Horrible bar that promotes domestic abuse. A man verbally abuses a woman to tears and opposing party is told they would be 86’d. The situation warranted calling the police the woman was clearly upset and the man began shouting and attacking another woman when confronted. The bar«owner» is a joked and escalated the situation as bar regulars continued to hackle and joke about the manner. One woman even tried to make it a race issue«what a joke» This place promotes domestic violence. We paid our tab of $ 65 of just shots and tipped the waitress $ 20, so they understood we been kicked out of better by worse! We were enjoying ourselves not bothering anybody until such incident unfolded and will not be back and would not suggest such bar to an enemy. The situation could have been handled by not tolerating verbal abuse of any sorts to any paying customers. This bar is unsafe and venomous to the community. * given the bar owners reply… What racial slur was I yelling your customer who was the same race said«I’m a black woman» and I said what does that have to do with anything? If I was the one yelling racial slurs wouldn’t you have asked me to leave and why would I review and say that the woman tried to make it a race issue? You never called the cops, I certainly informed you to call them. This bar caters to friends not business and the woman was verbally attacked and was crying from a man who was allowed to laugh about with your friends. When approached the man yelled at me and you(bar owner) did nothing. Given the other comments and reviews your bar is a joke. You have no credibility and you handled the situation poorly.

Was meeting up with my step dad and my grandma on a Saturday afternoon and we wanted a good burger. Step dad chose this place. My first impression was — Cool little spot, very clean atmosphere. The waiter came over and brought us water, menus and asked if we wanted anything else to drink. We ordered the bacon wrapped dates, I had the #2 burger, my dad had the falafel burger and grandma had some other burger. The bacon wrapped dates came with 6 pieces, filled with Gorgonzola cheese that wasn’t overly pungent and were A-MAZ-ING!!! If you’re into that kind of thing I definitely recommend you try them! My #2 avocado burger was perfect. Dads falafel burger smelled excellent and I made him share a bite with me, it was great. I would order it if in the mood for falafel. Unfortunately grandma’s burger was wayyyy under cooked and still mooing so I cut my burger in half and shared it with her. I don’t mind pink but she was grossed out and too shy to say anything to the waiter. Lol. He was very nice though and I’m sure had she spoken up, he would’ve gladly fixed it for her no question. So I don’t count the pink against them. Overall I enjoyed my meal here, the bathrooms were clean, the customer service was great and I would come back again!

Service was bad it took ten minutes to get service at the bar! Food was OK had fish and chips but the other patrons had other dishes but I couldn’t see them because they served the items in bowls… a tip for my server ask for help! You may make tips turning and burning but the restaurant will lose in the end if service fails.

Brunch at the Crown Bar is nothing special. Steak and eggs is not your typical. Steak slices were sweet which wasn’t what I was looking forward to but delicious. Pancakes had poppy seeds and very dry. The burrito was just a scrambled egg with meat burrito. Coffee was weak. I certainly will not be going back for brunch. But hey that isn’t their specialty anyway.

Terrible service! Went into this place thinking it would be quick service due to the lack of people in the bar… Little did I know that the server would avoid our table the entire time. We didn’t even stay to see what would happen. I would advise that you keep on walking to a different place on 6th.

Brunch at Crown Bar is amazing! The food was great and the service spectacular! To ease your suspicions, I have no affiliation with this establishment, however, finding this level of service combined with an excellent meal is worth raving about. Our server was Chris and he was on top on of everything. In fact, he came to our table to apologize that our food was taking a few minutes longer than usual(though we didn’t notice a delay), as there was a large party that had called in a to go order before we arrived. All around fantastic experience. We have found a new brunch spot in Tacoma.

Food was decent. Drinks were good. What was impressive was the work ethic of both the bartender and waiter. They were efficient, multi-tasking like crazy with smiles on their faces. It was busy and everyone seemed well taken care of, proving the owner did an excellent job hiring.

Went to have brunch at Crown Bar this morning. One of the only places serving brunch on a Friday in Tacoma. I had the burrito and my better half had the pork belly hash. The food was good and plentiful. I also had the 12th man ma-mosa. It was huge! Casey, the server and bartender was very friendly. Excited about another brunch option in town! We will be back!

Yeesh. What a terrible evening. My wonderful friend made a dinner reservation for a group of 13 for my birthday dinner. She even called that day to reconfirm. We showed up at our reservation time and the restaurant was completely packed. Every table was full. When a hostess finally acknowledged us, she explained that an earlier party that had gotten there at 5:30 had gone from a party of 6 to a party of 16. I think it’s customary in that situation for the establishment to politely explain that they have another reservation for the table and to help the party wrap up their dinner in a timely fashion. That apparently didn’t happen. I now see why: this place is not organized in any way. After an over thirty minute wait, we finally got our table. Remember, we’d made a reservation. Things just went downhill from there. We asked for water, it never came. My fiancé and I ordered nachos with pulled pork and they were TERRIBLE. They had some sort of rubbery cheese on them. It was either Swiss or Gruyère, but whatever it was, it was not right for nachos. I’m telling you, they were the driest, most unappetizing nachos I’ve ever had. Everyone said their food(pulled pork sliders, burgers, etc) was dry. It’s like they ran out of any and all sauce. Our nachos were supposed to have salsa, but they didn’t. Our bills were all messed up, but at that point we didn’t care. This place had effed up so much of the evening they couldn’t possibly be counted on to amend the bill situation. The one positive of this place was their drinks. I thought they were really good. But with no water and basically no dinner, I left feeling a little woozy. When we first got there(before the shit hit the fan), Quinn and I were so excited to try this place and come back for happy hour sometime. That… Won’t be happening.

This place has been a fixture in the 6th Ave district of Tacoma for around 10 years. In that time it has had it’s ups and downs. As of the end of last year Crown Bar has changed hands ushering in a new era of ownership. So far things seem to be looking real good. The staff is friendly and inviting. The drinks have always been and still are on point. You can’t go wrong with the burgers or the mac and cheese. Can’t wait to see what comes next.

Have not been in CB in years. New owner, as of 3 weeks ago. Probably not many changes yet; but apparently, a few planned. We wish new owner, Christine, GREATLUCK. Fine cocktails from bar; limited taps. Grilled romaine salad excellent. Mac ‘n cheese very good and PLENTIFUL! We will be returning fairly often; there are just so many places in Tacoma to choose from. Good luck Christine!

Only giving one star because you have to give something. This place used to be great, feel sorry for the owners that the staff takes no pride in what they built. Chicken was WAY over cooked and all of the sides were cold. Waiter refused to comp anything. We love supporting Tacoma businesses and should have known it was going to be bad when the place was empty on a Friday night.

We were so excited to try this place but so sad we did not love it. It was super hot and no air conditioning, no doors or windows open and stuffy. We had the special fried chicken plate and fish tacos. Fried chicken was horribly burnt and my fish tacos with fried fish were just ok. The waitress compted the chicken and felt very bad. Not great too many other good restaurants to choose from. Would not recommend.

Walked out! Staff busy talking to each other, not paying attention to the Customers. Out of every item we tried to order… Go next door to Primo, that was some good food and attentive staff.

One of our favorite places for happy hour! And the staff is easy about substitutions and answering ingredient questions. I get the salad with roasted beets and instead of goat cheese get sautéed mushrooms. I dream about the mushrooms — they are so good! The greens are always fresh and I never have to pick through and take out the sad pieces of lettuce like at other restaurants. Everything my husband has ordered looks amazing, too. We like it here.

Saw this place on Diners Drive ins and Dives and checked it out. Food was subpar but the portions…$ 12($ 14) for 3 Mahi tacos; probably 4oz of fish on all 3 tacos combined. And it was completely dried out. I will not return. Drinks were very stiff though.
