The food is was what you’ll expect at any Central American restaurant. I ordered the carne asada, and it came with a side of white rice, refried black beans, plantains, and a bit of pico. Nothing special but it definitely took care of my craving. The portion was big and inexpensive. My server was nice and attentive. My only complaint is that the music was way too loud for comfort, at least for dinner. I came in on a Saturday night and there were groups of people enjoying cold buckets of beer and they didn’t seem to mind the loud/club ambiance. I plan on coming back to check out their breakfast menu. I just hope there’s no loud music blaring.

Ayo! This place has been in business at this location for 7 years and only 5 reviews??? What the deuce? Maybe Honduran food ain’t too popular, but it should be. I remember back when Seminole Heights was in its infancy comeback stage, and there was a hip little Mexican joint here called Viva La Frida. It was a gallery and restaurant and I never had the opportunity to eat the food. Not wanting history to repeat itself, La Chica and I stopped in tonight. I ordered the picada Hondureña, and it was slamming! Imagine fajita meat sitting a curry tomato sauce with green peppers and onions. Slop it up with some corn tortillas, and bam! Good and affordable. Will return!

If you are looking for a no frills cheap eat, then this is the place to go. The food was very food considering the price. As always with authentic spanish food, the portions are huge. Overall the menu is pretty limited. Their best dish is their red snapper which is a bargain at $ 20. The décor is pretty bad but at least it seemed clean. Service was pretty attentive and the owner and his friends were very friendly.

Great place to eat some Honduran food. Sometime you have to wait a bit, but is worth it. The owner is sooo friendly and comes by every table to sit and chat. Really like this place! Food is good too. I mostly get the whole fried fish.

El Rincon has definitely cleaned up it’s act. In general, I don’t focus on atmosphere too much unless I’m on a date. As long as the service is welcoming, the place is clean, and the food is great… I’m good to go. They painted the place, the menus are updated, and the music is just right. I’d encourage anyone to give them another try. Don’t come here looking for«ambiance.» Come for great Honduran food!

Okay the Atmosphere may be a little off for most. If you we’re not raised in a Latino household where the music is loud, the laughter even louder and where Most Latinos love soccer DUH. Why not represent your country and have your flag and artifacts in display. So yes I can see now why the mans review made no sense to me. Now if you can get pass the owners décor and pride for his country then you have came to the right spot for a TRUE authentic Central American dish. Full of flavor y para chuparse los dedos. No need to go to Central America when you have this fantastic restaurant in the heart of Tampa.

As the name indicates(in Spanish) this is a Honduran restaurant, in the location formerly occupied by Viva Frida! The physical arrangement of the building is idiosyncratic, and that is a good indicator of what to expect. We went there with some family members that are somewhat adventuresome, but we all agreed not to return. The interior is fairly stark, decorated with some soccer paraphernalia and home country memorabilia… but the entire place was dominated by 2 big-screen TVs blaring Latin music… and out of synch, with an employee tinkering with them incessantly. It had us praying for a power outage… and as time wore on, we were willing to accept a nuclear strike. The server spoke little English and many of the dishes were unfamiliar and not well described so we had to guess at what we were getting. We either guessed wrong or maybe all their dishes taste alike — –fairly bland beef/chicken/pork/meatish-stuff, beans & rice with some shredded iceberg lettuce and ordinary salsa. Food was left on plates as we left in a pounding rainstorm, which was preferable to staying and having to finish the food while our eardrums were being shredded. Regrettably this is one of the strike-outs along the resurgent Seminole Heights/I-275 Corridor.
