The server threw my money at me after I waited 5 minuets for my pretzel and said I wasn’t going to wait anymore

The best arcade bar I’ve ever been to, and that’s saying something. The staff is friendly and game selection is amazing. Haven’t had the pizza yet, so can’t comment on the food.

It takes a lot to bring back and keep running these older games and this is one of the premier spots to get your game on in a retro style Arcade. The food is descent, they have a large selection of beer and even though the place assumes a retro status it still offers timeless entertainment for all ages.

The boys went and we had to peel them away! They loved the arcade games, the beer(the 21+ boys enjoyed), and the pizza! Everyone had smiles when they left and my hubby mentioned that it would be super fun to have birthday parties there! Bring your quarters!

For me personally it was just ok im not big on arcade games and loud atmospheres esp. In a not so big place, I also did not like that they did not have an atm to pull cash from. Other then that my husband enjoyed it he got to play all his favorite child hood games. This is a good place for young teens to hang out with their friends or go on as a date. And for the older ppl looking to let out their inner kid and have a drink since after 9:00 it becomes a 21 and older spot.

Time warp central! When I was 10 years old, we used to go to the arcade all the time and pump quarters into pac man, pole position, ninja turtles, mortal Kombat, and many other classic games. Well look no further. This place is a high class trip back in time for retro gamers. We celebrated my son’s birthday here and they absolutely loved it. The other thing which is awesome is that they have a beer for everyone’s palette. There’s probably 80 or 90 bottles there. The food was great and the service was top notch.

Really fun place for beers and games, but I do feel like the selection of games is not THAT big. We went through the ones we liked quiet fast. I also wish the new Star Wars game was cheaper… :D

One thing you need to know, Dorky’s has the largest selection of arcades in the Pacific Northwest(WA&OR) according to aurcade.(I researched on my own, not their claim). So, if you’re an arcade enthusiast in the Seattle area, definitely don’t be afraid to drive/ride down to Tacoma to check this place out. This place is super chill, has a combination of old/new arcades, they’re also a bar that serves pizza & beer. Also close to the Tacoma comedy club, go see their prime time stand-up, end up at Dorky’s for some boozy pizza arcade fun. Seriously, go.

Pizza, beer… arcade games? Whats not to like??? A few of my friends and I come here when in town because for a few $$ you can have a drink and play some Mortal Kombat or Jurassic Park pinball. Get drunk and have a DDR dance challenge, sounds like a match made in heaven. For a small bar, they have a very respectful collection of vintage and new arcade games to choose from. Our favorite is the classic NBA Jam, where we are trying to unlock special features by beating each team, guess we have to keep coming back!
Fun little place to spend a few hours if you are into the old arcade style games. Went here with a few buddies and I will be back for sure. Bottom line: Make it rain… with quarters… bring quarters…

Often come to the area to visit my parents that live up here near the community college. We have something similar in Salem downtown. After the great reviews I was excited about the prospect of the adventure I was going to partake in. Then I arrived. My issues: 1. Rude wait staff 2. Long waits 3. Overpriced beverages I will pay more for awesome and fast service. I will NOT pay extra for rude staff that cannot be bothered or long waits for simple items. Please get it together. Also embarrassing that I had to learn AFTER the fact that I’d spent my hard earned American dollars at a place that isn’t friendly towards Americans of the darker complexion. Enjoy that money of mine, you won’t see it again. Also, I find it hypocritical of the site to not allow users to mention this. You allowed users to DESTROY the homophobic bakery but it’s okay for business owners to refer to Americans as racial epithets? Keep it klassy!

Didn’t get the best service second visit. We felt like we were inconveniencing some of the staff. Wow. Smh.

The customer service is something to be desired. Pizza is better everywhere else. Coin op gaming could be massively more better. Also, the owner is rumored to dislike African Americans.

Super fun place for a date or something different to do with your pals! There’s a couple of onsite change machines(like the old days, man!) just inside the door — and once you head to your right, an array of video games, most from the early 80’s — games like Dig Dug, Pac Man, Galaga and the like. There were also a few pinball machines. Head to your left from the front door and there is a wee snack bar — some waters, some juices and what looked to be a rather extensive collection of beers. Not really the kind of place you’d want to drink at, though — too hot, nowhere to set your beer between games and seriously, drinking can only fuck up your high score! If you walk up the stairs just past the snack bar, there is a small dining area and it looked the food offering was your standard junk food — pizzas and corn dogs, so don’t expect foodie-heaven here! Further past that area is a larger area full of pinball machines! The best part is the games are still only 25 cents, so you can play your ass off for $ 5.00! I think this place is 21 and up — maybe not all the time, but for sure when I went at night it was, so you may want to call ahead and double-check if you are under age or bringing your kiddos! I will totally be back!

Our family and friends were visiting Tacoma and Dorky’s Bar Arcade came up in the search for a place to hang out. I think I can speak on everyone’s behalf that we love this place. Dorky’s has new as well as old school games at only a slightly higher price than I remember. That’s understanding because 1. it’s a business and 2. inflation. And you know what makes this place even better? You can have beer while playing video games! The pizza is average, the staff are friendly and kids are welcome until 9:00PM.

Omigosh, I love this place! Great for a date night, hanging with friends or even to pop in by yourself and do some serious retro-gaming! I don’t recommend the food either, but there are so many restaurants in the area it’s really not a big deal. I go for the games and good times! I highly recommend this for a fun and very reasonably priced evening out

Dorky’s Barcade is pretttyyyy sweet. The reviews are true in saying that it is SO loud there. You can’t really have a conversation unless you want to scream to the person you’re trying to talk to. The DJ is a cool touch, but turn it down a little. The bouncer at the front door was super cool and REALLY funny. He really added to my experience! The line for the bar gets pretty long, but the bartenders are really sweet and make up for it, so it’s okay. The reason I gave this place four stars instead of five, though, is because a lot of the games were down! And there were quite a few game hoggers this time around. We really wanted to play air hockey and the beer pong game, but… Fat chance. There was literally ONE girl playing the beer pong game the entire time we were there. I’ll definitely come back in the future… Just hope I get to play more games!

Dorkys is pretty cool bar arcade in downtown Tacoma. I’ve been there 3 – 4 times and never have any complaints about the staff, or games. Went their on Saturday night with m’lady, and had a good time. The only reason they get 4 stars is due to the food. It’s not expensive, and it is still a bar, so I wasn’t expecting too much, but after being recommended the garlic chicken bacon ranch pizza, we ordered one. Haven’t tried there other foods, but I will be back. Just eat before you go, or plan to eat somewhere else when you get hungry.
