Staff was very friendly and attentive. We had chicken and biscuits(nightly special) and lasagna. Very disappointed. No flavor to the chicken and biscuits that were homemade that day. Taste was very bland. Lasagna was nothing to rave about. Definitely much better at numerous other places in the area. We went because of Unilocal reviews and wish we had tried some place else. Won’t be going back.

First the cons, small place so when it’s crowded, it’s crowded! Also the booths are very small which is okay if you are a group of 4 or less petite or slender diners. So you may want to get in early for a table. Lastly, they don’t have a liquor license. Some may view this as a con, but really it’s a perk because you can bring your own adult beverages for a fraction of the price. Every loves a nice glass of wine with a great Italian meal. The pros are everything else, mainly the food and the close tight-knit staff who work there. I’ve never had a bad meal including soup, salad, bread, etc. here. The waitresses are sweet familiar faces you’ll see every time. Some times the service seems slightly slow, but it may be because the cook/owner is busy making every thing with love from scratch. You can taste it. If you are one of those people who’s in a hurry to get everything right now, and you’re willing to compromise quality, then don’t go here. But if you like to savor your meal, relax, and converse with your dinner companions, you’ll be glad you came here. Family is welcome too!(kids)

Cute little place right by the Syracuse airport. I went here with my dad for dinner and had a decent time. The staff was very friendly. We sat in a booth, it wasn’t the most comfortable(the seats are all benches), but it did fine. I ordered an Eggplant Parmesan while my dad received the veal over prosciutto with mushrooms. The eggplant parm was delightful — 4 generous servings of breaded eggplant and a side plate of pasta. I would have preferred they mix the two plates together, but I just put them all on one plate. The eggplant was crispy and delightful and the breading was very well done. The pasta was firm, yet not overcooked. The dish came with a soup or salad. I got the fagioli soup and it was decent. Some beans and macaroni, but could have used a bit more spice and flavor. The bread served with everything was very basic. All in all, I’d say this place is A-OK; average prices(plan 15 – 20 per entrée), average interior, execution on the eggplant parm was pretty well done(so I would def recommend the dish).

My girlfriend and I heard good things about Sorrento’s referred to my friends on Unilocal to confirm and the scored pretty well so we decided to check it out. The location is tucked into plaza and the inside is small inside and a bit dated. We were told we could sit anywhere Our waitress although took quite a bit of time before greeting us. However she was polite. She brought us warm Italian bread which was fresh and pretty good. I have been on a bit of a meatball mission lately so I decided I would try them here, however I thought I would start things off with a med bowl of Pasta Beans. My GF choose the homemade Cavatelli with marinara sauce. When the pasta and beans arrived a med bowl is quite large although it looked good it was poorly seasoned and required me adding salt and pepper. It also had a smokey flavor I’m guessing from pancetta. I know pasta beans can have a ton of variations from the different regions of Italy however I did not care for it and only had a few spoonfuls. Meatballs arrived the menu indicated they where pan fried with a side of marinara. Meatballs had pretty good flavor and sauce did as well Personally I don’t mind my meatballs fried but do like them to sit in the sauce for a bit to soak up the flavor. Overall I would give the meatball about a 3 out of 5 stars and the sauce a 4 out of 5 stars. GF Cavatelli was a very large portion suitable for sharing, again the sauce was the star. You can BYOB if you so desire. They have been in this N. Syracuse location for 5 years but on Lodi street for a very long time. I’m sure they have loyal following of customers, but unfortunatly I won’t be one of them. There are plenty of Italians restaurants in the CUSE so we doubt we will back. Dinner for two was $ 30.00

BYOB– they don’t serve alcohol, OK to bring your own. We had to go next door to the car wash to get beers, no wine… bummer.

A nice Italian restaurant situated by the Syracuse airport and quite easy to miss if you are not looking hard enough. The prices, portions, and food are average and what one would expect for such an establishment. I’m not sure how this place got a $ cost rating since most of the dishes are $$ which is pretty average. The wait staff was nice and responsive to our needs and pleasant. I had their chicken parm and some appetizers were good but not the best that I have had around here. Slightly, disappointed given the reviews on Unilocal which certainly influenced my expectations of this restaurant. Try this place if your looking for a new Italian place but there are better in Syracuse. Dishes tried: Chicken Parm: 4⁄5 Calamari: 3⁄5

Small place that is very easy to miss, even if you live in the area. Super close to the airport and many other restaurants. It is kind of small and hidden even though it shares a parking lot with the popular Julie’s Diner. When you walk in, the place is very cute. Old movie posters and fun wine cork decorations. We were seated immediately when we arrived around 6:30pm. There was only one other occupied table and you could tell the wait staff was excited when we arrived. We tried to order wine but were informed that they are BYOB which I thought was very cool. We will need to remember that for next time for sure. The fresh warm bread that comes to the table is amazing. Soup or salad comes with every meal which is great. Dressing was good and the special soup that day(I wish I could remember what it was called) was delicious. I ordered the Chicken Francaise and the portion was huge. Even came with a side of pasta with my choice of sauce(could also get a few potato choices). It was enough for my dinner that night and lunch the next morning. The sauce was so flavorful and delicious. A couple of my friends got the fried haddock and raved about it. We did not stay for dessert, but the meal was a good value. With tip, I paid $ 22. The servers were very polite and kept our drinks full without being too overbearing. Will definitely try this place again.

By far is as close to home as you can get. We go here all the time and never had a bad meal. The wait staff is as friendly as it gets and very attentive. The sauce is top notch, meatballs are excellent, past and beans are to die for! I will continue to go here for years to come.

Good simple Italian food, and lots of it! Just what I needed tonight. Next time I’ll remember they don’t have a liquor license, but they encourage you to BYOB.

Out of the restaurants I’ve been to in the Syracuse Airport region, I would consider Sorrento’s to be the best the area has to offer. It was conveniently located near the hotel I was staying at, it has a cozy/warm and inviting atmosphere, and everything is homemade! I had the Chicken Parmesan(which comes with a soup or salad, your choice of pasta, and some bread) and it was the best Chicken Parmesan I’ve had in a long time, hands down. The chicken was cooked perfectly, maintaining a crunchy crust on the outside while keeping the meat moist on the inside, and it had just the right amount of sauce to keep it company. Add on a generous helping of mozzarella on top and it was complete! I would definitely recommend getting a salad along with it(even if you opt for the soup on the side) as I find salads go rather well with a dish like this. I was not expecting much with the food here since I’ve visited a few other restaurants in the area, but I was pleasantly surprised. I’m definitely going to Sorrento’s again before I leave the area! :D

Recently visited on a busy Friday night. Service was top notch. Food was great except my Baked Haddock with Lemon Butter could have used a little more flavor. The broccoli side was out of this world. I’ve never tasted better. The pasta & bean soup was fantastic. My hubby had the lasagna and said it was great. They don’t have their liquor license yet, so you’re allowed to bring your own beer or wine. Their portions are just right(no doggie bag here) and their prices are reasonable.

Everything is amazing. The tiramisu is incredibly light and melts in your mouth. Red sauce wonderful and not heavy and the pasta is made there. I have never had a bad meal, the steak sandwich and hamburger on the lunch menu are so mouthwatering and flavorful none other compares. Dinner try the soup to start they are perfection and make you want to order a big bowl as your meal but don’t because them you’d miss out on the chicken sorrento or chicken Piccada or chicken francios all great. If they have asiago grilled filet medallions order them unbelievable! I cannot stress how great the food is! & they are so warm and welcoming, love this place!
