Tahoe Wilderness Adventures

This business is great. We contacted them to supply gear for a large department camping trip at Tahoe. The rented gear was in great condition, arrived on time, and Kyle was extremely helpful and flexible with last-​minute changes. It was so convenient to have the gear delivered to our campsite, rather than having to drive rented gear all the way from the Bay Area. I would absolutely recommend the business for renting camping/​backpacking gear in the Tahoe area.

I contacted Kyle to plan a 3 day backpacking trip and his professional experience really paid off. I had never backed. He provided maps and a thorough understanding of what would be required to back pack in Yosemite national park. He provided all the equipment and showed us how to use it, making sure we would know what to do out there on our own. His equipment is top of the line and well cared for. We had a well planned and executed wilderness adventure!

I was referred to Kyle O’Neal, the owner of Tahoe Wilderness Adventures, by the guys that work at Alpenglow Sports in Tahoe City. I was looking for a hiking guide to take 9 of us on a 6 mile hike over the 4^th of July weekend. We were in town for a family reunion so the ages ranged from 16 to 55 years old and varying hiking abilities. Kyle was awesome — he took us on a hike that was absolutely beautiful and challenging enough to get a good workout, but not too technical so that everyone could do it. And it was a relatively quiet trail, which is hard to find on a busy holiday weekend in Tahoe. It was so nice to follow Kyle’s lead and not have to worry about getting lost with my group of 9 — and he gave us history of the area, the trees, flowers, etc so we learned a lot on the hike as well. I highly recommend Kyle and Tahoe Wilderness Adventures if you want to take a group hike and don’t want to stress with the organization. He is a really nice guy with a ton of interesting facts about the area and will tailor the hike to your group’s needs.
