It’s Christmas Eve and the freaking kitchen sink backed up. I live in an apartment and after the maintenance guy couldn’t fix the problem, he called Stop, Inc. They gave an ETA of between 3 – 6 PM.
The plumber arrived at 4 pm and went straight to work. He took care of the problem and cleaned up after himself as well. He didn’t take long, he was professional and chatted a bit when he was done. He concluded with a sincere «Merry Christmas!» I didn’t get his name or I would give him credit for it in the review.
I don’t know their pricing since the landlord will deal with the bill. Due to the service and professional manner of the plumber, I would recommend Stop.

To the reviewer complaining about noise at 8.30am on a Sunday: in all fairness, imagine if your apartment was overflowing with sewage — would you not want someone to come as soon as possible? Having had a similar problem recently for the first time in my life, I would advise holding off on such harsh criticism regarding a company that helps people in such situations — EVEN in the morning, EVEN on a Sunday. Sometimes noise is warranted — this service is not a frat party, after all. They wouldn’t be making the noise at that hour unless they had to. When it happens to you, you will be grateful they came. I guarantee it.

STOP has changed hands. Old number listed is a private cell phone number (he now works for Rescue Rooter) and I have asked Unilocal to correct this info. Correct number for STOP is 1.800.380.7904. The guy who answered thought they had a website, but couldn’t tell me what the URL is. The old owner was upstanding, did great work, and had great pricing — however I don’t care for RR’s pricing structure so won’t be working with him anymore — and as the new guy can’t answer a simple question about his company’s contact information, I won’t be using or recommending them again. Too bad.
