chicken breast and mozzarella cheese, then baked) for $ 8.99 It was so amazing that I’m not sure I can go back to that restaurant and get something else. - I’ll have to go with friends so that we can share the food around.

Moved to the Westside in September but today was the first time we visited this spot. Pleasantly surprised! I am always complaining the Westside doesnt have enough non-chain places to grab dinner or brunch. This will become a regular breakfast spot. We really enjoyed the food. I had the special, blueberry ricotta pancakes. My fiancé had the other special, greek omlette. Both were exceptional. Much better than typical diner food. I also want to note how pleasant the staff were. They were slammin but no one seemed stressed and everyone appeared to work really well together. Look forward to going back to try dinner.

Ventured to Nestico’s Too to try to only one of the Syracuse Post-Standard’s diner challenge that we’d not tried before. A word of warning — Sunday at 10am in NOT a good time to visit Nestico’s Too! We ended up waiting about a half hour in a very crowded entry way(it was raining outside) but the food was definitely worth the wait. We ended up sitting at the counter as that was the first available. I tried the frittata(fretta) and it is one of the best I have had in Syracuse. A nice mix of eggs, veggies, meat and not too many potatoes. My husband had an omlette and reported it was very good as well. They had a special of pumpkin pancakes that we may head back to try before the holiday season ends. Definitely worth the drive across town for us East-siders to visit Nestico’s Too!

I wondered why there are no reviews since last year. Hmmm… Saturday noon time. Wait was not bad. It’s a bit cold waiting in the lobby. Seated and asked for drinks right away. Waitress came a bit later to get orders. Cute, homey, cozy place. Friendly and smiling staff. Waiting for food was a bit longer than expected but it was good. We both had combos to try all the goods, pancakes, Belgian waffles, home fries, etc. The home fries were very good, pancakes were great to my liking. My husband liked his waffle. We loved it all and will be back!
