I love Fuzion Café. I’ve come several times and have enjoyed every dish I’ve tried. Their Phad Thai is amazing. Their curries are great, lemongrass bbq chicken is delicious, and their Phad See Ew is my favorite in all of Tacoma. Their Thai Iced Tea is amazing and now that it’s chilly out — I get it HOT.(I recommend everyone try their hot thai tea for sure!!) Portions are just right and service is friendly and never pushy.

I would give our experience a one star, but I felt bad for the young inexperienced server who really should have been washing dishes and not serving food. This is not an inexspensive place to eat so you would expect some value in both the food and service. Seven of our family members had an early(5:30) dinner on a Friday night at Fuzion. The potstickers and spring rolls were pretty good and those empty dishes were left on the table during most of our meal until we bussed them ourselves. Our entrees arrived at vastly different times. First, the poor young server nearly dumped a bowl of soup in my daughter’s lap. Then he arrived with my son’s entrée which landed upside-down on the floor next to him.(I am not making this up!)The server scurried away and my son, who felt really bad for him, cleaned it up. No one else in the establishment came to apologize or clean up the mess. He ordered the chicken wrap which he has had before and really enjoys. Another arrived a few minutes later and he said it was really good. My daughter’s soup had a piece of hair in it. Yuck! I ordered a half-order of the coconut soup and it was really tasty. My husband ordered the seafood salad. Another person from the kitchen(who should consider something other than the service industry) brought the«salad» to three other tables(he was super irritated that no one would claim it) before ours because he didn’t know what it was. To be fair, I wouldn’t have recognized it as a seafood salad either. The eighteen dollar«salad» had a few pieces of bell peppers, a bunch of cilantro, scant lettuce/cabbage and two tiny scallops, three mini shrimp, all DRENCHED in a vinaigrette. It was not good. At a table behind us, a woman was getting up to use the restroom, tripped on the large wooden screen next to the table knocking it over with a loud crash. She fell on the floor(and was ok thank goodness). The manager came over to help her but the older lady from the kitchen looked supremely irritated that the screen was damaged. You would think after this kind of experience, that a portion of our meal would have been compensated. Nope. We left two hundred dollars at this restaurant and will never return.

The food is alright but not a good stop for date night. This is more of a Thursday night I don’t feel like cooking what can I feed my kids we’ll go here and get some gyozas yah that’ll make em happy kind of place. Clean and nice service. However, Royal Thai Bistro is that same kinda place and they’re closer so we probably won’t be back to Fuzion.

Ughhhh. Got tofu panang curry and veggie phad thai. It looked & smelled great but was halfway inedible. I usually order 5 stars at thai places & add spice from the rack, or 3 stars if they do «thai hot» so ordered 3 here to be safe. The panang was completely ruined by the heat(the phad was way less spicy though same stars). Tried to eat it anyway and just got sick immediately. As in, it was so f**** hot I can only assume it was intentional, maybe for ordering 10 min before closing… Ended up watering it down with an entire extra can of coconut milk at home which just made it gross(& it was STILLTOOHOT). Paid $ 32 for two dishes, which is pricey for us poor folk… and they charge for rice!!! 2nd star is cause the phad thai wasn’t stingy on the veggies which is rare so kudos for having one edible dish.

I’ve driven by this place a few times and read the reviews before I actually stopped in for lunch. Honestly, this place does NOT deserve 4 stars. I must say that the location inside was very clean and nicely furnished and their website is very nicely designed, but that is all deceiving when it comes to the service and the food and not to mention the prices of this place. I came here with a friend for lunch and we ended up walking out with a bill of $ 45 and a very unsatisfied meal. I ordered their crispy fish with ginger & basil and let me tell you this fish was far from being crispy when it was served. It was soft and mushy. I ate a couple of bites and could not eat anymore. I really wanted to send it back but always feel bad doing that. I guess what really upset me was the food was not that great and cooked to what the menu described it, but the fact that it cost me $ 16.95 for a plate of mush really hurt. The server was not very friendly and kept trying to force me to take my dish to go saying I barely ate any of it. I just quickly paid for it and left. I wish I would have spent that money on a delicious meal at Dukes instead. It seems that the prices here are aligned with trying to pay for the nice furniture and atmosphere and website versus the quality of the food.

I have had 4 different entrees from here. All exceptional! Peaceful environment! We take our two small kids(the owners are very accommodating) but it is really not made for children. It’s a great place for a date night!

Went back a second time. Had lamb satay and Tom Kha Gai. Both are excellent. Being a new restaurant, the service could be faster, but over time I think it will improve. The menu is similar to Indochine on Pearl. I spoke to the owner who I have known for a long time regarding adding new dishes and he was very open to the idea. Like all new restaurants there will be growing pains but the food is top notch.

What a lovely and quaint Thai restaurant. The menu is easy to decipher and has some wonderful dishes. Everything is fresh and quality. We went back a second time in a week just to make sure. The atmosphere is cozy clean and new. I expect this place will get discovered and it will be like Lorenzo’s used to be at the other end of 6th Avenue. I had a red curry coconut dish with two stars of heat. I’m glad I didn’t order 3 stars. Dessert was a pretty dish of mango ice cream with a thin layer of crisp chocolate underneath. Looked like four slices of apple . Both times Sean, pronounced sin, did the cooking. He is the young owner. He also came out to greet us and make sure all food was well received. Like Arnold Swartznegar said, «I’ll be back.»

The service was really trying our patience. The waiter didn’t seem to listen and was making so many errors — bringing appetizers for our party of five with no plates, bringing the wrong food and almost insisting I had ordered a dish when I hadn’t, not bringing us waters. I heard the table across from us experiencing the same foibles. The interior still looks unfinished in spots. Questions about ingredients could not be answered. Knowing this was somehow connected to Indochine I had high expectations. It’s doubtful we’ll return anytime soon.

I’ve been here four or five times since they opened and I’ve been impressed every time. Best Thai food in Tacoma. Also, this is the only place I know of that does a hot Thai tea. The portions are appropriate for the prices and everyone has always been friendly.

This is the second time we’ve tried Fuzion Café. The first time was not a good experience but I chalked it up to being a brand-new restaurant who hadn’t yet worked out the kinks. On visit 1 the food was bland and the fresh spring rolls were hot, wilting the lettuce and falling apart. A few months later we decided to give it another try. Unfortunately nothing changed. Fresh spring rolls were hot(again) and falling apart. They also lacked flavor. I tried the pad Thai with chicken — it’s like ordering the spaghetti and meatballs at an Italian place — a classic dish that should represent the restaurant. I ordered it four stars — it was so bland! Dry, flavorless, no spice, very light on the chicken and I was totally shortchanged on the Bean sprouts! I love bean sprouts and there were like 3. Husband commented it was all reminiscent of «Thai style» food you might get at a buffet. Dull and overpriced. If you’re craving Thai food on the West End head over to Royal Thai bistro instead. You’ll be glad you did.

Took me a long time to finally get over here. Didn’t know anyone who had been but figured it was worth a shot since there’s very little good Asian food in Tacoma. We were looking for somewhere to eat on New Year’s Day and this was the only non-chain that was open. We were seated immediately and given prompt service. I ordered the honey walnut prawns because it said it came in a noodle bowl. Usually honey walnut prawns are covered in this gross mayo sauce but here it was very light and sweet with a little bit of sourness. It wasn’t until I started munching on the noodle bowl that I was fully hooked. Perfect in every way. The waitress even offered me more sauce for my remaining noodle bowl. Overall it was pretty excellent. If I had a complaint, it would be that they didn’t clean the shrimp before frying it. I know that’s kind of standard but for the price, I expect better prep. The next time we went, we were seated next to a screaming baby. After a few minutes, the waiter made eye contact with me and motioned for us to come over to the other half of the restaurant away from the devil spawn. I ordered Orange chicken this time since I am hunting for decent orange chicken in Tacoma. It was okay but didn’t have any spice. Overall, the service is good and the food is above average but the price is a little high.

First time I experienced this restaurant and the last time. I ordered the family fusion meal and it cost $ 43.00. I waited in anticipation for 40 mins for them to make it. When I got home to feed my family I was instantly surprised at the portion size of the Mongolian beef serving. One of the main meat dishes To my dismay it was barley enough to feed one person. I had to drive all the way back to the restaurant all the while my family is hungry waiting for dinner. When I get to the restaurant the owner seemed as if she was genuinely concerned; until I uttered the words, «this portion is unacceptable». Then all hell broke loose she screamed at me and told me she is not giving me a refund she does not care if I returned as a customer all the while calling me a bitch. She then called the cops on me. I never raised my voice or called her out her name. I show the officers my portion she gave me and they advised in front of her to report her on Unilocal.So here is my review. When I took the food home it was command and it was not very good. The Mongolian beef was though the sweet and sour chicken was over cooked the fried rice was very mediocre according to my mom and the chow mein was so greasy it was all over the table. So I wasted time and money and the meal was less than good. I will not recommend or ever go there again.

I loved the diverse menu and the idea behind the theme of the restaurant. We had pad Thai and curry fried rice. The flavors were very good but the pad Thai noodles were a little chewy, which is the reason for the four stars. Other than that, the food was good. Nice ambience as well, décor was modern. It is a nice quiet place to dine or have a casual lunch. Took a to go menu and will come back soon to try other things.

We’ve been wanting to try this new Asian Fusion(Fuzion Café) since they opened recently so today while in the neighborhood, we decided to stop in for lunch. It’s located in an older building that’s been very nicely redone outside — nice street appeal. Inside is even nicer — the dining space being divided into an «L» shape — the South pointing end is cozy and inviting, with a modern décor and gas fireplace on the southern-most wall. The East pointing end is equally charming and overall, the look inside is modern and inviting. We were presented with 2 menus — the official lunch/dinner/wine menu with a huge assortment of dishes, and a «lunch specials» sheet. Prices are more on an upscale range — the lunch specials are $ 12($ 11.95 technically) and regular menu items range considerably higher. We ordered the Spicy Basil Chicken and the Ginger Broccoli Beef from the specials menu. Oddly, the menu says choice of soup or salad(we wanted to try one of each), we were quickly presented with soup and not given the option. But that’s OK — the soup was Thai-inspired chicken noodle and was very tasty with a well-seasoned broth with cilantro, and delicate chicken with a few light veggies. The main course dishes were«A-OK» per the Unilocal 3-star rating system. The beef dish was a bit bland overall — tasty sauce but it didn’t carry over to the beef hardly at all. The chicken dish was better with a richer blend of seasonings. Both dishes offered wonderful vegetables — more than you typically would expect, and fresher — whole green beans, beautifully trimmed carrots, and other very nicely done vegetables that all helped to round out the dishes. A bowl of hot fresh rice was placed in the middle of the table to share. Very nicely done, delicate texture rice with a good flavor. Service was a bit odd — maybe just getting used to how to run being somewhat new. We had to ask twice for most things — water and tea(which is $ 2.25 extra, but they don’t tell you that — they just ask if you want tea and ice water) had to be requested twice, and both were pretty slow to arrive. Same with our request for chopsticks — finally had to go to the counter and ask. Also note that the acoustical environment is not great. It’s LOUD. When the building was built out, they installed highly reflective surfaces on the ceiling and the floor is concrete — we had a hard time conversing due to other diners talking loudly. The bus person brought new cutlery to the lobby bin and made no effort to fill all the trays quietly — just clang, crash bang — for over a minute — during which no one could reasonably hear their dining partner. But overall, it was an enjoyable lunch with quality food — I wish Unilocal offered«half stars» as I’d rate Fuzion Café at 3.5 instead of just 3.0 — but still fits the«A-OK» qualifier that is the Unilocal 3-star rating.
