LOVE Sidecar. The food is creative, interesting and delicious! I have had many ‘cheeseboards’ in different restaurants, but Sidecar’s Cheese and Meat Board is the best. Recently had the duck bacon BLT — outstanding! The staff are amazingly friendly and helpful. A hidden gem tucked back in Market Square. Sidecar is my new fav Tally restaurant.

Great environment for an intimate lounge with friends. I absolutely love their white Russian drink! After 9pm, you can get 2 free Tacos, then $ 1 for each taco after that. So far I’ve had chicken tacos, I’m not sure when they’ll have beef. I Will definitely try out what their kitchen has to offer before 8:30 pm.

I have been here a few times and it seems like no matter what the time or day Sidecar is always busy. The staff is excellent because, no matter how busy they are I have always gotten a seat relatively fast and felt comfortable waiting. The last time we went the bartender was quick to put us on the waiting list, remembered our names, and kept us happy until a table opened up. Once seated my date and I split a group sandwich and a pickle jar. Both were delicious! The sandwich was the perfect size. The jar was layered and really pretty. My only gripe was there was corn in the pickle jar which is sort of hard to eat /share. Overall I was super impressed by how professional and welcoming the staff was. I loved the food and my drink was good.

Quiet location inside of market square. Very low key and plenty of seating for large parties. We chose a corner with couch cushions. It was nice for an intimate gathering with friends. Always nice to go to a restaurant where you don’t have to scream at each other to hear. All in all though, can’t say we loved it. There are definitely some potential gems on the menu, I just don’t think we ordered very many of them– and we ordered a lot of dishes. To start, we ordered: 1) Sweet & Spicy Bar Nuts– Which were delicious and you get a generous portion size for the order! very happy with this order and it’s great for sharing. 2) Jar of Pickles– These were primarily small, sour pickles(baby dill, okra, and a pepper). We hoped for different varieties, but they were all pickled in the same vinegar and they were not unique. 3) Fried Okra — These were savory bite size poppers. They were a little on the bland side, especially without the sauce for dipping. Again, nothing remarkable, but certainly not bad. 4) Cajun Popcorn– Very mildly seasoned popcorn. Another great item for sharing. Larger plates include: 1) Spuds and Sausage– The homemade sausage was lean, and there isn’t anything remarkable about the mustard and the potatoes. A solid three star dish. 2) Greek Sidecar Salad– This salad was far from impressive. It was deli lunch meat thrown on top of arugula. Salad was fresh and the deli meat was good, but certainly hoped for something more. 3) Modelo Especial Steamed Black Mussels — I didn’t get to try this one because a friend ordered it, but she gave it a solid one thumb up. She said it has a strong sea food flavor, which many people may not like. I think it’s safe to say that anyone who orders this dish probably likes the flavor of sea food. Likely a good choice if you’re like me and love mussels. 4) Grouper Sandwich– By far the best dish on the table. The fish was perfectly fried and perfectly seasoned. Good comfort food dish. We also ordered the Dirty Ginger. It had a good balance of ginger, vodka, and honey.

We were only in town for the night and wanted to eat somewhere close by the dance studio we dropped my boyfriends dad off at. Sidecar was about .25 miles away so we decided to give it a try. I am so happy we did! The food was excellent(we had steak fritte and the shrimp and grits), the service was quick and friendly, the atmosphere on a Thursday night was busy but not packed and the drinks were poured heavy. Everything you would want in a gastropub!

Got into town late on a Tuesday night and was looking for a quick bite to eat somewhere with a good tap list. This place was perfect! They didn’t have their normal late night food available, only tacos… which were awesome. Buy a drink and get two free tacos! Additional tacos are $ 1 each. Sweet deal for sure. I will be back!!!

Our go-to gastropub. Drink specials are great(2−4−1 well drinks until $ 7, and on Wednesday, $ 5 house wine). The crowd tends to be a broad range of ages, which we like, but mostly post-college. And the place fills up(there was only 1 table left at 7:00). The good is consistently good. It runs the range of foodie-style bar snacks such as homemade and house seasoned popcorn; pimento cheese that is goat cheese based(and very yummy); and the wings of the week(which are really strips of boneless chicken breast that are perfectly fried and sauced). And don’t miss these cheese board or charcuterie board! The menu also offers sandwiches(the grouper is fantastic, the Ruben is spot on, and the Brie and prosciutto will bring a smile to your face), and full-on big plates. And the You can’t go wrong, and the variety will satisfy your hunger and stave off boredom. And did I say they have fantastic drinks?

Sidecar gastropub is a excellent pub with extraordinary food. This is not your run of the mill sliders and peanuts; more like Thai mussels, surf and turf, and top notch sandwiches. My wife had the surf and turf where the sirloin was cooked to perfection and the grouper with a twist of lemon, was unbelievably good. I had the Irish sandwich which consists of hand carved corned beef, aged Irish cheddar, minute mustard, and sourkraut. The service was awesome and the entire pub was a well run operation. Excellent place. MUSTGOTO!

One of my favorite local bars in Tallahassee! The drinks are amazing and the atmosphere makes each visit feel intimate. The staff treats everyone like a regular and most customers appear to be. My favorite drink is the dirty ginger, doesn’t get better than fresh grated ginger! Definitely going to be a repeat customer! Nice to get away from the student atmosphere downtown. I’ve not tried much of the food but their beer boiled peanuts, pimento cheese, and cheese & meat board were all excellent.

I have been to Sidecar a few times now. Each time the food has been absolutely delicious. We have had nearly all the sandwiches on their menu and each one is delicious and different in their own right. The meatloaf sandwich is ridiculously good. Being Rye fans we often get the sidecar spicy. It never disappoints. They have some great beer selections. We took my dad and his fiancé when they visited and they loved it. She had the scallop dish and it was cooked perfectly and delicious. She is not a big eater but she cleaned her plate! St. Patty’s day there was the perfect vibe. In fact each time we go there it is the perfect vibe. The right mix of young and old, hipster and yuppie, with a friendly staff. The flavors are great and thought out. As others have mentioned you can order sushi if you want(but the pub food is so great I don’t know why you would.) and that makes it perfect for a couple like us because I am more into sushi than he is. It is a great date spot, a great group spot, great drink spot. My only slight critique is that on busy nights they should have a list at the front door, even if you put your own name on it and they keep their same casual system… We had a small group try to grab our table because they didn’t know better. No big deal, we were cool, they were cool, but just a slight organization of that would be great. This place is a gem. It is what places closer to campus wish they were and what we wish they would be. Keep on Keeping on Sidecar. We will always be back, especially for the meatloaf sandwich.

Fun place for drinks and good comfort food. I like to order the cheese and meat platter with a local draft beer. I give it a four because the place is always packed and loud. I wish their outdoor seating was more stylish and comfortable. If you are not into comfort food you can actually order sushi from Kitcho.

Food was just okay. I got the chicken and dumplings. Was not extremely pleased. Service was really bad. We waited and waited for our drinks and then when they were done we had to wait even long for refills. I did have fun doing trivia night though. I might someday give them another chance.

This is a great place if you’re wanting to spend a little extra. High end but casual. I always get the cheese and meat board with drinks, it’s hands down the best one I’ve had in town! Only bad thing is that every time I’ve gone it’s been really busy and there’s very limited seating. Otherwise, food, drinks, and atmosphere are great. One of my favorite places to splurge.

We arrived around 7:30 and there were a couple of free tables. After snatching one up, we were quickly greeted by our server who brought over water. Great menu! The Thai Duck Wings were amazing! They had a sticky, spicy and slightly sweet sauce that was perfection. Our 2nd appetizer was the made to order Chicharrones. Yes to fried pork skin! They were addictively good and super crunchy. The only issue was that some pieces weren’t as well seasoned as the others. Now for the entrees! The scallops were cooked perfectly and had a great sear. I wasn’t too sure about the mashed potatoes as an accompaniment, but the hubby loved it together. Then I dug into the shrimp and grits. We have been on a shrimp and grits roll lately, trying them whenever they are on a menu. These were very unique! It was a tomato based sauce with these awesome crispy bits of sausage. The cheese grits also had more flavor added to it than the usual grits in this dish at other places. No dessert menu here, but I was stuffed anyway. Great place!

Tucked away in a strip plaza on Timberlane Road, Tallahassee holds a couple of five star paradises. The first being Lofty Pursuits and the second being Sidecar Gastrobar. Don’t let the low key, plain Jane set up fool you, this gastropub is the real deal. Sidecar’s unique atmosphere accents the cool and hip side of a classic New York style bar. An exposed brick wall, dimly lit hanging bulbs and a tight, yet group seating mentality are at the forefront here. This is the sole pub in town for post-work craft cocktails AND elevated pub bites. Filled with an eclectic mix of adults and young professionals, Sidecar unveiled the best and brightest of the Tallahassee bar scene. Don’t let the prices mislead you, the food is abundantly worth the few extra Benjamins. Thai mussels and a colossal Grouper Sandwich aren’t your traditional bar staples. Mussels were cooked properly, tender on the inside. And the ginger, coconut infused broth made for a perfect sopping for the crisp bread. To wash it all down, the Double Whammy did the trick. Jim Beam Bourbon and Not Your Father’s Root Beer. I can’t emphasize how delicious this sweet nectar was. The trendy gastropub has quickly become one of my favorite establishments. The combination of first rate food and cocktails with an appealing atmosphere makes for one of the coolest places in town. Not often can a bar combine a casual and intimate setting all in one experience. Plus a necessary shoutout goes out to Tim, our awesome server. Be sure to visit on other days of the week for daily specials(see the picture I posted). You’ll be taken away just like I was. Plus the playlist included rock n’ roll standards from the Beatles, Stones and AC/DC. And just like those bands, Sidecar is an immortal rockstar.

Don’t be put off by the location! The place is nicer on the inside. It’s dimly lit and there are a few tables or you can seat at the bar. The food is great! It did take a while to arrive, but it was very good. But do not come here super hungry, because as it’s name implies this gastrobar specializes in small plates of high quality food. I’ve had the scallops and they were great! I think the best thing to do here is try a lot of the small plates because they are so tasty. The drinks were also really good, I got a mint and sage cocktail that was refreshing! They can also serve you the menu from Kitcho, next door, but I have not tried that yet. If you do not find anything that you like on the menu you can also look at Kitcho’s menu. They do trivia nights, as well a hospitality nights and other things during the week,

A hidden gem! One of our friends invited us here for her birthday celebration, and I was skeptical(right off of the highway, in a strip mall, all signs that should point to disaster.) The parking lot /strip mall is sort of like a labyrinth, and once we saw the sign for Sidecar, we felt like we had defeated the minotaur. We entered around 8pm, ordered some beers(guava beer? Yes, please) and food. Our waitress reminded us that at 9pm, we would receive 2 free tacos for having purchased an alcoholic beverage. Technically, you could just drink and eat free tacos, but we were famished. I ordered the brie and prosciutto sandwich. It was awesome. Brie, prosciutto, honey dijon mustard, and apples on french bread. Yes, that’s right, apples. And the french fries? Epic. So good that I didn’t need ketchup. 4⁄8 people in my group ordered the short rib sandwich so, in case you were wondering, it’s also pretty good. I also tried the«Irish» sandwich(a sandwich’s take on St. Patrick’s Day) and was pleasantly surprised. Did I mention our awesome waitress? We were a group of 8, sometimes 10 when people weren’t outside smoking, and she treated us amazingly(not to mention, some of the people weren’t super friendly to her because… I don’t know why, European cultural thing? Who knows.) I made sure that we left her a good tip because she represented that restaurant well, and has the patience of a saint. All in all, don’t write this place off like I almost did due to the location — you’re truly missing out if you haven’t been here yet.

I was introduced to Sidecar by my sister during her graduation weekend(Go Noles!). As another reviewer wrote, it really is an «upscale hole-in-the-wall» place that combines a dive vibe, foodie-friendly food, and unique drinks for a delicious experience. We arrived fairly late on a Friday, saw the seat yourself sign, and were lucky enough to score a high top against the wall. I had a Sidecar Spice but really enjoyed whatever beer cocktail my sister ended up ordering. The Pimm’s Ginger was also a nice easy drink. The food was far and beyond the highlight for me. Fried okra, shoestring fries, and house pickles? Yes please. If it hadn’t been 11pm, I would have ordered one of the sandwiches or hot dogs that looked absolutely delicious. Service was a bit rushed and inattentive once they got a rush in about 20 minutes after we arrived, but when this happens I take it as a sign from the universe that I should stop drinking anyways. The people working there were pleasant, the products are delicious, and the prices are surprisingly moderate. I will definitely return if I find myself in Tally again.

This is a hidden gem in the Market Square shopping center. It’s an upscale hole-in-the-wall(if that makes sense) that serves craft beer, cocktails, and great small plate style food and charcuterie.(We had the tellicherry pepper grilled sirloin with garlic fries.) It became packed later on in the evening, so make sure you get there early enough for Happy Hour!

We left the ballet late on a Saturday the night of the UF/FSU game looking for food and I refused to go near campus. This place was in Market Square so it was perfect! They do $ 2 off craft bottles on Saturdays so that was nice. Pretty decent beer selection. Some interesting cocktails — I got some sangria with gin in it(not sure of the name). It tasted like sangria but I got tipsy fast! The bartender said it had a lot of alcohol. They were only serving their late night menu so for food we got the wings(tequila lime) — really tasty sauce, oddly small wings — a meatloaf sandwich — my BF said it was delicious — and a Pro Brie sandwich(I think that’s the name) minus prosciutto — really delicious. The fries were good too and I’m not a huge fan of fries. You also get some tiny dill pickles with the sandwiches. I enjoyed those as well. I think this is a good hidden spot and I’ll likely visit again the next time I’m in town.
