After eating at Mr. C’s grilled cheese this is now my go to for lunch! They have several different options on grilled cheese’s along with dipping sauces for the sandwiches. A coworker and I went during lunch and we shared a Monty and Buffalo Soldier when I saw the price tag of $ 9 for a grilled cheese I though geee that’s a little steep but it was worth the full price BESTGRILLEDCHEESEEVER! The bread was toasted perfect the cheese was ooey gooey the chicken was moist and had just enough sauce on the Monty. I’ll be keeping a lookout for Mr. C’s grilled cheese truck and eating there anytime it is near!

Delicious, loaded grilled cheese on Texas Toast. There are options from a more traditional, but loaded, grilled cheese to gourmet options, very loaded. ;-) Pricing ranges from $ 7 – 10 for loaded gourmet, loaded grilled cheese with drinks and fries. A little high for lunch, but come on, who doesn’t love grilled cheese!!! The portions are large and filling — Yum!

Mr C’s was just A-OK to me. For premium prices, I would expect premium ingredients. But it’s just your basic cheddar/American grilled cheese sandwich. I had the one with ham and bacon but honestly, I couldn’t tell that there was even bacon in it. I would have preferred that the bacon added a little crisp to the sandwich to add some texture. Maybe all the cheese just drowned out the bacon flavor. Story time, boys and girls… gather ’round…The best grilled cheese I’ve had was at this place called Soul Gastrolounge in Charlotte. It was circa 2012 but I remember it like it was yesterday. The reason I remember this particular grilled cheese is because they made the brilliant choice by adding kasseri, a Greek cheese, which adds a nice salty flavor. In addition, they used mozzarella and provolone. That right there is how it’s done folks. But $ 9 for a grilled cheese with American and cheddar and deli meat is highway robbery. It got me through the afternoon though. Friendly service helped out the rating.

This is the most delicious grilled cheese I have had in my life hands down. I got the plane Jane, this delectable delight comes on Texas toast stuffed with American & Cheddar cheese grilled to perfection! Your first bite will be bliss! As you indulge you will find the perfect blend of salty buttery flavor on the outer crust and as you sink your teeth you will hit soft fluffy bread and perfectly melted cheese. Slaaaaaaaaammmmmmiiiinnn!!!

Great food. Prices are a little high. But other than that I really enjoyed it :) And the tater tots are crispy and good too :)

Best grilled cheese sandwich I’ve ever had, and it came from a food truck. I wasn’t expecting much, because I was hungry and not wanting to cook dinner for just myself for one night, so I picked some up on the way home as they were close by. I took a bit in the car and and finished before I arrived at my door. Maybe I was just hungry, but that that was a dang good grilled cheese.

I’ve soured on food trucks recently after a couple bad experiences. And then Mr. C’s rolled into my neighborhood. First, the truck is big, bright and attractive. And, as Brett N. accurately pointed out last month, it offers gourmet grilled cheese which is all the incentive necessary. When I saw it, I was too late for food but still stopped to ask about future destinations. The man inside took time to stop cleaning, give me a business card and tell me how to find him in the next week via Facebook. Unlike other food trucks, his Facebook updates are consistent and clearly show where he’s going to be for the upcoming week. So simple, yet others fail miserably to do this. So as I traveled down Waters yesterday, I remembered seeing his post about being in the 4900 block and sure enough, there was that bright orange truck. Before I could even order, he remembered me from our previous chat. The Full Monty was my choice and I found it sensational. Texture is so important to me on grilled cheese and this was simply perfect. Also, it held its own on every bite and never got messy either. While the pesto dip was just not for my personal taste, I also had the tomato soup dip and found it to be a traditional flavorful compliment to the sandwich. My sandwich was prepared quickly and I was on my way to my next destination, where virtually everyone who passed by stopped and asked where I got it. Thank you, Mr. C’s. You’ve renewed my faith in the food truck.

Why 5 stars? Because it’s a food truck that serves grilled cheese. — — — Sometimes my intro has to be creative, but this is a foot truck that serves grilled cheese. Do I really need to dive any deeper to explain why I believe it to be 5-stars? I have felt that Tampa was an under-utilized market for gourmet grilled cheese, but this is my second review of a grilled cheese eatery this week, which says that our little corner of the world is becoming a better place. This review is not dissimilar from my recent entry of Tom + Chee. I ordered a grilled cheese with chicken in it(The Full Monty) and the fiancé ordered the grilled cheese lined with mac-n-cheese(The Mac Daddy.) They were interachangably delicious, and both made me never want eat another meal for the rest of my life. Seriously, if I ate nothing but grilled cheese every day, I could make that work, right? Would I see my retirement age?

I just can’t keep this to myself. After debating whether to go out to lunch or to stay at the office and try Mr. C, I chose Mr. C due to convenience. I understand that most food trucks are overpriced, but I was willing to pay a little extra so not to leave work. I ordered the«Plain Jane» with the fries and drink combo. For $ 7 the grilled cheese consisted of(2) pieces of bread, and some cheese. Then the fries and coke were $ 3. They were the typical krinkle cut fries. The flavor of the sandwich was masked by the burnt edges and the section of burnt bread in with the cheese, so I cannot accurately describe how the flavor is supposed to taste. The fries were, well they were fries and they were cooked correctly, and the coke, well it was in a can. After tasting the food from MrC I cannot in good conscience recommend anyone try the food. Perhaps my experience is limited, but I still do not understand how someone can sell a $ 7 grilled cheese with burnt pieces and expect customers to keep coming back. FYI, the $ 7 grilled cheese is the cheapest sandwich on the menu.

Even though I’m staring at their truck, I can’t check in! Regardless, their grilled cheese sandwiches are amazing! I spotted the truck in front of Six Ten Brewing on my way home tonight, so hubs & I came back up here to try them. And we weren’t disappointed! H didn’t really know what he wanted, and they ended up making him a Standard but substituted chicken for the ham. I got the standard Standard: cheddar & American cheeses with ham, bacon & tomato. Both were delicious! I think I might have enjoyed the altered Standard just a bit more. And, their fries were fresh & prefect.

Mr. C’s Is actually the first food truck I’ve ever eaten from, surprisingly enough. I’m just never in the right place at the right time! My partner in crime and I decided to check out the new Tampa outlets over in the Wesley chapel area on a blazing hot Monday morning. Several trucks were ready to feed the hungry crowd, and I knew a gourmet grilled cheese was precisely what I wanted. I choose the«full monty” — loaded with cheddar and Chihuahua cheeses, chicken, bacon, thousand island dressing piled onto to buttery Texas toast. Very greasy and messy, but delicious. I think that combined with the heat, is what lead me to a 4 hour nap on return to home. Wouldn’t suggest eating one of these when you have alot to do. :)

Mr. C’s Grilled Cheese is definitely cheesy goodness. I have not heard about this truck until they came to our neighborhood open house. They had a good number of menu options, and I felt they were different than what you would see everywhere. Our grilled cheeses that we picked out were so good including the Fancy Caprese & the Full Monty. The Full Monty was my fave. I’d definitely be excited to see them again around town. If you see them, point them out, and check them out for sure.
