This is a pub, don’t expect to come in and order a mint julep or a cosmopolitan because it won’t happen. The beer is cold and fresh, the prices are good, and the people are friendly. With that being said, there is too much smoke since they don’t have a designated smoking area so you will smell like an ashtray. Pool tables and dart board all work just fine so you can still go and have fun but be ready to drink some beer since hey don’t have liquor.

My boss and I were in desperate need of a beer after a week of political speeches. The only problem — it was 2 am and all the places around our hotel were closed. We found this place on accident and had a great time. Jake is right, if you don’t like «cigarette smoke, sorry formica, sad commentary on the state of humanity and lousy beer choices,» you will hate this place. We embraced that as part of the experience and had a great conversation with the really nice owner, listened to some rockin’ music and got to meet some Tampa residents unlike anybody we would come across in DC.
This place is the definition of dive bar, and we loved it.
To be honest, though, the $ 9 check for 6 beers is a major reason for the 4 stars.

if you like cigarette smoke, sorry formica, sad commentary on the state of humanity and lousy beer choices… this place is for you my friend. And you know, I love dive bars, but they need some quality of personality and this really is truly a factory for people to sit down, drink, smoke, bitch and get out.

I love dive bars. This place definitely fits the bill.
There were several regulars whom filtered in and out while I watched some ESPN and drank my beers; the bartender knew all of their names (I like that).
They let me eat my food from ‘Apadana Pizza’ next door (I assume they are the same place, but they are not connected internally) in the bar area since there is no where to sit down there.
The meatball sandwich was really good, and I could have probably eaten 3 orders of fries, but instead I just drank more of the incredibly cheap beer. YAY cheap beer!
