Boca is right around the corner from work, and it seems to be a go-to place for team lunches and whatnot. So, I’ve been there a few times. The farm-to-table concept is cool, and all of their ingredients are organic, sustainable, etcetera and etcetera — it’s kind of their«thing.» That said, their burger is delectable — the meat itself is on a whole ‘nother plane from other places you can get a burger. I use Five Guys as my burger benchmark, and Boca is one of the few places that makes a burger that actually tastes *better* than 5G. On the other hand, that burger costs $ 13, and 5G is like, $ 7. And that’s my only beef with Boca… the price. Yeah, the food is really(reeeeally) good, but you totally pay for their«thing.» And in my cost vs. benefit analysis, the food isn’t twice as good as other places, to justify paying twice as much.

All organic and self cultivated products which is so rare to find! Im so happy to see a place making the effort to keep organic foods and for that I congratulate you my friends! Now real talk The ambiance of the place is beautiful, plants everywhere and they use so many clever ideas to incorporate recycling in their theme. Food is usually very good they have bacon on Sundays in a brown bag and it is the best bacon Ive had in. forever. The service for some reason is always bad, they always take forever to bring your food or even to attend and to sit you down and they mix up your order more than they should. Ive also had many experiences where they dont have what is in the menu which is a let down since me and my boyfriends are compleate foodies and we go to specific places for specific plates, but oh well there is obviously other delicious options in their recycling paper menu!

We went for happy hour and sat at the bar. The bartender, Brittany, was very accommodating… explained their shift drink and spiked tea as well as all the specials of the day. The Black Water Mixup was DELICIOUS! The happy hour menu was very nice with a variety of options… my friend and I split a burger, truffle fries, a flatbread and a smoked fish spread as well as the FRIEDGREENTOMATOES, which were divine! I will definitely return!!!

More like 4.5 stars! This place is where you should be everyday of the week, especially for Sunday brunch. Parking was bit of a problem but nothing unbearable. I love how this place is set up, very cozy with specs of green throughout the restaurant. I could smell the sweetness of basil while we were seated outside. Our waiter was super cool and checked on us quite often throughout our food journey. Plus, we had the pleasure of meeting Troy, restaurant manager. He came by to check on us, great surprise. We started the brunch with the oh-so-refreshing Ginger Pomberry. Who knew the mixture of pomegranate, strawberry and ginger goes so well, bravo to whomever made this drink into reality. Next came the salads, we opted for Organic spinach and Caprese, both were amazing. The goat cheese croquette, WOW, loved it! The only criticism I had was the spinach salad was overly dressed. The dressing was fantastic but overpowered the subtle flavors of spinach and almonds. For entrees, we had Boca bacon and 7 spiced ahi Tuna. Boca bacon aka BLT was amazing, best part was the fried egg amidst all the bacon goodness. I could eat that everyday. The ahi tuna dish wasn’t what I was expecting but great nonetheless. It was surprisingly light, loved the lightly seared tuna and grilled bok choy. I just wished it was little spicier. Since no meal is finished without dessert, we ordered the chocolate tart with macerated berries. I really didn’t care for it, the tart shell was too hard to cut into. Overall, fantastic meal. I’ll def be back.

Our party of 3 went to Boca for a late Sunday brunch, and were seated almost immediately. Our server came right over and took drink orders, as well as an order of bacon and PBR. Again, drinks and bacon arrived fairly quickly. Our food order was hardly complex… a flatbread, a BBQ pork eggs benedict, and an order of pancakes. Our order went in and we began to wait. 20 minutes goes by and another party is seated next to us, and they are also served promptly(important!). Our server comes by and tells us our food shouldn’t be much longer and brings us another round of drinks. 25 more minutes pass, and our server is nowhere to be found. I finally see what should be my dish coming out, and to my dismay, it went to the party next to us, who was seated 20 minutes after we placed our orders. Finally, our server reappears and we had to physically tap him on the shoulder as he walked by our table, as if he was avoiding the table. We told him that it was unacceptable that our food was taking so long and that we would like to speak with a manager. He went back into the kitchen, and no more than 3 minutes later, reappeared with a manager and all 3 of our dishes. The manager apologized and offered us 50% off the bill for the wait, which was nice of her to do. Unfortunately, it didn’t end there. Both the flatbread and the eggs benedict were cold, and the pancakes were burnt to a blackened crisp on the outside, yet raw and runny inside. We again flagged down the server to send back the raw pancakes. The manager emerged again in less than 2 minutes with a new plate of pancakes, and it felt that she scorned us for sending back something as simple as pancakes. One bite into the new pancakes, and they were just as raw as the first ones, but slightly less burnt. For the final time, we flagged down the server, who at this point I felt bad for. He took the pancakes back to the kitchen, as well as the other half eaten plates, and returned to tell us our entire bill was comped. No sight of the manager, just an apology from the server. We will not be returning to Boca. If you plan to go… pick a weekday during lunchtime when there are only 5 – 6 tables full. There’s no way their kitchen can screw that one up.

I go to Boca often as it is a few blocks from my house and had been meaning to review the place. The food is pretty good, I love the bone marrow, all of the flatbreads are awesome and the pickled board which is unique. The service on the other hand is typically very slow. On my visit this week our service was so poor I felt it was time to review. One server came over, brought menus, took our drink order and let us know he would not be our server but our server Jordan would be with us soon. Our drinks took a good 15 minute to arrive. All we ordered was beer and wine. We then waited another 15 minutes for her to come back and take our food orders. The food actually came quickly which is not typical for Boca. Then she asked if she could bring our checks while one of the people at our table was still eating. This is a major pet peeve of mine. We did not mention that we were in a hurry and no one was concerned about our time when we were waiting on our drinks or waiting to order. She quickly brought our checks but never came to pick them up. We waited at least 10 minutes for her to pick up our checks until we just went inside and brought them to her. Not once during the entire experience did she apologize for taking so long to provide service.

Epic fail at Boca tonight. Ordered the Red Snapper and for $ 30 they brought out a 3oz piece of fish. The manager said they were 8oz filets. I challenged him to a bet. I said if it is 8 oz I would pay him $ 100 per ounce, but if it was less than 8oz he would pay me $ 100 per ounce for each ounce less than 8oz’s. He declined. Also, they claim their food is locally sourced, but if this was actually red snapper and locally sourced it was certainly illegally harvested because snapper in the gulf is out of season. If it was harvested from the Atlantic it is most definitely undersized. In my opinion this was most likely a Lane or Vermillion snapper.

Boca has been in my bookmarks 4ever and I was so excited to finally get a chance to go. I went for lunch(ok so I’m more of a lady who lunches than does dinner, mainly because of my schedule, but also because the lighting conditions for pictures are at its prime during lunch) and was underwhelmed by their lunch specials, especially because they didn’t have(enough) tuna to make the ahi tuna tartare. I tried the oysters, banh mi flatbread, and the 7-spiced yellowfin ahi tuna. The oysters were topped with creamed spinach and kale, BACON, and a sriracha horseradish aioli. Can’t go wrong with these ingredients. The banh mi flatbread was a modernized version of the Vietnamese favorite. My Vietnamese date was very disappointed, but I enjoyed it. Don’t order it expecting it to be like the sandwich, because it’s not, but it’s good for what it is– a banh mi flatbread. My dish, the yellowfin ahi tuna was served with black rice. The tuna was generously portioned with very thick slices. I wasn’t a fan of the rice and the tuna dish overall was ok. I actually switched orders with my date since I enjoyed the banh mi flatbread much more than the tuna I had. The tuna is comparable to Edison’s, but even though Edison’s is smaller in pieces, it was much more flavorful. Overall, I think the oysters were the best of the three items. Half of the reason why I only gave Boca three stars was the apathetic service we received that day. I try to only review the food, but the service we received during that lunch period was dismal. Our waiter was short in his responses and acted like he was disinterested in us. We didn’t feel very welcomed by him, but the hostess was very friendly. Boca has good food, but so do many other restaurants in the area that serve a similar menu. I wouldn’t say to NOT go here, but I would check out nearby restaurants first before settling here.

I’ve been meaning to stop in here for so long, and I’m so glad that I finally did. I stopped in with my family last weekend for at lunch/brunch time and ended up having an awesome experience. I’d default to 4.5 stars out of 5 if I could, but I bumped it to 5 because the food was so satisfying. Boca, despite my having always thought that it was an Italian restaurant, is a delightful little Modern American place which is falling in with the current trends of American and Southern classics, elevated, in a beautiful restaurant with plenty of flair. The restaurant itself is decorated with lots of wood and warm colors. Sorta hipster-y but still very comfortable and functional. In the front of the restaurant there’s a little cooler from which you can buy items like duck eggs and local organic produce. There’s a lettuce wall. And most of the food is served on things like slate or wooden boards instead of a standard plate. It may not be for everyone, but that’s the direction I like my food trends to go! Service was good but not perfect. Our server was friendly and our food came out quickly, but when she wasn’t actively taking our order our waitress was nowhere to be found for drink refills, and when I asked for hot sauce she disappeared for more than five minutes before I got up myself and grabbed some from the service stand. The food was definitely the best part. Our party of 3 split the fried green tomatoes, which were some of the best I’ve ever had. The breading was crispy and didn’t fall off the tomatoes, and the tomatoes themselves were the perfect texture. For our main courses I got the breakfast hash, my boyfriend got the burger, and my mother got the heirloom caprese salad. Although I will admit I really wanted to order a lot of other things off the menu, but I was on good behavior and didn’t let myself. Definitely some not-safe-for-waistline offerings here. But what we did receive was absolutely delicious. My hash was perfect, as was the burger, and even the caprese salad was elevated thanks to the burrata cheese. Despite being an ‘elevated American’ hipster-y place, the prices were pretty reasonable. Usually for a restaurant like this you’d expect nothing to be under $ 15 but in fact, almost everything on the lunch/brunch menu is UNDER $ 15. Maybe not cheap, but definitely cheaper than a lot of places of this caliber. This place is definitely going on my list of repeats. I don’t know when I’ll be back, but it probably won’t be all that long.

Tonight drop a star. Food is good but service is below average. Before I order, I have mentioned we have a concert to catch and need the service and food in hurry. We order a nibble before the concert. We sit on the bar also for this reason to get in and out quick. I have ordered the Mesquite Grill Oyster Rockefeller. The food come out in 10 minutes. Which is good. But when we close out the bill, the bar tender is dragging the feet. We ask the check and he acknowledged it but he keep circle around get the thing for other customers. Seem like he forget. I would said the are few things need to improved. The speed of serving, no hesitation on looking a sit for customers, veggie on the table need to be cover.

We were impressed by the customer service. We walked in and were greeted immediately. We were also greeted again on our way to our table. As soon as we were seated our waiter came over to greet us. He was very nice. We appreciated how attentive he was throughout the night. We had 2 glasses of their red blend(wine), the tuna tartar, fried green tomatoes, oysters, fish special, mango cheesecake and a cup of coffee. Our bill was $ 103 before tip. The tuna wasn’t my favorite but we did like everything else. The 4 star is really for the customer service. Unfortunately I do think everything is a little overpriced.

I have been to Boca’s location in Winter Park and was very pleased with my visit so I thought I’d give this one a go. I was there around lunch time on a Saturday and there wasn’t a wait to be seated. The atmosphere is hipstery and inviting. They have a case filled with homemade jams, sweets, cheeses and delectables for purchase. All of the tables are covered in nice, thick, brown paper with a pot of fresh basil as the centerpiece. There’s also a really neat wall showcasing their hydroponic garden with different varieties of lettuce that they cook with. I ordered the OMG Prime Burger: bibb lettuce, aged white cheddar, pickled onions, tomato, sweet relish aïoli and truffle fries. It came out on a really nice board with an indentation to catch the precious juices from the meat. The fries were the bomb and the hamburger meat was juicy and tasty. Expect friendly service and fresh, farm to table food when you come here!

Dinner before a half marathon. Got the Cheerwine Braised Short Ribs and it was amazing. They give you a steak knife, but it was so tender that if falls apart with your fork and melts in your mouth. This was over some pumpkin stuffed ravioli, which were a bit salty, but also good. Like everything in the Tampa/Hyde Park area it was a bit too pricey.

This idea behind this restaurant is brilliant, farm to table. The size of the restaurant is decent and the décor is nice and rustic. I ordered the bone marrow as well as the banh mi flat bread. The bone marrow was wonderfully seasoned and tasted very fresh. The banh mi flat bread was alright. Some bites tasted entirely too salty due to the soy sauce. The wood plate had a weird smell. Great place, I’ll definitely be coming back very soon.

This neighborhood restaurant offers a collection of cozy rooms, although they can be noisy. The best place to sit is outside, which is warmed by heaters on cool nights, and offers a less rambunctious dining environment. The menu offers a nice assortment of tasting size plates and some interesting flatbreads, plus a couple of nightly specials. We particularly liked the smoked fish dip, which was presented with a variety of accompaniments such as pickled onions and sliced peppers. The fried green tomatoes were a generous serving that looked more like eggplant parmesan. A brie and apple flatbread was sizable, but has a nice thin crust that made it not too filling. All of the wines on the list are available by the glass, and there are some beauties, including Klinker Brick Zinfandel, which won best of show at the state fair a few years ago. Some nice craft cocktails are also on offer. Service was very friendly and helpful.

I like Boca… I don’t like everything I have eaten here, but what I do like, I LOVE. For instance, I wasn’t crazy about their brunch menu on our midday Saturday visit, or their version of a Cuban sandwich, or the flavor of their french fries(probably my least favorite thing on the menu), but on their lunch menu, I absolutely love their flat breads(every one I’ve tried… try the flatbread!!!), their OMG burger(it was tall, juicy, and very tasty) their fried green tomatoes, and the oysters Rockefeller. You can’t go wrong with any of these… This place boasts itself as farm to table eatery serving seasonal fresh, local ingredients in and a very cozy and comfortable atmosphere/environment.They have a wall of various lettuces/greens growing in the middle of the restaurant, and fresh herbs for center pieces on each table. I’d love to duplicate this in my kitchen at home! I have only been here for lunch so far, on three separate occasions, and each time I was greeted by a wonderful aroma(oh yeas, and host), seated quickly(never very busy on my visits), and waited on by pleasant and knowledgeable staff. The parking lot adjacent the building is very small(3 – 4 spaces?), but there is additional parking on the next block. My best recommendation for lunch would be to try one of their affordable $ 9.00 combos(half a flatbread and a soup or a salad).

I came here for Sunday brunch with some friends and it was my first time here as well. I liked the concept of the restaurant but I didn’t like the cluttered feel of the interior. We were basically sitting right next to the other tables and it was quite noisy. I ordered the Corned Beef Hash which was very greasy, but still good because I love onions and the dish did not lack any. I just wasn’t use to that much grease in a corned beef hash. I tried my friend’s pancakes which were so light and fluffy; I’ll most likely order that the next time I go.

This was my first experience to Boca since the Unilocal event in the Summer. I remember loving the oysters, fried green tomatoes, and short rib, & the ahi tuna. This time around I came with friends, and Boca had their brunch menu until 3pm. I really wanted to try their shrimp & grits, but that was on their dinner menu. My friend got the pulled pork benedict with potatoes. She loved hers, and I tasted a piece of it, and it was quite good and had a sweet taste to it. My other friend had the grilled cheese, and she loved that as well. I finally decided on the ahi tuna with black rice, and bok choy. The ahi tuna was really good, but small like smaller than the size of my palm and sliced into 5 pieces. The black rice and bok Choy were just too salty for me. My friend warned me that I would probably be hungry afterward, and for being probably one of the highest prices on the menu, I was. Our server was a joke to me. Has he ever been a server before? Has he ever been served in a restaurant at all. He couldn’t answer questions quite well about the dishes. He ran off quite quickly. He also never asked if we needed more water. We all noticed the demure of this server. It was not one of the better experiences. I am intrigued by offerings here, and I’m sure dinner may be better. They do have an outside patio that is dog friendly. They also do have valet parking just to point out. You can walk from their parking lot to the restaurant from a few blocks away. I’m happy I had one of my coupons from the Unilocal event. That made it a little better.

Love this farm to table restaurant and just discovered farm to my kitchen table option. We often dine in the restaurant, but I love being able to pick up a three course, delicious dinner that generously feeds two for $ 29. They post the menu daily Monday through Friday on social media. A big thumbs up to them for using all biodegradable packaging as well. Boca is great for both lunch and dinner, or even just cocktails. They have put together an interesting menu including a unique cocktail menu that’s worth a thorough reading. It’s an extensive ingredient list. The ingredients for both solids and liquids are interesting pairings and definitely not typical. Most recently saw they did a jalapeño fig sauce for example. They also have a case displaying freshly prepared jarred and bottled items, cheeses, local produce, etc. I was surprised at how reasonable the prices are and how great the produce looked. It can get busy, especially during peak hours, so I recommend calling ahead or making reservations. Parking options are to valet or park a block away in their private lot. Dining is casual, and they have both indoor and outdoor seating.

I’m still a fan of Boca. When I went with Emilio M.‘s family, the staff and cook were accommodating. You see, some of his family are very set in the type of food they like. His mother is a fan of Olive Garden and Red Lobster. The chef was nice enough to make her a special chicken dish with mashed potatoes. One of his sister’s friends was having trouble finding something, but she was able to order off of the kid’s menu with no problem. My only complaint is still the service. It is not the greatest. You have to wait a long time for your server to come back, and even then they are not that attentive. Our server missed asking some of our party what they wanted to drink, and missed taking a food order. Overall, I do enjoy the cuisine and their farm to table aspect. I will be back.
