I stopped by Julia Ellen a couple of weeks ago for the first time in years, and the store is just as fun as I remember! I was sort of casually looking for a dress to wear to a wedding this spring, and the two ladies working there that day were very helpful in suggesting possibilities and encouraging me to branch out a little from the classic black dress… I ended up with this great New York designer label silk dress that is a very easy-care, no-wrinkle style, so that I can just roll it up in my suitcase and have it come out looking great for the wedding. It was honestly a dress I would probably not have picked for myself at first glance, but I was so glad they encouraged me to try it. It was a great, flattering fit, and at around $ 120, I got a nice quality, unique dress(not one that everyone else will have bought at Nordstrom or Macy’s!) at a reasonable price. They have some really cool handmade jewelry, too, so I was able to find the perfect pair of earrings to go with the dress. The clothes and accessories are generally upscale, but they have an off-season sales rack that is worth checking out, and there is quite a range in prices on regular items. All in all, I’m glad I stopped in, and I’ll definitely be back the next time I’m looking to add a couple fresh, fun things to my closet!
