The store has good prices and a decent selection of items. It is great for finding outdoor items as well as household furniture and small appliances. They have a grocery section but the selection is limited.

One thing that is a major annoyance when shopping is employees who sit there and socialize or gossip about customers(72nd Street E. store), during transactions, or even if «in between» customers, often neglecting prompt and professional services(to customers). Big Lots often offers wonderful finds in merchandise and prices, although they can also sometimes be a bit chaotic and disorganized. The Pearl Street location is a little more organized then the 72nd Street location. Pearl location store has an associate named JON, and my sister and I would like to offer praise in his service. Everytime shopped there Jon has been polite, not overly chatty, quick and professional. So far interractions with him have not observed the obnoxious, chatty, gossipy retail«fun» and he gets you in and out of the line pretty quickly. Thanks!

This is a great place to find closeout deals and discontinued merchandise, but the store is old and outdated. It’s also very cluttered and not as clean as a newer store. The bargains are hard to beat, though. The grocery section has good prices on lots of brand name products as well as some lesser known brands. The furniture section has a nice variety, and I’ve been happy with the furniture I’ve purchased from other Big Lots locations in the past. If you’re on a budget and looking for ways to stretch your dollar, I suggest you check out Big Lots!
