I decided to try out Raw Box Organics when fellow Unilocaler, Kelleigh M., messaged me that Living Social was running a deal. Raw Box Organics delivers organic produce directly from the farm to homes and businesses in the Tampa Bay area. You can receive weekly or biweekly shipments and you can customize the shipments to meet your likes and dietary needs. If you open an account on their website you can select produce that you do not want Raw Box to send you.(I hate mushrooms and eggplant so I made sure to select these items on my «do not send list».) Raw Box offers fruit, vegetable, or mixed boxes. They also offer a «juicing box» that contains fruits and vegetables that are good for juicing. All of the boxes come in three sizes: small, medium or large. A small box costs $ 35 and usually contains 10 – 13 items for 1 – 2 people. A medium sized box costs $ 45 and contains 14 – 17 items for 3 – 4 people. A large box is $ 55 and contains 18 – 22 items. I purchased the small vegetable box with my living social coupon. I had a bit of trouble using the website so I ended up calling Raw Box and placing my order over the phone. I was really pleased with my shipment. My small box did not seem small at all and contained a variety of tomatoes, sweet potatoes, yellow onion, parsley, carrots with tops, lettuce and kale. I haven’t been at home much the past few weeks so I have not had the chance to order again(yet). I have used a similar service in the past and loved it, but I took a break from the service because the weekly shipments can get overwhelming. While it was fun to try new vegetables and recipes my husband and I had to be careful about checking our orders online each week to make sure we weren’t receiving the same items each week.(You can only eat so many carrots!!!) Next time I place an order with Raw Box I plan on trying their«juicing box». I love to make freshly squeezed juice with my Vitamix Juicer and would enjoy receiving different varieties of produce to juice.

FINALLY, a business that makes eating healthy and juicing a lot easier. We bought a juicer about a year ago, but it has been a bit challenging to find a wide variety of organic produce on a regular basis. Abby’s is a bit far to go every week, and the grocery stores are often out of things that I want if they even have a decent sized organic section. We subscribe to an organic produce service in California as well, but I like that you can choose to omit the foods you do not like at Raw Box, unlike our Cali service where you get whatever they choose to give you whether you like it or not.
