The nicest people and BEST dogs anywhere. We break our diet for these odd dogs once a week and it’s well worth it because they’re made with love. Brian is the nicest wiener guy we know. He’s not very odd at all, but maybe we don’t know him well enough. Only Jill knows for sure.

Two words: ELKSAUSAGE!!! Oh. My. Lanta! I had heard from a few people that that little cart was mad expensive and was hesitant to stop by, but seriously, I could probably eat these elk sausages everyday. As long as these guys maintain consistency, they have 2(my husband and myself) customers for life!!! Seriously amaze-balls!!!

I like everything about this place. My grandson had the Seattle Dog, me the Chicago Dog. I usually judge a hot dog place by the Chicago dog if they have it. It was all I had hoped it would be. Strongly recommended as a quick stop if you’re coming in or out of the Tahoe basin and need a fix.

I don’t really consider myself a hotdog fan, but Pretty Odd Wieners might change my mind. So far I’ve had the Louisiana Hot Link and the Chicago dog, both of which were incredible. So flavorful and most importantly, doesn’t have that funky cheap hotdog taste. I guess it’s the super legit ingredients they use, but I’ve never been so stoked on a dog. The friendly service and fresh on-the-spot lemonade are just icing on the cake. I’m headed down to try the Elk sausage asap.

I hired Pretty Odd Wieners to cater a backyard party with 60+ people. They were fantastic from start to finish and I couldn’t be happier with the choice to hire them! Brian was easy to communicate with when we were planning to menu, he was always available if I needed to reach him and was super flexible with helping me plan the menu. The set up is really cool, it looked great in the yard and was really the perfect way to make a casual party a bit more exciting. Brian, Jill and Gordy were super helpful keeping things clean and helping our whole event flow smoothly. They were a great addition to the party! Most importantly — the food: We served the Beef, Chicken apple and Vegan dogs with choice of either Seattle or Chicago style with the best buns ever. They were so good, everyone loved them and the pasta/caesar salad sides were great on the side. Thanks so much, Pretty Odd Wieners for helping us throw an awesome party!!!

After heading up to Echo lake to do a little fishing, we had seen this stand on our way back to Lake Tahoe. WOW! Now that is a HOTDOG. Big, no, HUGE Hot Dog. We both ordered the Chicago Dog. The Dog itself is very large and sticks out both ends of the bun. The toppings were very plentiful and the stand itself was clean. They also serve Hawaiian Kettle Style Potato Chips and Fresh Squeezed Lemonade and The young owner was very friendly and attentive. The location is at the 76 Gas Station heading east on the right hand side, just past the agricultural inspection station. Do yourself a favor when you get the craving for a juicy dog and head on over to Pretty Odd Wieners for a quick bite after you burned off some calories from hiking.

We arrived into town very hungry and wanted food in a hurry. Unilocal led us here, with great advice to look for the lemonade banner. We split the Wild Boar sausage. Flavor of the meat was mild and gently spiced. I really liked the texture and that the casing was fairly thin and easy to bite. The bun was amazing, fresh and soft with a buttery flavor. It was served with a tomato sauce with peppers, and it was just the right amount. It wasn’t as spicy or strong in the way one might expect for wild boar, but it hit the spot. Great service too, from folks who clearly like what they do.

Oh yes, this is now officially the best hot dog stand in California in my books! Don’t be deceived by its appearance right next to the gas station. They serve delicious hot dogs, sourced directly by the owner himself from local butchers, with a variety of different meats and flavours. The owner is super friendly, and we stood there and chatted while finishing a very, very delicious elk sausage with toppings. I still crave that elk sausage today. The sausage flavours(and meat composition I suppose ;) are seasonal, so be sure to check back from time to time if you happen to be in town.

This place is always amazing! The food is quick and tastes great. Good selection on sausages you might have never tried like elk or venison. I highly recommend this place as a local. One of, if not my favorite place in town.

This is the perfect stop after a few hours of mountain biking. I stopped by after riding Mr. Toad’s Wild Ride looking for something to eat and came away extremely happy. The elk sausage with cream cheese and onions is amazing, and I can’t wait to try the rest of the menu. The owner, Brian, is a super cool guy and will surely hook up anyone who stops by with one of the best dogs/sausages of their life. Winter or summer this is a place worth stopping at!

Been day dreaming about the juicy dog I had yesterday. I’m so stoked to have stumbled on this awesome dude and his awesome dog cart! So I just asked for ketchup. He was totally willing but also explained the real way to eat a hotdog. I went for the Chicago dog minus the Caramelized onions. I’m forever changed! So, the buns are made fresh daily at a local bakery and it truly brings the whole shebang home. The ¼ lb hot dogs are all beef and just really frikin good quality. My Chi dog had deli mustard, a pickle spear(inside), sport peppers, and celery salt. I didn’t know about sport peppers before but they are these little hard to find guys with just the right kick.(If he has enough, you can ask to buy a jar!). I just stood there after my first bite, staring at the cart, not wanting to leave. I’m pretty sure my boyfriend fell in love with me all over again after watching my reaction. There is also elk sausage infused with cheddar and jalapeños. It’s damn good. I will be stopping here EVERY time I pass it from this day forward! Oh yes!

Soft, moist buns with fresh tasting ingredients. It lives up to its five star billing. The young guy running the cart was cool and polite. It’s located next to the 76 gas station with a lemonade sign next to the cart. The price was fair and the portion solid, except the lemonade, which was huge.

On a drive from Sacramento to Reno, I detoured to see Lake Tahoe. I was looking for a quick bite to eat, and saw this listed on Unilocal. This cart deserves all the nice comments. I had an outstanding Chicago dog with all the fixings, and some delicious fresh-made lemonade. Tasty food, gorgeous mountain scenery, and pleasant owner — highly recommended!

Came to visit Tahoe from the SF Bay Area and saw this food truck on the way in. All I can say is YUM! They have hot links, hot dogs, and kielbasa. I went for 2 hot links and it had a good spice to it with cheddar cheese, ketchup, and mustard. Simple yet delicious. Very inexpensive and filled me up for a few hours. The owner Brian is a local and a very friendly guy! I highly recommended!

On our way back from the PO, my daughter saw the flag and the cart and asked me to turn around… which made me hungry for a dog and went ahead and did it… WASNOT disappointed! Great deal, 2 dogs a soda and chips for $ 7, and even one dog was filling enough :) Nice and lean, not too greasy or salty, good quality dogs! Next time we’re gonna try the kielbasa and the toppings… new fave locals pit stop!
