You won’t see a lot of bad reviews from me anymore. After a heartfelt note from a restaurant owner who’s restaurant I previously trashed on Unilocal,I have decided to make my reviews on Unilocal be a more positive, business building tool for those businesses that deserve it. I’m not a qualified food or décor critic. I contact the business owners directly if I have a bad experience. There are a few companies who cheated me out of money or gave me comically bad customer service and did NOT apologize when I pointed this to them. I will not delete my bad reviews for them.
Back to Bumblebee:
Can’t say enough good things about this place. I really prefer going to some one with a medical background (Amber, the owner, is a nurse) for things like facials and such. I initially went there for brow waxing after a friend of mine was kind enough to be honest and tell me that I was tweezing my own brows into obscurity (the mirror lies ;)). On my first appointment, they didn’t charge me at all and told me to come back in about 5 weeks and to absolutely not pick up a tweezer. That meant a lot to me: they could’ve charged me for the consultation and they also could’ve told me I needed things that weren’t right for my thin lil’ brows. I have been going there for two years now and have yet to pick up a tweezer. I get so many complements on my brows, too.
I know get facials there as well and am surprised about what a difference it makes in the way my skin looks and feels.
While I don’t get the eyelash extensions or Brazilian waxes that many of their customers get, I hear a lot of them talking about how they like the services there more so than some of the other places in town. Bumblebee Waxing is not the cheapest, but is also not most expensive in town either. I arrived early for my appointment one time and was talking to some one that just came out: their eyelashes were WRECKED from going to some place in town that used a standard glue. Apparently, Amber spent 30 minutes removing the bad lashes and told her to come back when they grew in again. Ouch! I bet she didn’t go to that other place again.
Like many things in life, you get what you pay for with these kind of cosmetic services. I highly recommend them.

Amber is terrific. The fact that she is a nurse has always given me an added comfort level. She’s accommodating and friendly, despite her busy schedule. You can book online and communicate with her by text if you need to reschedule.
The service is professional, but relaxing and comfortable, and the end results are always perfect. She does a great job minimizing any pain involved as well by being quick but thorough, using good products, and keeping you occupied while she works.
Several of my friends and I found her separately last year, and we all love her and continue to use her! Love the great new midtown location as well.

i love amber. she’s the greatest. she manages to seamlessly bridge the gap between being completely professional and being your girl-​talk pal. i’m leaving tallahassee in a few weeks, and there are a few things i leave here with a heavy heart. amber and bumblebee waxing is definitely one of them. if you’ve never been and are reading this review, don’t wait. go and see her. her online booking makes it even easier! she’ll make you feel totally comfortable and leave you looking lovely. she’s extremely knowledgeable and the products she uses are great. if i could add more stars, i would.
