Newk’s

We have a friend who told us once that this place was like Panera bread, only Panera Bread on steroids, wrapped in bacon, fried in butter, and served by Ninjas flying on jetpacks which the exhaust smells like vanilla! They did not understate this place at all. Holy Schniekies this is the best sandwich shop south of Manhattan! I cannot possibly describe the simply amazing taste of the grilled pimento cheese sandwich my wife got, it is from another world. She paired it with a terrific Tomato basil bisque. I enjoyed a delicious margherita pizza, of which the crust was apparently made of manna from Heaven. Have you ever had a pizza melt away in your mouth before? This pizza did just that, I did not want it to end. The staff was very friendly and attentive. We are looking forward to our return visit to this wonderful place.

Consistently good food with great service. I’ve been somewhat of a regular for about a year now and am always impressed. The rotating soup menu for each day is great, even though every one I know wishes they could get a tomato basil soup everyday. My favorite part is probably the croûton, cracker and snack bar. If I’m in somewhat of a rush but still want great food, this is the place to go. I’d choose it any day before Panera across the street.

I’ve been here a lot! Lol. I’ve tried a few of the soups, the turkey sandwich and pizza. The staff is very friendly and welcoming. The presentation of my food is always great. I haven’t dined in yet, but my take out looks awesome! One soup I didn’t care for is the Tomato and Basil, it kinda made me gag, but there is reason for it. I forgot what the reason is, but it’s me not Newks. The turkey sandwich is delicious, warm and full of flavor. Newks is my new spot.

This is a great restaurant. Whenever you walk into Newks it always feels clean, and inviting. The food is quite tasty, and reasonably priced. I’ve tried a good number of their sandwiches each as delicious as the last, also their lobster bisque is also extremely tasty, and my gf enjoyed their salads. A nice, healthy, fast restaurant that is a welcome change to the fast food mecca that is Tallahassee.

This is a great place to eat. No server but great counter service. Very friendly service. Fresh food, Hugh salads, excellent dressing. They will custom your order. I usually have enough salad for leftovers. Great bread on sandwiches. Affordable.

I think they hire the nicest cashiers here :)
I’ve never had a disappointing experience and they are fast an efficient. Their salads are HUGE and they taste so fresh. You can request your dressing on the side.
Their sandwiches are a decent size, and they are either warm or cold. The combination of their toppings is excellent, and they are so plentiful that you will leave full. Their soups vary per day, but they have a few to choose from.
One of my favorite things is their Mac and Cheese, similar to Panera’s but with 4 cheeses. Its creamy, but not overly so.
You can get a combination of things, such as: salad and soup, sandwich and soup, sandwich and pasta OR just get a big portion of one thing.
Their desserts are also quite tasty! Even their cakes by the slice! If you sign up to their regulars club, you get a free dessert with no purchase necessary and they will mail you a meal coupon for your birthday month!
This particular store is always clean and friendly, the bussers are always so diligent and nice! Don’t forget to leave them a tip :)

After a sub par experience at a previous restaurant, I recommended Newk’s to my party because I knew, ultimately, we would receive great food and great service for a great price.
I must admit, my appetite doesn’t normally gravitate towards this type of cuisine. The soup, salads and small sandwiches array doesn’t excite me. However, newsflash: Newk’s heightens every single dish into a gourmet pleasure, in turn, stimulating me along with a wide range of diners.
The Veggie Pizza was insanely good! Loaded with veggies, even artichoke hearts and scrumptious bites of feta cheese. I would not only order this again, I would choose it over other pizza joints in Tallahassee. ‘Nuff said.
Furthermore, the staff, in particular the bus boy that cleaned up after us, treated us like lifelong friends. He was considerate, diligent and he didn’t even remind us we were hanging out past closing! How polite is that? These are the types of experiences you look for from a restaurant, especially when following an unsatisfactory experience. Keep up the exceptional work, Newk’s.

Alright, so, I’m a huge newks fan especially with their BBQ Chicken pizza. That’s the only pizza I’ve had here though so I figured I’d give the Debra pizza a shot. Very unsatisfied. It’s chicken, feta, and pesto. Crust is glazed with olive oil. It’s just isn’t good, almost flavorless. You can taste the chicken and you can taste the feta. It’s almost as if the pesto ruins the pizza. It’s bland and unsavory. Probably my last first and last time getting it. If your up to a subtle flavor pizza with no good after flavor then this is your pizza! I give the food this time 2 stars.

The Greek Salad would have been great if the had not drowned it in dressing Make sure you order the dressing on the side.

Pleasantly surprised! That would be the best way to sum up my feelings about Newk’s. From the outside you are not really given the impression that you are about to walk into as cozy and well-​designed of a place as you are. The space is HUGE, well lit (with plenty of natural lighting), and beautiful. Side note: There is AMPLE parking. You will never have to worry about finding a space in this lot.
The main offerings range from sandwiches and salads to soups and pizzas. These are, however, some of the best quality items I’ve had from an eatery. The Newk’s Q sandwich featured chicken, bacon, white BBQ sauce, and Swiss cheese. The chicken was some of the tastiest, juiciest, most amazing chicken I’ve ever had. My boyfriend got a pepperoni pizza that had cheese probably delivered directly from heaven. I know I’m being dramatic, but I was just that impressed.
There are tons of options both made fresh and prepared to go. The staff was also very friendly and fast: they even deliver the food out to your table after ordering. While I did not take a step outside to get a better look, there is also a patio seating area to the side that can be enjoyed for when Tallahassee has its finer weather days.
I would HIGHLY recommend anyone who has not yet gone out to Newk’s give it a try. Although a fairly large building and probably company I still consider this to be a Tallahassee gem.

Wanted to find someplace good and not too expensive for Valentines after a movie. First time and not disappointed! I had half steak sandwich and loaded potato soup, wife had Newk’s Favorite Salad. Both are amazing! We’re seriously coming back with our teen sons in way home from church tomorrow!

I was not a big fan of the mac and cheese but the tomato soup was the best I had ever had and they give you large portions of soup for lunch. Definitely recommend

Newk’s is one of my favorite casual dining places here in town. Every menu item that I have had is fantastic. Soups, salads, sandwiches, pizza, Mac and cheese, you can’t go wrong!
Can get kind of crazy during lunch hours, but usually it is more an issue of seating than how long it will take you to get your food.
