Great food, especially HH menu. Their Porter is not too bold, so delish! Caprese Salad compliments the fish tacos nicely. Maybe try watermelon slices instead of tomatoes… just a thought! Went painting right after, perfect venue.

Decent food. Nice back room if you plan on hosting a private party. They’ll give you a brief tour of their brewing room too, and a tasting. Service is a little slow and the seating is limited and not very efficient, but it gets the job done. They have a tiered happy hour, so the beer prices increase by about a dollar every two hours or so. This is a good place to start the night or grab a small bite.

I have really enjoyed visiting the Tap Room both on my own and with family from time to time. The beer is always good, with an expansive tap list and the food isn’t bad either. But they’re only getting two stars because I encountered two disappointing and surprising policy changes this afternoon: they no longer allow anyone under 21 on their nice outdoor patio(families with kids are now relegated to the back room which is often reserved for a private event anyway), and they don’t allow dogs on the patio either. Curious what the purpose was for both of these changes as they pretty much go in the opposite direction of the trend that most other breweries and taprooms have gone in recent years. Way to alienate a huge portion of your audience. The patio at the Tap Room is the best thing about this location — and really the best thing about all three Harmon properties(Harmon Tap Room, the Hub and Harmon Restaurant). It’s a shame that not everyone can enjoy it now. I will not be visiting this spot nearly as often.

This turned out to be a pleasant surprise. I read a few poor reviews about the place and service. I had a groupon to use and after reading those did not expect much. I do not know what these people were thinking. The service we had could not have been better, even sitting in the back room. The beer was very good and the food was great. I really liked the pretzels, a little different than what I have eaten at other places. I would go back anytime.

My boyfriend and I came here for what we anticipated to be a good dinner. Over the years we have been patrons to the Tap Room. Sadly in the last three years I have seen the menu change at least twice and each time was not an improvement. What used to be decent portions and quality food has disintegrated to overpriced freezer food. The burgers at Jack in the Box have more flavor. The food was room temp at best and the cheese was not even melted. The martini I ordered was $ 11. A martini does tend to cost more. However the most I have ever paid was $ 8. The server told us she only has two hands instead of just getting her work done. An overwhelmed server on a slow night, bad food and highway robbery prices equals the worst dining experience I have had in the last year. Try anywhere else in Tacoma. This is the bottom of the barrel.

The tap room used to have good food. Apparently that’s changed. The menu has changed and with that change is higher prices for smaller amounts and mediocre food. We ordered a bacon cheeseburger and pulled pork nachos. When the nachos finally arrived they were cold. The cheese wasn’t even melted under the fist layer of chips. When our burger arrived it was also room temperature. I’m sorry for $ 8 the burger better be hot off the grill and have a mound of fries with it. This is how they serve their burger. On a 6″ square pan with maybe a small handful of fries. There were 10 of us in our group and I don’t think any of us left happy. They served beer in a warm glass and all of the food we got was was room temp at best. Come here for good beer or cocktails but eat anywhere else before you get here. I give it a 1 star because our server was great and apologetic for the shitty food.

First time visitors and we loved the place. Our server was super great, offering tastes of any beer to help us choose. Their mocha porter was really good, as was a guest IPA from a Portland brewer. We had a Groupon offer which worked out great. We each got burgers with unlimited toppings(these are usually extra $) and choice of side along with a pint each. Burgers were really good. Also loved the laid back atmosphere. Harmon was an all around winner.

Beer advocates out in the Tacoma area need to come by the Harmon tap room. With a huge variety of beer that constantly is being changed out, and the freedom to bring/order outside food you can’t go wrong with this place. They have great happy hour deals and support the military! If your looking for a place to just sit back and chill with friends or try a new beer the Harmon taproom is the place to be.

My visit started off with pretty slow service despite the spot being fairly devoid of customers. Our table eventually did get a server over, who was nice and polite, but not exactly a rock-star. The beer selection was plentiful and quite tasty and this is where our server excelled in making recommendations and comparisons so we all had something we liked. The food was hit and miss. I had a pretty well put together salad, with a great house-made dressing and good flavor combinations, but the bison burger was pretty flat.(Ha!, but seriously, it was undersized for the bun, and just not that awesome, though the price was substantially low that I don’t feel ripped off.) The«craft» nachos were pretty large and good for sharing, and were also available with tots, so that saved some of the food experience… But I’d say we were underwhelmed overall based upon how much this spot was talked up by a local contact of ours.

The long odyssey that took us to the Harmon tap room. What a crazy ride. We were in Tacoma for a wedding and needed some lunch. My friend told me she found a groupon in the area so I quickly purchased it. We drove over to Harmon and sat down. We were quickly informed that this was the wrong Harmon. The Harmon we needed was the tap room, not the restaurant. So we quickly jump back into the car and head down the street to the tap room. The tap room was tiny and I wouldn’t say all that inviting. It felt sort of like a bare room with tables in it. A lot of breweries try to inject some life and character into their space. I felt like Harmon sort of dropped the ball there. They could have done more to make it a more inviting space. We ordered some beers and food. Normally I do a big thing about reviewing beer, but honestly the beer here was pretty forgettable. Not bad, but clearly not really the focus. It seems like they are trying to emulate a place like a BJ’s rather than a brewpub. The food was also just ok. I got a cuban. It wasn’t the best cuban I have had but it also wasn’t the worst. The big issue we took with their food was the prices didn’t match the portions. For $ 8 worth of nachos you would expect to be able to feel full, at least one person should be able to. It came out as more of an app than a full meal. Where I really have to ding them is their service. The waitress wasn’t unfriendly or bad, she just was overworked. I really blame management for this. You run a groupon deal and then don’t staff to meet the demand that will probably come in. There was one waitress who was taking orders, delivering food, clearing tables, pouring beers, and closing out checks. It was insane! She did a great job handling the crowd, but it was so unfair to her. This is really what knocks them down a star. Overall I think there are far better options that are properly staffed and run. 15⁄100

I’ve been here for an hour. I wanted to order a pretzel. They were out of pretzels. I ordered popcorn. They recommended against it, as apparently no one likes the popcorn. I ordered tots. 30 minutes later they told me they were out of gyro meat for the gyros we’d ordered. I’m just hoping we can get something to eat soon, as I have to get back to the rest of my life!

Spend the majority of my Friday night night in the tap room catching up with friends. Good beer selection, attentive service, and the price was alright. Everyone in there was friendly, glad we stopped in.

Impressed to say the least. Honestly I have never been a fan of their beers and they few times that I have had dinner upstairs service was spotty. Although they did everything to make up for it when I brought it to their attention. I did find the food above average and a lot of friends and neighbors still dine there. Anyhow a few friends have told me to revisit them especially the Tap Room where they are producing more limited release type beers. I sampled three of their beers, Steep and Deep, Mocha Porter, and an IPA and I was impressed. We had about 14 people in there and pretty much took the place over and I found service to be very good as well. So I definitely will put them back on my list of places to hang out in Tacoma and give them a try again. So if you are in the area, want some good food and beers check them out.

First visit the Harmon Tap room Thursday Oct 1. Busy place, a group of runners started and ended a run from the tap room. The back room on the first floor was full of people learning how to paint their own Van Gogh-” The Starry Night.”. The second floor was full of people. I met a group of friends at the large outside picnic tables. we enjoyed the IPA, the hard cider, BBQ chicken wings and riot in Wright Park apps. we alos tried the Crème Brulee and the brownies and ice cream. Great neighborhood pub. Good atmosphere, beer and grub. we will return.

It’s all because of the service, or lack thereof. They have some great deals during the week, but there is usually one person taking orders and pouring beers, so taking advantage of the deals is somewhat problematic. It could be 20 – 30 minutes before someone comes and asks you what you would like to drink… Or longer! I mean common, put another staff member on service, especially when the house is full! This may be the last time I come here, the second and last time, if Harmon can’t step it up. And the beer is not all that great, and not all that cold. Usually you get a cool beer poured into a warm pint glass(warm because it was just washed). Not good. Props to the dude serving though, but could do without the pompous attitude. Props for serving so many folks. *just had ranch sauce spilled on by said dude. Not cool.

Went there for breakfast, however would love to go their during happy hour next time to try their different beers. The waitress was super friendly. For their breakfast, they served breakfast pizza, so our group decided to try it. We were told that it was 10 inch pizzas, so our group decided to order one each. Bad idea! When the pizzas came out, there were 14 inch pizzas, but were still pretty good. So next time you order the pizzas, order and share.

False advertising on website and Unilocal menu! Too bad I have to change my great review to this. My wife and I went there around 9:30pm with a good friend from out of town. Had previously looked on the website to verify happy hour times and show my friend the happy hour menu. Sat down, received beers, saw the new menus asked the server about the happy hour menu. Reply, «we don’t do that anymore.» My reply, «it’s advertised on the website.» Nothing, no apology, no concession. Apparently we missed their new«rotating happy hour.» We ordered three beers under a false pretense and falsely advertised price and then were met by relatively poor service and attitude. This is not good practice. I didn’t want to believe other poor reviews about bad service and business practices, but now I see. We ordered food because we were too hunger to go elsewhere, and then left for what will probably be the last time. Leaving 2 stars only because the Cubano was pretty tasty. The burger was forgettable and arrived on what appears to be a small dinner roll.

Had a good time here. My brother and I went on a Monday afternoon, so there was basically no one else in the restaurant. The bartender(don’t remember her name) had only been there for a few days, but everything went very smoothly. I ordered a large pizza but she informed me of a happy hour deal going on at the time and dropped my price by more than 50%. The pizza was great and the beer was fantastic, too. There were two guys working back in the brewery. They apparently had some extra time, because they came out front to the bar to hang out and enjoy a few glasses of their labors. We all talked about various things, and they seemed very willing to answer questions about brewing beer. Altogether a a good experience.
