Denny’s

This staff is very rude and they don’t have any concerns about you someone got me food @9:30 this morning at because I was at work so I tasted it and it was not done nor did it agree with my stomach so I brought it back about 11:30 am and they telling me there is nothing they can do about it did not say sorry not I will never eat there again it get a negative zero in my book

Horrible. Well the wait staff was fine, the food was absolutely awful. We just ordered simple breakfast at 10 in the evening. The sausage was green, the ham was rubber and tasteless. Not sure what the yellow rubber things were — supposed to be eggs, but certainly did not look or taste like eggs. The only redeeming item was the pancakes were as expected at Denny’s. Would NOT GO AGAIN.

Omg! I must be a glutton for punishment, went back to check things out, was around 8:30 pm on thanksgiving (truth be told I only went there because my options were so limited) more of the same though my server was very nice, I asked how long ticket times were and he said around 20min so i was hopeful, all we had to drink was water, couldn’t even get that right, while waiting we of course needed refills but alas no dice, waited 40min then finally walked out, a server, after speaking with the manager came out to the car to ask if we had paid, I asked «for what?» Never got food and only drank water, why the manager didn’t come out to speak with us is a mystery, this place is just a joke, it really is, it’s a shame too because it’s very convenient for us but the horrible management of this just makes it next to impossible to continue to patronize. Unilocal needs a zero star button for dumps like this.

Restaurant looks a bit tired and old from the outside but the staff are very friendly and seem pretty happy. Service was very good and cheery!
Food was top notch perfect All American Breakfast — any option you want no trouble at all! Great sourdough toast and coffee kept coming — exactly what we wanted!

This is the only Denny’s in town. This is it. That means this SOLE Denny’s has to represent its vast corporate history single-​handedly. It does a fairly good job.
We came here a few days ago (regrettably) because we were having a difficult time getting seated at the IHOP up the street on N. Monroe. We and three other parties just left (see that review). Nonetheless, brunch was in order and this Denny’s beckoned.
We arrived and were properly greeted and sat. If Denny’s could do it, then so could IHOP — but they didn’t.
(I recognize that nothing is perfect, and that restaurants, from time to time, have off-​days. I do want to give IHOP another chance, but right now, it’s Denny’s time to shine…).
The server was all smiles and courtesies. truth be told, our experience was flawless in terms of order-​taking, plate presentation, and duration of prep. I was truly impressed.
Denny’s — every time I patronize you, I can’t help but think of David & David’s one-​hit-​wonder (Welcome to the Boomtown):

Denny’s holds a special place in my heart — as it does in the heart of many a «clubber» of the 80’s. When the hall shut down at 2AM, Denny’s was there to provide a counter-​balancing sustenance to the liquid carbohydrates that (I’m told) many partook in.
But, I digress…
Our experience at this Tallahassee Denny’s was everything you’d expect from a nostalgic trip down memory lane, and then some…

Maybe I was just hungry, or maybe this is the best Denny’s ever, or maybe my waitress Angie was reading my mind, but I really can’t say enuf good things about this roadside mainstay. I went for a simple breakfast and everything was great from the moment I walked in the door. Great eggs, delicious bacon and a waffle to write home about, or at least Unilocal.Even had real maple syrup! I was just passing thru Tallahassee, but so glad I decided to go old school with Denny’s. Believe me, I’m as surprised as you that this breakfast was so good, maybe the stars just aligned for that brief moment? Whatever the reason, thank you Angie for a wonderful Denny’s experience (and how many of us can claim that!).

I can’t give this Denny’s a low rating… and here’s why:
The server we had, she wasn’t overly friendly, but she was very attentive. Drinks were always filled when they hit the halfway point, she was quick and she made sure we were happy.
Food was the typical. They didn’t mess anything up, nothing wrong with it, not over cooked and made the way I requested.
Location was good for us, close to our hotel, close to the freeway.
Typical Denny’s prices applied.
Parking was ample.
Manager made his rounds.
Seemed like a crew that had it together, and it was busy.
It wasn’t super clean but not disgusting, a typical, older Denny’s really.
We went on a Sunday morning, maybe it was a hit or miss seeing as how the reviews are horrible but our visit had no issues what so ever.

Just left and the service and food were terrible. Before our waitress even said hello she started complaining about another table of customers. She didn’t ask what we wanted to drink and had to come back for our drink order. She corrected my daughter and told her to say maam. She forgot half our order while walking around talking loudly to another waitress. The grits were watery, pancakes either burnt, eggs undercooked as was the bacon. The manager was walking around clueless. They don’t even deserve one star.

Average. Service was what I would expect for only one waitress handling 6 tables. Place was clean, staff friendly. Good location close to the highway.
Only downside was the food was below even my expectations of Denny’s.

The worst customer service experience I’ve had since I can remember! I rarely post bad reviews, but management needs to wake up & smell their own coffee! Welcome your patrons with a friendly smile & let them know you’ll be right with them if you can’t when they walk in the door. 1^st impressions are everything. 1^st and last time I’ll walk through your doors after having 8 service staff pass by me without any acknowledgement and a waiter brush by my back! 10 patrons waited with frowns on their faces just as the service staff did. Unhappy staff = unhappy patrons. Absolutely unacceptable!

I have not been impressed with this Denny’s, particularly when there are options like IHOP and Cracker Barrel also on N. Monroe.
The main complaint I have with this eatery is that the service is SLOW. Don’t be surprised if you go your entire meal with one beverage refill if you are lucky. The servers just seem to have no sense of urgency. They are perfectly friendly, just not very efficient. It gets a bit better when they are slow, but on weekends or during peak times, it grinds to a standstill.
There’s not much to say about the food. Denny’s is ubiquitous, you either like it or you don’t. This particular outpost has just been underwhelming every time I’ve gone. Next time I want breakfast one the weekend, I guess I’ll bite the bullet and accept the wait at Cracker Barrel.

Glad to see Denny’s back in Tallahassee. Right now the place is good and the food looks and tastes good. I have hopes that it will remain and probably will, if they don’t hire a bunch of slop hounds to work there.
