I used to love this BBQ, now sadly it is almost tasteless! I hope the owner who is almost never working there any more reads this and takes the constructive criticism. Brisket we got last time was touch and had such little flavor. Sauce is still good. Fries were pale and unseasoned. Beans were good. Please bring back the homemade taste!

This used to be one of the best BBQ places in Tallahassee. That was then, this is now. The mediocrity of the food is exceeded only by the snottiness of the service. I ordered a pound of brisket, 3 rolls, and 2 orders of fries($ 25!). The meat is fairly tough with no evidence whatsoever that it had actually been cooked over a flame, let alone BBQd. No smoke ring… hell, no smoke taste for that matter. It took forever to get the food(the woman went to the convenience store and left the man by himself), and when I got it I noticed they hadn’t included the fries. The guy said the woman didn’t tell him I’d ordered fries. He also said he couldn’t issue a refund, only the woman could, so I could either wait on fries or wait for her to get back. When she finally got back she gave me big attitude about refunding my money, like this was my fault rather than hers. If I’m ordering food from a trailer and paying the same amount I would at Outback I expect spectacular food and friendly service. This was crappy food and inept service, with a healthy dose of bitch. Avoid at all cost.

On the corner of capital circle and apalachee parkway you will see a mobile structure behind a sign that claims to «break yo mouth» lmao! Mo bettas is a tallahassee gem and a wonderful place to pull over and get yourself a 6 dollar, soul filled, drippin in love plate of lunchtastic! This is serious barbecue with a custom sauce!

Outstanding fall off the bone ribs. Perfect with just the rub but the bbq sauce takes it to a new level. Great slaw and unique beans. Will def go back to the Shell parking lot and enjoy more ribs. The chicken was smoked flavorful and juicy. Deep fried sausage was good. Would absolutely recommend that you take the time to enjoy this goodness

I am Visiting Tallahassee and thought the food was well prepared. Lite smoke, nicely spiced that was tender and moist. You can eat them with the rub only or add that amazing BBQ sauce(if you like a sweet and tangy BBQ sauce) as they serve it on the side. Beans and rice were good also. I’ve cooked professionally for years and to the review that said they were chewy are wrong, that was a properly slow cooked meat. Ribs fall apart when you boil or use a moist cooking method .If a rib is dry cooked properly it will retain more grip to the bone.

Don’t get the hype. Read all the reviews and we were so excited to try this place. The owner(or wife of) took our order and she was very sweet. We ordered the ribs, chicken, pork, yellow rice, beans and fries. Ribs were meaty but tough and lacked flavor. The bbq sauce was sweet and weird tasting. The chicken was bland. The French fries were hot and delicious though. I had to bake and broil the ribs over again in bbq sauce that was more to our liking.

Mo Betta’s the best! Am vsiting Tally from the Boston area(not known for it’s BBQ) and over morning coffee/email check, saw a Groupon deal for another BBQ place that had mediocre Unilocal reviews, so I searched Unilocal for the best rated BBQ. Loved what I read about MoBetta, from the fabulous food to the very friendly owners, so I showed it to my sister(who lives here) & we put onto our Gotta Do someday list. Do not underestimate the value of Unilocal reviews when checking out restaurants! This is absolutely the best take-out BBQ place in town, and probably the best local BBQ period, if you’re not fussy about eat-in reataurant cachet. After my email check, I went out on a blazing July day to sod a strip of yard. A few filthy hrs. later, we ran out of sod so my sister went out for more. She was gone longer than expected so I thought she was shopping around. When she came back, she had a surprise… two pounds of MoBetta BBQ pork, with sauce on the side, for dinner. I could barely finish the yard work, having savored the incredible aroma of the unsauced meat and then the sauce. I’m so very happy that the food not only lived up to but exceeded my expectations. The chopped pork even without sauce was tender, juicy and wonderfully-flavored. We chose sauce-on-side so we could sauce the meat to indiv. taste. The sauce has just the right balance of smoky flavor with a tiny kick, and sweet not cloying. It was such a wonderful treat after such lousy yard work! We made our own sides so cant comment on theirs, but Im incredibly impressed that the very friendly owner treated my sister, a 1st time customer, to a cold drink on the house, while she waited not-all-that-long for the order. He did advise that on weekends it’s wise to phone in orders ahead, to avoid a wait on their busiest days. Looking forward to trying each and all of their BBQ meats, which I’m certain will Break Yo Mouf in the best possible way.

I had pulled pork sandwich, bbq beans and fried okra. It was all pretty good, sauce was nice and the beans had a nice bit of smoky meat in them, just like I like them. Simple, quick, and inexpensive, you really can’t ask for much more, save for a few more interesting sides. Other reviewers enjoyed the ribs, so I’ll have to take that up next visit!

It really is better at Mo Betta! Seriously, some of the best bbq I have had in my life. I usually get the rib dinner with a side of Mo Betta Beans and fried okra. I have also had the pulled pork sandwich which was crazy delicious.

The ribs were some of the best I’ve ever had. Just the right amount of smoke. Cooked just right. When you bite into this rib, it comes off the bone cleanly and doesn’t fall all apart. Neither is it too tough. The beans were amazing. Just the right amount of sweetness mixed with a little meat. The fried okra was just right — crunchy and hot! I was so impressed with this little food truck! I plan on going back a lot more often.

Best BBQ in Tallahassee. I’m from Memphis so my reviews aren’t biased. ½ lb chopped pork sandwich. Break yo Mouth! Pulled Pork nachos are epic. Friendly staff. Go get you some!

Not really sure what all the hype is about? We waited a long time for our brisket, pork and fries. The fries were hot, but the rest wasn’t. Most of the meat was tender, but some pieces of gristle were in there. The main turn off is the sauce, it is SO sweet and they put a lot on the sandwiches. I wish the sauce was do it yourself.

I love this place. The atmosphere is laid back. Mr mobetta and his staff are kind and will chat with you. The BBQ is very good. I really love the brisket and chicken. I loved this place so much I recently spent 400 dollars for part of my wedding reception. They had the large order packaged hot and ready to go with time to spare and made our reception that much better. Go break yo mouth!

I’ll go ahead and just say it. It doesn’t get Mo Betta than Mo Betta. Five stars in category(food truck/trailer, on location Barbeque). While brisket and pulled pork are options, I recommend going straight for the ribs(you’ll regret not getting the full rack…). This is located at the SE corner of capital circle and the Parkway. Sure… You could go to Sonny’s(¼ mile to the North) but you’d be selling yourself short. The deal is that this is a take-home operation. Surely, you’ve eaten at home before though. I’m trying to think of something bad to say about Mo Betta’s(to make this a more credible write-up) but I can’t. If you don’t fancy pulling in to a gas station and heading up to the window in the trailer to place your order, that’s your deal — and you’d be missing out! (I would have taken a picture of the plate(½ rack, baked beans, greens) but that would have required a discipline to wait. And, Mo Betta’s Barbeque wasn’t going to eat itself. (P.s., I noticed the one 1-star post, put up by someone who’s only put up one review. That’s not-at-all suspicious… :/)

My parents are the Burberry/Ferragamo/Brooks Brothers wearing crowd. Nothing wrong with that(And if you do have a problem with it, let it be known that I might own a few of those brands myself. Fightin’ words, yo). What does that have to do with Mo Betta BBQ? I’m just setting the stage. My Burberry/Ferragamo/Brooks Bros wearing parents deigned to visit us in Tally a few years back and I dragged them to Mo Betta to pick up a massive order of BBQ. They be big city people, originally from Tokyo(Pop. 13 million), lived in Los Angeles for 30 years(Pop. 15 million), and consider their current city of residence, population 500,000, to be a country village(again, setting the stage here). So, they’re already in culture shock from the settlement of Tallahassee itself, when we pull into this(let’s face it) sketch looking gas station and drive up to the MO Betta trailer… aaaand they declined to get out of the car. They cited travel fatigue, but the look of apprehension in their eyes suggested different. I scoffed at them as only a good son can; I’ve only experienced absolutely wonderful, friendly service and have struck up a number of conversations with fellow customers of all walks of life under the Mo Betta awning. I returned to the car with bags of food and let my folks stew in the amazing smells during the drive home, hoping to help them get over the apprehension of eating what they thought of as «street food.» Another side bit to help further set the stage — my parents are former restauranteurs and wholesalers who personally knew Wolfgang Puck and used to play golf with Nobu Matsuhisa, so they’re used a certain level of pomp when it concerns food. Several years later, my folks STILL talk longingly about the ribs from Mo Betta. Their food is fantastic. So fantastic, that there have been late nights when I’ve driven by, the siren song of the smoker is going, and I’ve had the subsequent fleeting thought of driving off with the smoker hitched to my SUV. If you’re afraid of the sketch factor of the gas station, do yourself a favor and get over it! Go. PS: I second Steven R. — the beans are rockstar quality.

Great BBQ. Funny team. Just the location at the petrol station is a bit curious but anyhow… We had Beef and Pork plus cole slaw and beans and everything was delicious.
