I’ve been eating here for many years now… Even though I no longer live in Tallahassee, I still make it a point to stop here when I visit because BESTCARROTCAKEINTHEENTIREWORLD. I don’t know what they put in that stuff, but I’m pretty sure it includes rainbows and unicorns. The sushi, service, and ambiance are exceptional, too. Just make sure to leave room for dessert!

My most vivid memory of eating dinner at Jasmine Café is that it has a lovely ambiance and great staff. It is located right in downtown Tallahassee and the inside is intimately lit with handwritten alcohol selections on the wall: nice touch! I went with my boyfriend for dinner one evening and we both got drinks. Our server was really sweet and put up with my persistent questions about the beer selection(I like to think of myself as a snob, I am probably just annoying). They have a nice range of food, and there were several things on the menu that caught my eye. I settled on the sushi; while I didn’t regret this decision, the sushi was a little on the«rice-y» side for my liking, although my boyfriend said his was perfect. I will definitely be coming back and am excited to try one of the other things that caught my eye!

I visited Tallahassee for the first time and the Jasmine Café was recommended from a classmate if looking for sushi and other Japanese food. I went to this restaurant with several friends and for the most part, all of us actually enjoyed the restaurant. Our waitress and the other staff were very friendly and the service was good. Now for the food, I was the only who ordered the Udon noodles from the menu while the rest of my friends ordered sushi. I should have ordered sushi too since the broth of the udon did not have any taste and I did not enjoy it. But I did eat most of it since I was hungry and I paid for it. As for the sushi, all of my friends who I went with enjoyed their respective meals. I also ordered shrimp shumai and that was great. I would like to come to this place again if I come back to Tallahassee to try the sushi but I would not order the udon noodles again.

Great food! Their sushi tastes amazing! The service is a bit slow but the place has such a nice environment! The entrance is very creative.

I have been here multiple times before. The first time I was brought here was because my brother raved about the $ 10 two sushi’s, miso soup, and salad(I recommend extra creamy garlic dressing) deal that they should be famous for in Tallahassee. I say that because I know taste and value of sushi, If you go to sumo sabi you are wasting you’re money on mediocre sushi, go to Jasmine’s. This place thrives on executing simple, and exceptional, sushi on an acceptable level. I look forward to expanding my trust in their expertise and expansion of my tastes regarding their menu.

I would comment on the food. But it’s been an hour and I still haven’t gotten my teriyaki chicken. Service was very poor and the waitress seemed very distracted and aloof.

Excellent sushi, great ambiance and the price is about right for trendy. The wait staff were impeccable but the room felt a bit crowded.

THE absolute best sushi in town. The fish they use is very fresh, tuna is always awesome. Prices are good especially when comparing to the other sushi joints. Try the Kennedy, Volcano, Mexican, Rattler or Atomic roll. You will not be disappointed. Jasmine Café also has good salads, soups and rice bowls. Try the Udon! Tuna tataki also always good.

This used to be my favorite sushi place. Um it’s just not as good as it used to be. The sushi was fine and the salad was okay. The soup was great. The service was average

I had a salad, pad Thai, and a beer for $ 16 before tip, and it was delicious. The service was fast, staff friendly, and restaurant busy. I will be back when in Tallahassee for business.

Pad tai was very tasty but felt so thirsty after having this. The ramen with a white soup base tastes weird. Won’t recommend that particular type of ramen. Plus the noodle that comes with it was the same style of noodle as pad tai. I guess the spicy soup base ramen is better.

I had heard rave reviews of Jasmine Café and Lounge, so on a whim I decided to give it a try. What a roller coaster. First, I need to be very clear about something. The staff is quite friendly and graciously accommodating. I had to ask for several modifications to fit my Gluten-free diet, and they absolutely took them in stride, even altering the preparation of my dish. Morgan was a gem, and if you’re lucky to be seated with her, you won’t be disappointed in your service. She was knowledgeable of the menu items and kept our glasses full. The location is nice. Easy to find, had no trouble parking. The décor is trendy and fun. But Lord are the noise-levels godawful. Please, owners, I implore you to work on the acoustics. It honestly kept me from giving you that fourth star. I could barely hear my companion, yet still somehow heard the conversations of everyone else around me clearly. My food took a bit too long to come out. I’ll admit there was a modification involved, but I don’t think it really excused my wait time. It was just long enough to frustrate me. I ordered the Chicken Lettuce Wraps. I was disappointed the chicken wasn’t minced, as chicken chunks are a bit harder to wrap, but I managed. The entrée itself was decent. Generous serving of fillings and big crisp lettuce leaves. This restaurant gives romane instead of iceberg for wraps. The sweet-chili sauce was the highlight of the meal, not that I considered drinking it from the cup, it was just on point. Look, I hate when this happens. When I want so badly to love a place and find my expectations dashed. It has all of the right elements. Downtown Location, great décor, good food, friendly staff. But overall each category(aside from service) just falls glaringly short. I can see this being a good place to meet up with friends, maybe some after-work drinks and socializing, but I wouldn’t come here for the culinary experience.

One of my favorite sushi places in Tallahassee! Ate there last night to celebrate completing a presentation and enjoyed 5 rolls so quickly I didn’t have time to take a picture! We started off with the ceviche which was excellent. Very fresh and the jalapeños added just the right amount of spice. It was fresh and delicious. The Mexican, hurricane, and spider rolls were my favorite! The staff was very attentive, my water and wine glasses were never empty. I definitely recommend for sushi lovers!

Jasmine Café has been a hip, downtown staple for years. With it being in the center of downtown and just up the hill from FSU’s campus, the location is what we consider prime. The contemporary atmosphere welcomes businessman and young college folk alike. The service my parents and I had for lunch last week was utterly phenomenal. Our server had us laughing and smiling during the entire meal. She was timely, attentive and received a large tip from our party.(At least I think, Dad…) We all ordered appetizers. The Spicy Calamari salad was excellent. Presentation floored me away.(I even posted it on the Unilocal Tallahassee Instagram page.) Served cold, yet with a slight spice — it was my favorite part of the meal. The beef curry was just alright for me. I’ve been on a curry kick the last few months, and honestly, I felt something to be desired after this. It’s more of a rice bowl, with curry sauce added in, as opposed to a traditional curry broth base. The beef had flavor and I love the addition of sprouts, but I expected more. My parents enjoyed their food, too. Jasmine Café has chalkboard beer and wine specials handwritten on a large wall. There are TV’s, a sushi bar to sit at, and an espresso machine for a post meal caffeine boost. They also have regular sushi lunch specials and a spacious dining room in the back for larger parties. Also, the Mac DeMarco playlist didn’t hurt, either!

Jay waited on my boyfriend and me this evening and was nothing short of super attentive and pleasant. It was our first time eating here and we got seated right away. My only complaints are the miso was a little salty, the ginger dressing wasn’t the orange type I’m used to, and I wish the sushi was colder. But Jay is actually the reason we’re about to go see Mad Max in IMAX right now!

Jasmine is a funky downtown place with a small, loud front room on the street and a quiet room in the back. The menu is pretty standard rolls and apps you would see at the other Japanese/Asian spots in town. The two rolls I had — rainbow and hurricane — were average at best; the fish was fresh and fine, but the rice was dry and they both lacked any distinct flavor. My wife had the spicy ramen, however, and she found it quite good(tho indicated that it could be spicier). Service was average/slow, but our server was left covering too many tables so not really her fault. Compared to other Tallahassee eateries in this genre, it’s on par with Masa and a step above Hasu and Azu, but a step below Sakura.

Great service, small comfortable-to-the-point-of-being-too-cramped space. TVs available, sushi bar, and a chalk wall with drink specials. Cool ambiance, gets kind of noisy the more packed it is though and on a Friday night, it gets packed. Got there around 7 and by the time we left, people were waiting to be seated. Nice to see a downtown place that caters to small town Tallahassee, alternative Tallahassee, and college town Tallahassee. Food was OK. Good variety including vegan option(tofu) and gluten-free(rice). Had a chicken stir fry with peanut sauce and it needed more sauce but had a plentiful serving of veggies(the good kind, not a cabbage and carrot mix… yes I’m looking at you Robotos hibachi). Took a little long to get the food, which considering the fact we didn’t get starters… might’ve made the wait seem much longer. Maybe just in case, for the saké of us all, don’t go here hangry.

I had a decent experience here BUT I came in right before the lunch rush when it became very cramped and crowded so I can see why the space is an issue. Jasmine Café is located in downtown Tallahassee and offers a variety of sushi and bowl options. I ordered a shrimp bowl with some sort of spicy curry sauce, no rice and extra vegetables. The shrimp was awesome and the vegetables were pretty fresh but I didn’t think the portion was very large. I think it probably would have been more satisfying with rice but I don’t do rice so that’s probably where I went wrong. My coworker got the salmon bowl and said it wasn’t cooked very well. She said it was way too salty. It took sort of a long time for us to get our food but I mostly attribute that to a huge crowd which formed shortly after we arrived. There really aren’t a ton of dining options in downtown Tallahassee. If you want sushi or a teriyaki-stir fry-style bowl and you work downtown, this is probably your best bet. I don’t think I would actively seek Jasmine out otherwise.

I came here a few days ago for the first time because I’ve heard of their $ 10 special. You get 2 sushi rolls, soup, and salad. A few things to note: 1. There’s a list of about 7 sushi rolls that you can choose from; you can substitute one and pay the exact difference 2. If you carry out you have to pick between the soup OR salad I ordered the Japanese Bagel and the Spicy Alaskan(I think that’s the name.) I also got the soup. I didn’t drink the soup because I thought it was going to be the clear soup, not miso soup, so I’m not taking it into consideration for this review. On to the sushi. It was average. It wasn’t amazing, and it wasn’t superb either. The pieces are a bit small but it was 2 rolls so it was fine. I wasn’t blown away or anything, it was truly just average. Would I return? Probably so because it was only $ 10 and I would like to explore other things on the menu. But please don’t come here expecting amazing sushi because you won’t get it.

Stopped in here after Springtime Tallahassee and sat down with a group of 3 in about twenty minutes. Service was pretty slow, but in a way that’s alright when you aren’t in a rush. I ordered the udon soup without egg. I’ve never had udon soup before, so I can’t comment on how it’s supposed to taste, but my soup broth was pretty good. Noodles were thick and had nice texture. The seafood in the soup was a little fishy tasting and I kinda ate around it. I regretted not getting the sushi lunch and will probably come back to try their rolls.
