I love Sonja’s shop with her yogurt in the front of the business & her clothes in the back. I do agree the clothes are on the smaller gal size. But the clothing is beautiful, fun & they are pieces that can be worn forever. I wish Sonja all the best in her business, she deserves it.

Wow, Pier W. You must have been talking to Sonja from Bizzaro World because the Sonja I’ve known and done business with for years is the exact opposite of the person you describe!

I cannot comment on Sonja’s shop overall because I’ve only purchased«Gritty Tacoman» merchandise in the Proctor Frozen Yogurt part of the building. After my experience today I will never go back, even for the yogurt(which my family has enjoyed). I needed to return three tshirts I purchased yesterday(complicated story), and dealt with Sonja to(attempt) to do this.(By the way, I had a receipt and the shirts were clearly unworn.) She was icy, condescending, rude, and unhelpful. I have no idea how she’s stayed in business this long. I am a small business owner myself and I can’t imagine treating someone the way she treated me. I will tell all the lovely Tacoma ladies I know to stay away from Sonja’s. She doesn’t deserve their business.

Fantastic little gem tucked into a cozy neighborhood. It’s a shop both my 13 year old niece and I can both find something wonderful in. LOVE the gritty Tacoma t-shirts and merchandise. Sonja, the owner, has re-created what it means to be a Gritty Tacoman and as a local I heart her for it. Clothing, baubbles, books, gifts. A well selected and tended to collection always awaits you. The service will give you warm fuzzies and you will love the little shops nestled next to her too. Stop in next time you have time to peruse and enjoy this little Tacoma treasure! This is also the only Tacoma store featured in the Seattle Crave guide. Check it out!

A very put-together, well merchandised, well stocked women’s boutique, Sonja is a locally owned shop with a lot of flair. I used to buy a lot from Sonja — beautiful clothes by Hanky Panky, lingerie by Arianne, jewelry by La Vie Parisienne. She has tons of other beautiful, high-end, well made items ranging from suits to casual. She has VERY good taste. So why did I stop going??? Well, the main problem was sizes. For some reason, Sonja didn’t carry much for anyone over size 12. After baby #5 — I couldn’t really find anything. This bothered me, actually. Anyone who goes in here has to be prepared to spend a bit, and there are lots of us fatties out here who are willing to pay for quality. So the combo of high prices and the idea that large women are shut out led me to stop shopping there. Even though I’m back just within Sonja sized weight… I’m shopping elsewhere now. She does have really lovely stuff and is very nice — so, I can still recommend it even though I no longer shop there.
