I found this place on Unilocal, read the reviews and decided to give it a try. I’m happy that I did. I had the Mac n yease, the big evil(?) with a side of red beans and rice. The Mac n yease was delicious. I read that this was a popular side so I gave it a shot and I was not disappointed. It was hot and creamy and full of flavor. They were out of BBQ sauce so the big evil(I think that’s what it was called) was recommended. I’m happy that I got the dinner portion because after the first wrap, I was so happy that I had a second one. Seitan, coleslaw, lettuce, potatoes salad and deliciousness comprised this wrap. It was juicy and delicious! Whether you are a vegetarian, vegan, bacopescatarian or full on carnivore, you will like it here. They also have four beers if you want some libations with your meal. It is a hole in tje wall and the bathroom is out back(you’ll be handed a cook spook with a key on it), but that does nothing to hamper the flavor of the food or the portion sizes. Next time, I’m going with the chilli Mac.

I honestly can’t rave enough about the food here! I have never been disappointed, and I always walk away feeling satisfied and FULL. Sometimes it’s hard to find good vegetarian/vegan food that’s hearty and filling, but the menu here is full of so many different fantastic options that I know will not leave me feeling hungry. Definitely a must-try.

As everyone has said the Mac & Yease is a MUST! We ordered a side dish for my 2 little ones(3&2yo) & they loved it! Felt a little guilty because I ate ½ of it! We went on a Sunday so they have a limited brunch menu, but it was still some good dishes. This was my first time eating/trying vegan food, so I see the appeal & why everyone is jumping o know the vegan wagon… when it’s done right!

It’s small, dingy, a little dusty and dirty. The service sucks. The bathroom is disgusting. The price is high. but I love their dishes so I keep coming back. It’s the only vegan restaurant in town besides Viva, which is raw. and I’m not into that. My last meal had a hair in it. Which isn’t appetizing at all. So if you can get over all the cons it’s ok

The hours need to be updated. I was there at noon and both doors were locked on a Wednesday. I tried calling in my order but no one picked up. This is the second time this has happened.

This is one of those places that makes you think that it might actually be possible to live a fulfilling life as a vegan. I’ll pass on that, but this hole-in-the-wall place has really good food. I usually stick with the sweet jamaican wrap… but have tried a couple other things. Food is extremely fresh and flavorful(well seasoned but not over seasoned) and leaves you feeling full and satisfied. The inside is pretty low key, but they do takeout also. Pro tip: get hot sauce on the side, because things aren’t spicy. Also, leave some extra time — they are not fast food.

I just moved to Tacoma from Seattle. So I tried all the vegan restaurants in Seattle and this place might be better then all of them. I love that it’s unpretentious and I can just roll outta bed and go to Quickie too. There’s cozy booths, Bob Marley posters on the wall and reggae music playing. There’s also plenty of off street parking. You can buy tofu, tempeh and seiten by the pound with their awesome smoked and Jamaican flavors. The hush puppies are the best I’ve ever had, vegan or not.

Mind-blowing vegan food. Best vegan mac I’ve ever had. Try the Southern Comfort. You won’t be disappointed.

I went here for the first time just minutes ago and had to write a review because their food is SOGOOD! It’s so flavorful and fresh. I got it to go but the charm inside is nice. It’s chill. They serve beer and wine too. Vegans and non vegans must go! I can’t say enough how great it was!!!

Since becoming a vegetarian a year ago, I’ve felt at a loss. No regrets on giving up meat, but eating had lost a lot of joy and had become more of a chore, especially when dining out. Quickie Too changed all that. For real. It’s like the heavens opened and the angles sang«You don’t need meat OR dairy to experience a magical meal». The first dish I tried was the sweet Jamaican wrap with house spiced tofu, smoked seitan, smokey yams, onions, and a perfectly pickled coleslaw which equaled«don’t talk to me right now I’m eating a slice of awesome.» Don’t even get me started on the brown rice and black beans that come on the side. I would like a bucket to go please. Today I tried the Strami Wrap, crafted with house made Tofustrami. I didn’t think they could top that sweet Jamaican wrap but we have a contender! With pickles and yellow mustard this satisfied my every craving in a sandwich/wrap. Service is friendly, there is off street parking and you can buy the tofu to go. I just feel really, really lucky to have a Quickie Too in my town.

The Service: The service is definitely not very personable, helpful nor welcoming. When you go out to eat, a lot of people do it for the convenience and the experience. Save for the places run by world renowned chefs, most people who can cook can make what they serve at places like this. I like to be welcomed and told about the menu if I had never eaten there before. They neither welcomed me, nor offered any helpful information. The Food: I came on a Sunday, so it was a brunch menu. I ordered a banana-blueberry smoothie and didn’t ask what they put in it. They obviously put a ton of sugar/syrup in it because it was way too sweet! I like smoothies with just fruit, but part of that is on me for not asking. I also got the signature platter. The smoked tempeh, tofu, and seitan were really good. I’ve never had them smoked before, so I pleasantly surprised by the texture and flavor! The blueberry muffin was moist and delicious. The tofu scramble had a bit excessive turmeric flavor, so it was good, if you like lots of turmeric! The gravy covered polenta was pretty good. Not awesome, but good. The candied apples were good, but basically warm apple sauce because the apples were cooked to a mush. I had no idea what to expect. I prefer slightly firm apples when cooked like apple crisp/pie, but this could be how it’s supposed to be made, no idea. Overall Experience: The atmosphere was cool. I don’t particularly like a pretentious atmosphere, so this definitely was not that. It had a relaxed southern feel. As stated above, the staff could have been a little more friendly, but I felt like they were pretty attentive to my needs but nothing more. The food was very good, bringing my review up a couple notches. I was between a 3 and a 4 star review, but being all vegan deserves a bump up to 4 in my mind! Work on the service and this will be a top notch destination.

Today along with the personally required Mac N’Yease, I tried their agave lemonade and the Big Tim. They did not disappoint… Just delicious. I am so full and I didn’t put a dent in it! I’m becoming a regular here and I am pleased with that. If you haven’t tried the lemonade, please do the next time you’re in! This place offers vegan food that makes you wonder why you ever ate meat! ENJOY!

Fantastic! The only word to describe this Hilltop wonder. Fair prices and a delicious setup. The Seitan turned out great as well as the tofu. I was blown away by the chorizo. The thing to know about these next level proteins is that they aren’t the exact taste of your favorite meat, they have a unique flavor profile meant to compliment the dishes they serve.

I had the dinner size sweet jamaican wrap, along with an order of mac & yease. They both tasted great! The wrap was HUGE by the way and filling. Great flavors on both items. The only downside is the wait time. I ordered to-go on a non-busy lunch day and it took 20 minutes. Worth the wait though.

What a gem, this place is the original«mother ship» for the Plum Restaurant franchise. I am a vegan and the only unfortunate thing for me was not enough room to eat more. We will be back for more ;)

UPDATE: Make sure you have 2 hours for this place. I just went here on an especially slow day and it took forever. Also the burger wasn’t as stellar as usual. Rookie help in the kitchen? This place is delicious! I know some people might shy away from a «veggie burger» type of thing, but this is so tasty, fresh and filling that you’ll wonder why you didn’t eat here before. The flavors are absolutely outstanding. I had one of the best sandwiches of my life.(I say that as an omnivore too!) My Mom got the Jamaican burger and she really enjoyed it. She’s tough to please, so that says a lot. You won’t leave hungry! It’s been half a day later and I’m still full! The caveat — don’t go if you’re on a fast timeline. As others have said, it may take a little while to get the goods to your table. But you’ll be beyond glad you waited! Service was friendly and I will be back!

Never judge a book by its cover. While Quickie Too might be located in a questionable neighborhood, look run down on the outside and look less than fancy, the food is unbelievable! We’ve eaten at tons of vegan restaurants. Quickie too has variety, quality, flavor and large portions for a reasonable price. Don’t kid yourself if you are looking for«healthy» because it’s greasy and delicious here! I’d reckon even meat eaters would enjoy the food immensely. We ordered The Big«Fish» and the Smoky Mushroom Melt. The Big«Fish» tasted just like a battered, deep fried fish fillet sandwich and the Smoky Mushroom Melt was so cheesy, mushroomy, and the seitan was like steak! Both were amazing and full of flavor! We also got a Moon Pie that was delicious! We used to stop in Seattle to get Vegan food when we traveled, but we’d gladly detour to Tacoma just to eat here at Quickie Too again.

Quickie too seems like a stereotypical vegan café from the 90’s. Music posters paper the walls, heavily featuring Bob Marley and in the corner behind the counter a psychedelic pot leaf sticks out. A table full of white men adorned with dreadlocks loudly chatted and laughed in the corner. Despite the cliché vibe, the food was wonderful, albeit took a while longer than a salad and sweet potato fries should take, and the servers/cooks were congenial, welcoming and attentive. The dining area was clean, and the bathroom you access from outside the restaurant in the back was mostly clean and well stocked. Overall I had a great experience, but would definitely order ahead of arrival next time(as I saw one customer do and she was served right as she entered). There is plenty of parking in the private lot.
