Oh my, it was amazing. Did takeout — lunch special shrimp tempura and philly and tried the wife’s fire dragon maki and it was spectacular. The woman up front was so nice and helpful. Had an extra 10 minute wait and she brought it out to my car… curbside pickup style. Was looking for a sushi place near me and THISISIT! Lunch roll special is where it’s at.

After looking at all the photos on Unilocal and reading the reviews I had to try the food. I decided to order a few things to taste a little bit of everything. I ordered krab ragoons, salmon tempura roll and a shrimp teriyaki dinner that came with miso soup and a side salad. The food was packaged very neat and secure. I wasn’t a fan of the krab ragoons or the ginger dressing, they were both on the sweet side, and I prefer them a bit more savory. The salmon tempura roll was very fresh and neatly packaged. I really liked the spicy mustard sauce. Lastly the teriyaki shrimp was amazing. I don’t order shrimp, I’m not a huge seafood person, I don’t like the fishy smell and taste. The fishy smell and taste in this dish was nonexistent and so very good. The rice was lovely and the veggies were good as well. I’m very happy with my experience today and I can’t wait to go back and try more.

I read a review from a fellow Unilocaler saying this location is not quite up to par with the one off Thomasville. Quite frankly, I have to agree. I’ve been to this one about three times. The first time I went the BOGO deal was poorly explained to me and my boyfriend so we ended up spending more than we originally thought. This evening I went to have dinner with my cousin and upon receiving our drinks we waited about 15 – 20 minutes until I decided to flag down our waiter so we could order. It took another 10 – 15 minutes until we actually received our food despite it not being too busy. Kiku’s serves wonderful food. At this particular location, I enjoyed my BOGO sushi and BOGO wine, but the service isn’t quite as satisfactory as the other location.

I’ve been going to Kiku for a little over 1 ½yrs now and I can say the food is good. They’ve got some solid rolls and killer crab Rangoon. The service could use some upgrading. Some of the servers are plain rude. Ambience gets a 5. Definitely a place from a friendly lunch to a nice date.

First visit. Like many others, I’ve walked by it going to shops on either side. What a mistake. I just wasn’t in the mood for sushi today so ordered the scallop hibachi lunch special. The salad had sat in the chill box for a bit so the dressing had separated a bit, with the liquid at the bowl bottom. It was tasty regardless. The soup was simple and balanced. The scallop plate was just the right size for lunch. Satiated but not stuffed. I will definitely do myself a favor and return.

KIku’s lunch special is pretty damn good and cheap! My only issue was with our server. Tall blonde guy. He was soooo slow. Forgot my friends food 3 times. And just seemed a little ditzy lol. Really good though!!!

Food was outstanding and even on a game day the service was prompt. Certainly will return on my next visit.

Great sushi ! The Fire Dragon Maki roll is my favorite and the BOGO deals are a definite plus to the already great tasting sushi.

First, how can you beat BOGO sushi?! Second, the volcano roll is unreal. Every time I go, I rotate between the Green Dragon Maki and the Volcano Roll. They’re so good I haven’t even bothered to try other rolls. Not only does Kiku have BOGO sushi, they also have BOGO house wines. The staff is always so friendly and accommodating. Easily a great place to catch up with friends, have date night, or just treat yourself to one of the best(if not the best) sushi deals in town.

The food and prices are really good. I came during the lunch special hours. However, our food took a while to get to our table. May have been because it was very crowded and on Labor Day.

The sushi here was very good. The wait for the sushi was a little long but the waitstaff was pleasant and quick to take orders. If near Tallahassee airport I would suggest stopping here. The lunch special is a great deal! I would take advantage of that if you come between 11 – 3! Worth the wait

Kiku is my go to spot for sushi in Tallahassee. They always have great deals and even better sushi! Kiku offers BoGo sushi deals all day, every day. You buy a speciality roll and get to pick from a list of other rolls for free. For my free roll I always choose the philly roll which has smoked salmon, cream cheese, and avocado, but I try and mix it up for the speciality roll. My two favorite speciality rolls are the Sunshine Maki and the Fire Dragon Maki. They both have tempura and cream cheese which are my favorite ingredients in sushi! Kiku has very good rolls and for the price the amount of sushi you get is great. They also has BoGo wine specials all the time! And of course, don’t forget desert! The tempura cheese cake is to die for. Fried cheese cake with ice cream, what gets better than that?

I’ve passed this place countless times on my way to the supermarket and just never thought of trying it out. And boy, do I regret not having discovered this place earlier. Don’t let the fact it’s located in a storefront next to «Club Publix» fool you. When you walk inside, it looks like a hip, classy restaurant that appears to belong on a popular strip or inside a resort hotel. No question the owners dropped a good amount of money on this place. But that’s not why you should visit. The reason to check Kikü out is the great food at surprisingly low prices. In looking over the menu, most of their items are very reasonably priced, especially the lunch specials that allow you to pick 2 sushi rolls from a long list for $ 9.95 and this includes miso soup and ginger salad. For $ 2 more, you can make it three sushi rolls. At under $ 10, the bento boxes are also a big bang for the buck. I opted for this because it includes 4 pieces of sushi along with rice, spring rolls and the chosen main dish. The one pictured is the Yaki Chicken Udon bento box. In short, I highly recommend this place. I am a big fan of Jasmine Café downtown, but I have to say Kikü betters it.

This has been my sushi go-to for quite some time. During lunch they have great specials on sushi: 3 rolls for $ 13 and 2 rolls for $ 10. That’s including a salad AND miso soup. You can’t go wrong there. With that sort of price you’d think the selection would be limited to one-ingredient rolls, but you’re wrong. Lots of flavor packed in, and portions to match. My combo: green roll, avocado roll, and spicy salmon. Bento boxes and hibachi are on the lunch specials as well. I also enjoy that you can order a large pot of hot tea for the table for around $ 3. I usually have great service here. There is one man that is constantly my waiter, and he is always happy to see me and whoever else I can drag along. I joke that it feels like he never leaves the place. Now, something I dread every time here is going to the restroom.(Not sure if it is fixed now, but during all my visits, it has been the same.) The door to the women’s room does not lock properly. It’s one room, and I’ve walked in on someone at least 3 times. Have no fear, though, because my recurrent visits to this establishment have allowed me to unlock the secret.(That pun was seriously not intended, but I’ll take it.) Lift the door by the handle just a bit ANDTHEN click the button to lock. Either that or bring the door forward a little. This is the fool-proof way not to be walked in on by another guest or employee. Trust me. They’ve tried. Anyway, yes, I enjoy the rolls.

Very nice rolls! We enjoyed«The Beauty and The Beast» and«Fire Dragon» Maki as well as great taste and hi 5s for the Jalapeño Tempura! Now, when it comes to service… lots of improvement opportunities!

Great prices for the sushi. Cool atmosphere, great deals, great service. What ruined it was the cheesecake tempura, but maybe I was just too excited and had high expectations. Had the fire dragon and the Philly roll and it was great! My date had something that was supposed to be super spicy with a wasabi sauce and smoked fish on top but it was just ok.

If you’re looking for great sushi with even greater deals then this is the place for you. Kiku Japanese Fusion, located right next to the Publix on Ocala, is the known for its daily 2-for-1 sushi rolls(dine in only) and Bogo specials on beer and wine specials during select hours. Because you’re getting a good amount of Sushi, you don’t have to spend more money on appetizers and such(I never have) which don’t really stand out anyways. Last time I went I ordered a Pirate Roll and Philly Roll, both very good and unique. If you’re into wine, the cheapest cup is $ 4 which is a good deal when you’re getting Bogo. As college students we’re always trying to find ways to go out and have a good time without spending so much money(usually failing in the process). Do yourself a favor and try Kiku’s, you won’t regret it. Cheers!

The food here is tasty, but the service is lacking. The lunch special(M-Sat) is a good deal: $ 10 for miso soup, salad, and 2 rolls of sushi. I ordered the spicy salmon roll and the shrimp tempura roll, and they were both delicious. They have several sushi options — including tuna, which I don’t order unless I know the source because of the over-fishing of blue tuna — and you can pay extra for nigiri or sashimi. The service was forgetful. We had to ask for refills on beverages several times, with some people never getting their refills in the end. They were also impatient while we were ordering/if we had questions, which was uncomfortable at best. This place is worth a visit for the price and the food quality.

Kiku has quickly become my go-to spot for Tallahassee Sushi, especially considering their daily happy hour for BOGO sushi. For the record, this isn’t cheap low quality collegey sushi, like some other spots around town; but, on the flip side, its rather pricey. What I like best is the presentation of their signature rolls as it is typically creative and photo worthy. For example, the Moon Night Maki is arranged in a standing, half-moon shape that will have heads turning; and its delicious. The Candy Bar Maki is quite great too, served with a honey wasabi sauce. The Butterfly and Kiku Maki are fantastic as well. I was not the biggest fan of the Emperor Maki, which is topped with seared steak, but I still enjoyed every last bite(I simply wouldn’t order this roll again unlike the others that I have tried). I have yet to try anything else on the menu but if you’re looking for some great sushi, definitely give Kiku a shot.
