We had an hour for lunch and this was in walking distance. We were seated right away, we ordered right away, and then we sat, and sat, and sat, we asked at the 45 minute mark what the issue was and were told the kitchen had made a mistake and was remaking some of the food. We asked for it to go and our checks, we got eye rolls and after another 20 minutes our food, we asked to speak to the manager, who said he was sorry but didn’t offer any discount. Wont be coming here again.

Be aware: the menu prices on Unilocal are different than the menu in the restaurant. I had the black & blue salad for lunch on a Wednesday 11:30 am. Didn’t realize until later that the Unilocal menu quoted $ 13.99 but paper menu says $ 17 and that’s what I paid. Hmmmm…

horrible service!!! Who only serves breakfast on a Saturday at 12:15 pm?! Give me a break. We walk in and our lazy hipster waiter tells us there’s seating in the bar, then walks away. I’m 8 months pregnant. I don’t want to sit in the bar. We wait several minutes for him to return so we can tell him we want a table. He walks us over and slaps two wrinkly breakfast menus down on the table with no explanation, no drink, order, no nothing and then walks away again. I have to waddle my pregnant a** over to ask for lunch menus. «we’re not serving lunch. It’s noon.» He says. Ummmm, okay, pardon me… Guess I should have known that(???) Again walks away with no explanation before another guy chimes in «we do serve some pizzas here on this menu» Okay great. We take the menu and go sit down. TWENTYMINUTES passes in a NOTATALL busy for a Saturday restaurant and our waiter still hasn’t come back to take our order. As we get up and walk out the door we pass by him playing ONHISPHONE. Such ridiculously bad service. Never again.

This had been our fourth time coming here. I keep on giving them the chance, ok, they will be better this time. Well, I experienced something that has never happened to me. My husband asked for the ahi salad, I ordered the steak salad, and we ordered a ahi tuna for an appetizer. Within three minutes of ordering a tuna fish comes. We start to eat it and my husband thinks it’s his dinner. Come to find out, it is. So make a story shorter his dinner came before the app and our dinner(we had two kids with us) so anyways, we had our app taking off the bill. Service was blah. Had the same waitress for ordering drinks, dinner, and for the bill, but for other things especially the big problem always someone else.

Love this place laid back and chill atmosphere. Beer is always good and extra cold definitely a must go to while in Tacoma!

Went on a Saturday evening, it was crowded but not unbearable where we had to wait for a table. We were immediately seated at an available table in the bar area. Our waiter was great. Our drinks were great as well, came out right away. I had the steak sandwich. It was good except I was expecting thin sliced steak. What I got was a steak that I actually had to cut with a knife and fork because it was too thick when I bit into the sandwich. It was very delicious and cooked medium, just as I ordered. But would have rather been able to eat the sandwich like normal instead of taking it apart to eat it. But I would still recommend this trying out this place.

We stopped in for some quick food and drinks on a Saturday evening. It was hot outside and the drinks were cold. On the downside it was hotter inside than it was outside. Seriously, some a/c would have been great on a 95 degree day. We got a BBQ chicken pizza or something like that. The pizza would have been great, but way too much BBQ sauce. The sauce was great too, but when that’s all you can taste… The waiter wasn’t super busy and wasn’t too fast

Went for lunch with a friend, staff was super nice!!! The front section was really busy. Had the pesto ravioli.. it was more of a creamy pesto sauce. Added blackened chicken which had great flavor and spice.

I’ve always loved this place ever since a friend of mine brought me here. I’ve only had one bad experience but that didn’t stop me from returning. They have great food and drink selections. The Hub is also connected to the Harmon Tap room downstairs and the Harmon on Pac Ave by UW which is pretty cool. They have variety of choices on tap!!! If you’re a happy hour person you def. need to check out The Hub’s HH menu. $ 5 pizza, pasta, salads and more but don’t forget to pair your pizza w/the $ 3 pints. Large portions for a great price.

OK so ambience was fine no worries there. Prices were a little high at the bar for happy hour drinks but the happy hour food was priced well. The service was adequate but too busy to care about our experience truly. Understaffed. The black and blue salad was great. The drink was an unpopular one and may be the reason the liquor tasted old and musty, the happy hour street tacos were anything but. Very bland.

I just left a less then impressive review for Harmon’s and I hate that feeling. Typically i love all things harmon’s So to cleanse my palate I am going to review it sister restaurant, where I had a great experience at last time I visited. For my wife’s birthday I we reserved a table for 15 people on a sunday. There was a little confusion on the location we booked, but it all worked out in the end. The Hub is a little further west then Harmon’s, but the location is cool and the space was plentiful. Overall the food was solid and the price was quite right. Sunday is mostly half priced apps. So my wife and I split pizza, humas, and tator tots… maybe she got tacos as well. The pizza was delicious and big for a happy hour dish. The taco’s like always were great. The Tator tots were great and the Humas was really good, though too garlicy for my wife. I personally loved them. We all ate, drank a couple of beers, and hung out. Overall the experience was very solid. This place very much reminded me of Hop Works in Portland with the bikes aesthetic. I think Harmon’s is a solid restaurant overall. They have a killer happy hour and if you can grab that for sure. Though I gave a lower than expected review for harmon proper off of pacific I do love this place overall. The food is solid, the price is maybe a little high, but usually its reasonable, and the beer is pretty solid. I would suggest for most for sure.

I’ve been here with friends, and the menu is fairly simple — appetizers, pasta, fish, and pizza. The appetizers are pretty good(the tater tots and calamari are first-rate). The drinks are also quite good, although I don’t drink when I’m going to drive, so I’ve only had one cocktail. The pastas are delicious, but be warned — the servings are small enough to make you say, «Thanks for the appetizer; where’s my pasta?» But the pizzas? OHMYGOD. Get a pizza. Seriously, don’t worry about the burgers or pasta; get a pizza and enjoy yourselves. They are delicious — nice, thin crust that isn’t overly crisp or soggy; mouth-watering toppings and cheese; a sauce that has a nice zing to it. The Quattro Italiano is absolute heaven on a pizza plate.

How did I not do a review for my beloved hub?! This place never disappoints. Bubbly cheese and fresh marinara on a thin oven crust. It makes me so happy that they offer happy hour everyday. And also their Unilocal check in specials. Servers may be busy at times, but food is well worth it. If you’re visiting Tacoma, make sure to come in. And if you’re from Tacoma, make yourself a regular! Our usual is a pitcher and a large pizza with basil, fresh mozzarella, and Italian sausage.

We ate in the bar area down stairs. My husband got the Italian sandwich and I got a burger. I wasn’t very impressed. The bun was thick and extremely dry. It actually kinda hurt my jaw to chew through it. The patty was okay, no real flavor and a bit burned. The burger came with mustard, red onions, lettuce and I chose pepper jack cheese. All were fresh but didn’t do anything great for the burger. The fries were fresh and salty just how I like them.

I’m with all these other recent reviews. What happened here? I live just down the street and used to go to the hub every couple of weeks. Recently I’ve been so disappointed. The happy hour pizzas are tiny, the food hasn’t been good, and the waitstaff is slow and has even been rude. We asked a waiter to take a picture for us, and he curtly told us he didn’t have time. The food often sits under the heat lamps for awhile and comes out dry. Portions are getting smaller, and they charge for every little thing. I used to get the hummus plate and it came with a bunch of pita bread. If you ran out, they’d bring more. Recently I got it and it came with 6 pieces. When we quickly ran out and asked for more, the waiter said sure(and brought it out about 10 minutes later). On the receipt I saw he had charged us for it. I hope to see this place pick up again, because it used to be great, but I’ll find someplace new until then.

1. Manger Jesse eating bacon out of the food heat lamp 2. Inattentive service 3. Dry salmon, sat under heat lamp for two long. mashed potatoes luke warm from sitting too long. 4. Cooks in kitchen discussing things they should not be 5. Weak and tasteless Long Island Iced Tea 6. Seeing other customers food sitting there for at least 20 minutes 7. Food quality has declined along with recent changes in menu 8. Putting your menu on a wooden board is just plain stupid, and it copies too many other establishments. I used to be a huge fan of this place, but I wont be back. it is sad that such an awesome place gets ruined by bad managerial choices.

So, yes the Happy Hour Pizzas shrunk! How disappointing! That was the first offense. Last night was the second offense. Our ticket was lost and we were left unattended for almost an hour! It was an unorganized mess. Luckily our meal was comp’d especially since I ordered the most horrendous menu item. I tried to be adventurous and failed big time. I ordered the Ragu which traditionally comes in a red sauce. This was a twist since it was mixed in buffalo sauce. Really? Buffalo sauce? I was curious. Well, curiousity killed the bird. Unless you like eating Frank’s Red Hot buffalo wing sauce by the bucket! I could barely find mushrooms and sausage which it said it came with. This item needs to go! For the price of 3 happy hour pizzas. Disgusting! I rarely bash a dish but why would this even be considered a worthy menu item!!! Do customers really crave Red Hots that much? I’ll still give this place a chance. I haven’t tried brunch!

This place is another location for the Harmon Taproom Brewery. I went in here on a Saturday about 45 minutes before they planned to close for a special event held there. The waitress disclosed this but was very eager to please throughout the my snack and beer there and that’s really cool because I have had service in similar situations to this and they give you service in an obvious and begrudging way or they simply turn you away so I applaud the great service here. For my snack I got the Rainier Dip with chips which is more or less a Seven Layer Dip but served hot. The dip was pretty good… not necessarily a vibrantly tasting dish but sometimes that is how this kind of dip is. I got one of Harmon’s IPAs that they had on tap and while it is almost always refreshing to have a beer it wasn’t necessarily a memorable one. So all in all the experience was about the same as their other location but the service was better here for sure!

The Hub has been a good place for a casual lunch or late night HH. My friends and I like to go since they can accommodate large groups(and they do so well). They have an assortment of pizzas, pastas, burgers, and appetizers so everyone can usually find something that they want. I recently went for a group lunch and really enjoyed my turkey bacon club and fries. We also ordered a couple of their cajun tots for the table and those were awesome — crunchy, salty, and wonderfully fried. Service has always been great and they don’t mind splitting the checks for the larger groups so it always makes things easy.
