Sorry, no pictures yet, but let me say this: I loved this place since way back when I was a kid, before it changed names and owners and became a teriyaki joint. I was bummed when it was no longer an Arctic Circle. I figured«There goes those awesome burgers!». WOW, was I in for a shock! They not only KEPT pretty much every burger and other menu item, but they started offering Teriyaki(of course)! What I love is they still have those Fair Burgers! And my favorite menu item? Has to be deep fried mushrooms, something that’s hard to find in fast food joints. The menu here is so huge that it takes a while to decide! The dining area still has the original seating and tables from the Arctic Circle days, and really brings back memories whenever I’m there. You will LOVE this place, I’m sure!

Your average mom & pop burger joint. The food is a little bit high priced for the quality, however the milk shakes ate the best in town and I would even say that they rival the shakes at Frisco Freeze.

Gross I came here to because I saw drive through and cheap burgers. The drive-through is backwards forcing you to use the passenger window. Forget about it. it’s useless. I parked and went in. There was a rounder older gray haired lady who was talking to a bro-ho(you know, all black and hot pink with low rider jeans, piercings and tats. probably rides passenger a lifted Tacoma if she’s in good company.) This chick was loud and disruptive. Very much in the area of redneck. but this is Tacoma. A city where the fast food restaurants are in so much praise over regular restaurants that it turns the city into a ghost town, because of lack of local competition. Another woman walked out the back and took my order since, the older woman was ignoring me. The wait was long. About 10 to 15 minutes. too long. and expensive. $ 10.50 for a double bacon burger small fry and small drink. what a rip. I get up and open it up, They got my order wrong and put cheese on it. disgusting, filmy, plasticy, American cheese. It was on so thick I couldn’t scrape it off without destroying my food. The burgers are the frozen discs you can buy in Safeway for about 5 dollars for a 20 pack. cheap thin, and questionable at best. The fact that they pre-load the burger with ketchup and mayo and then have the nerve to give you two joints of thousand island is ridiculous. what you want me to just drench my skinny mini burgers in sauce?! come on!.. give me some options! treat me like a customer! Place is trash. The burger went straight into the garbage.

Great place to eat. Made to order and worth any wait. We’ve been coming here for years and it’s consistently good. So glad they’re in our neighborhood. Beats the chain places any day! Try their delicious, thick shakes and yummy mushrooms!

Went through the the drive through, ordered a #1 with large fries and the fries were cold and there were almost none and the burger was soggy and not very appetizing. also had to back up about 3 times to get anyone to notice I was at the drive through. I’ll go next door to the other burger place next time

My family and I went in for lunch to the Burger Ranch yesterday afternoon and shortly after leaving we all got very sick. I called the manager and she gave me the we have a good health rating sorry about ya and if u don’t like my response you can call the health department. I am in shock that there was no concern what so ever for me, my boyfriend and our two children who are extremely ill. She offered no refund and gave me the you go to the hospital and prove it routine. Since when do we the customers hold no value to those who we support. I could of gone to a large burger chain but I chose to support a local business and this is what I get for my loyal business. It makes me sad that I am forced to go to the bigger places cause they would care if you and your loved ones got ill from their products. I urge you not to eat at this establishment as not only is the food just so, so but you and your family are neither valued or charished here.

Love this place! My husband took our son here one day as a daddy son day and they loved it so much that they took me back the next day to try it out. The employees were just amazing with my kids who were hyper and all over the place. They even had a box of toys for my kids to keep them busy until lunch arrived.

Good burgers at this fast food joint in Tacoma. The shakes are amazing, thick and tasty but not too sweet. Cherry coke with pieces of cherry in the cup. Mmm mmm good! All the burgers are good, and pricing definitely reflects the amount of burger you get. French fries are my favorite. Salted perfectly with amazing fry sauce. Funky little backwards drive through which is pointless to use, it’s far more comfy to wait inside.

Yummy burgers! Pricing isn’t too bad. The chicken nuggets for the kids meal is delicious and my son loves them.(He hates McDonald’s btw) this is a good old school classic burger joint! The cherry coke is great because they add real cherries instead of just cherry syrup.

My taste in food and dining establishments may be different than others; when I’m looking for good food, I’m not going to let naysayers get in the way. I have lived and worked in Tacoma for years and years, having driven past Burger Ranch thousands of times but never actually stopping by. Well, I just stopped by on my way home from a meeting, and I’m glad I did. The building itself is nothing fancy, just a humble corner restaurant in the same place it has been for decades… but that’s where the fun and uniqueness start. I pulled into the parking lot and approached it the same way I would pretty much any other drive-thru. Boy was I surprised to find out this drive-thru was reversed — the window is on the passenger side of the car! «Well, this will be an interesting food experience,» I thought to myself, not being in a left hand drive car from England. The menu/reader board is straight-up old-school, probably still the same one that was originally installed way-back-when. No pictures, no fancy advert gimmicks, just menu items and prices. I was greeted by a friendly female voice welcoming me to Burger Ranch and offering to take my order. Having not been here before, I asked what was on a couple of their items and she patiently and politely took my order. I went with the Bonanza Burger(minus mayo, because I’m not Canadian) and a chocolate shake and promptly pulled forward. I pulled up next to the window and a young lady promptly climbed up on window sill and leaned down to my car to take my payment and deliver my food. I was immediately struck by the fact that there was no employee uniform here, and each employee was free to express their own individuality as they saw fit. She was polite and friendly and smiled the entire time and said have a good day as I drove away. I left the drive thru and pulled out onto the road and couldn’t wait to delve into the food. A huge chocolate milkshake in a paper cup — none of those fragile plastic jobs like the huge chain places and certainly no plastic slurpee-style lids showing off half-a-cup worth of whipped cream and a crumby little cherry. Nope, this was just straight-up, old-school milkshake the way I remember them as a kid. The french fries were great: thin, warm and crispy and salted to perfection. The burger? Let’s just say that it was everything I could have asked for from a fast food joint. Two ¼ pound beef patties, lettuce, onion, tomato and catsup on a bun — all packaged in a paper wrapping. It was great — not too big and not too small. It took me right back to being a kid again– the smells, the flavors and the textures were all top notch. I can’t wait to go back. Please don’t let the location or the the look send you away — I mean, come on, what are you expecting from a non-chain fast food joint, caviar and wine? It’s good, old-fashioned, all-American and delicious. I think I’ll go back tomorrow…

Yes, it is not much to look at and the food is fairly simply but there is something to be said for good, simple, tasty hamburgers and hot, crisp fries. I usually order 2 Acey Burgers(they’re small) and a large fries with a cherry Coke. The burgers come with shredded lettuce, tomato, sauce(mayo and catsup, see below) and pickles. Like I said, simple, but a really good flavor. The fries are always crisp and hot and thin, the way I like fries. What makes them great are the sauce. Mayo and catsup. Yes, this sauce is usually found at other locations but Burger Ranch seems to have found that secret, elusive balance between the mayo and catsup. Sauce perfection!!! I like the cherry Coke because they use Maraschino cherry juice mixed into the Coke and put in a few cherry tidbits. Yummy!!! So, simply, hot, tasty. Just a great place for a quick burger.

I was driving through the area and saw this 1960’s looking joint in a rough part of town. Being that it was open since the 60’s, I stopped because I thought it must be good. This place is run down just like it’s neighborhood! The employees acted trashy too. I ordered a ¼ mushroom cheese bacon burger with fries, NO Drink and it was $ 8.19 after tax. That’s too much for the quantity and quality of their food. The main reason this joint has been around so long, I’m sure, is it’s next to the High School. Otherwise, this place would be out of business. Now, I need to get the hell out of here before getting shot! LOL
