Steak ‘n Shake

We ended up going there again recently, for dinner at 3am (long work night). Anyway, I have to say this experience was much better than my previous one. Everything was hot and everything was good. It was everything I would have expected from a fast food sit down establishment.

First and foremost the only reason I ever come to this restaurant is because my kids absolutely adore it. Typically they could care less about the food but they just love putting together the cardboard cars that come with the kids menu. they also love to play with the paper hats that come with the kids menu.
The only thing that is really worth mentioning about the food are the milkshakes. I’ve never been a big fan of their burgers their way to bed and barely have any substance. They’re salads have no flavor and I can’t even tell you about the chili mac spaghetti. You may come here may come here just for the milkshakes if you wish, but you will be thoroughly disappointed if you order anything else. The bathrooms are always disgusting, so make sure you go before you come to the restaurant or hold it.
I’m crazy and I will always come to this restaurant as long as my kids ask for it. And sometimes when one just does not feel like making dinner it doesn’t hurt to only pay $ 4 for your meal.

The food is alright but my waitress was slow and it was on a Tuesday so there was about 3 groups eating there, I thought it would take 10 mins max but it took about 30 mins. The bathroom was disgusting it was outdated the urinal was green and yellow it smelled like crap and it was all dirty even had lettuce on the paper towel dispenser.

This place isn’t exactly the cleanest or out of this world resto you’ll find but its definitely cheap for great meals. You also have to consider the quality of the food you’re getting over the price they’re offering. They have $ 3.99 meals (that’s a full two party or single party burger with fries or other kinds of sides) that’s actually good. It’s not great, like what you’d find in restaurants selling burger meals for 15 bucks. But it’s good quality for the price offered. Their shakes are also creamy and milky! Good and sweet but some flavors are too sweet for my taste. It’s a good place to sit down and have a cheap meal that could get you full!

This is the most incompetent Steak ‘n Shake crew ever. Especially on the weekends. They can’t get orders right.
I crave a burger once a month when I’m low in iron. I get the same burger from Steak N Shake during this time of month: a single with cheese, lettuce, tomato, pickle, mustard, add portobellos. I usually get my burger during the week via drive thru… because I really can’t get myself together during this particular day of the month. For some odd reason all the times I’ve come on the weekend my order was wrong one way or the other.
Today is a Sunday and I have accompanying cramps to go along with my low iron weakness, so I sent Mel to get my burger. I made sure to text him my order. He comes home instead with a burger with 2 parties, cheese, portobello mushrooms and my arch enemy of all foods, MAYONNAISE! I’m immediately pissed off, check the receipt, which stated all the correct condiments. Mel goes back to get the right order and I called and explain that he’d be coming in, so please have the right order ready for him because he’s missing Sunday football. The girl I spoke to even got her manager, Joe on the line and I explained and he said Mel should ask for him and he’ll give him a refund. I even explained how Mel looked and Joe said he’d look out for him. Mel gets there and my burger is already ready for him. He comes home, I open the burger and it’s a single with cheese with lettuce and tomato. No mustard, pickle or portobello.
So now I’m pissed. I’m in the need to take Tylenol and don’t want to do it on an empty stomach and I look like crap because I’d been lying in bed in pain. I call and ask for Joe and the lady on the phone asks if she can ask why and I immediately go off about how this is the 2^nd time they gave my husband the wrong burger and now I have to drive down myself sick and low in iron because my husband can’t miss any more football! The lady said she was the one who took my husband’s order and proceeds to ask me more questions about what was wrong with the burgers. Okay, so now I’m hangry and she’s in my path. I give her the right order and she asks what was wrong and I yelled «he paid for portobellos!» I also told her that Joe said he’d give my husband a refund and he didn’t. She proceeds to tell me I can come and pick up the correct burger or get a refund but now both. So, after driving round trip 3 times we get no refund or even a coupon?! Really?!
So I threw on a t shirt and shorts and drove angrily over to Steak and Shake and walked in with a frown and the bag of incorrect order. I locked eyes with the lady who I was in the phone with last and her eyes were so big looking at me. She said «ma’am are you the…» And I cut her off and said, «yes I’m here to pick up the third burger that you all messed up twice before.» A kid brings the bag from the back and opens the burger in front of me to make sure it was right and I said, «yes it’s finally right.» The lady handed me the bag and said, «we’re really sorry.» I snatched the bag and said thank you for finally getting it right.
I almost (and I really mean almost) feel bad that that lady got in the path of my wrath, but you can’t mess with a woman with cramps.
In the end the weekend crew at this Steak n Shake is incompetent. I don’t blame one person. I blame the entire crew. They need retraining or something.

The last time I dined here was around the date of September 26^th. I went in around 8:30pm and was greeted and seated within a few minutes of walking in the door. The restaurant was almost empty, but the drive through seemed to be busy. Our server was a sweet young girl with a bubbly personality. She took our order down and once she delivered our meal she barely came back to the table. We had to ask someone else for some drink refills. Our server finally returned and apologized for her slow service. Before asking for the check, I ordered four milkshakes to-​go. While waiting for our shakes to come out at the counter top and settling our bill, I watched one of the staff members prepare our shakes through the small window in the kitchen. He tried to grab all four shakes at once and two of the shakes fell. What a surprise… He then tried to scoop up the contents of the spilt milkshake and PUT THEM BACK IN TO THE CUP TO GIVE TO ME!!! Our server made eye contact with me and then mouthed something to him as I’m watching this entire situation happen. Immediately I asked for a manager and asked for my shake to be remade by someone else. The manager seemed oh so irritated with me and only offered me two coupons for the inconvenience. Needless to say those two coupons went straight in to the trash and so did any thought of ever returning to this Steak N Shake again.

If I could give 0 stars I would. This is the slowest steak and shake. We went in for a small takeout order and after waiting 30 minutes they gave us the wrong order. An employee stopped us as we were pulling out of the parking lot to exchange. Will not be going back!

Destiny is the worst waitress ever. I asked for a sweet tea and it was watered down, not sweet, and just didn’t taste good. So I asked her to brew a new one. She just stared at me and said «I just made one.» So I asked for a water instead. She storms away and says «No, l’ll go make a new one even though I just made one». We don’t see her for a few minutes, and the manager brings out food out. He was very nice and professional, so I asked him for a water. He brings it too me, and a few minutes go by, we still don’t see our waitress. She finally comes back over and slams the tea in front of me and says, «here you go.» And just walks away. Then comes back not even a minute later and says, «what did you not like that one either?» So I said, «No, I just wanted a water.» And she replies with «Oh, I see.» And storms off again. Seriously, it wouldn’t kill you to be polite. It was such a hostile environment, I didn’t even want to eat my food. I felt like I was being judged the entire time. Worst service ever. I work in a restaurant, so I hate complaining. But, the passive aggressive comments almost made me. Won’t be coming back to this Steak ‘n Shake ever.

The restaurant was slow with a few customers!.. My server was Destiny, and she did a good job providing Customer Service. My breakfast was prepared in good time and above my expectations… by John. This is a good spot if your in the Citrus Park area… I have a Notary job in this area so all has started off good for me today… Thanks Steak n Shake for hiring good attentive staff members… Herb’s Mobile Notary Svcs.

Service always sucks. They always mess up my order. Why come back? My friends out vote me. Doesn’t help the same server tells about her personal problems when no one asks

I used to use this Steak N Shake as THE late-​night destination for many, many years. And it was probably a 4-​Star experience by Fast Food standards. However, I feel the need to rip this particular location based on our last several visits.
Perhaps they are under new management, but this location has slipped dramatically in the last year. The service is terrible and the once rock solid food has gone WAY downhill. They have now screwed up my order 4 of the last 6 times I have gone and it’s not like my normal order is all that complicated… A Wisconsin Buttery Burger with NO ONIONS… not exactly rocket science, but apparently the new chef here REALLY like Onions because he insists on giving them to me.
They do a decent late-​night business and used to get you in and out in reasonable time, but no longer. Now it can take 15 – 20 minutes just for someone to take your order and then they screw it up anyway… and when they fix it, it’s just not the same level of quality that it used to be and IS at other locations.
If you own this Franchise… FIX IT… or you’re not long for this world at this location.

The food good, but service horrendous! I think they either need more personal or be better organized! I hate to be a complainer. But when they take more than 20 mins to make sure that your meal came out ok and you ask for a shake… In a shake place and it takes more than 30 mins to make a small shake. This is not acceptable!

This location, is sometimes packed. And the service is good. Any place that stays packed must be good. They are open 24 hours. They work to get your table cleaned fast, they will get you anything you want.
This has been my experience with this location. I love how friendly the staff is.

So the thing I love most is that their breakfast menu is from 12 am until 11am… I am here right now and they claim they don’t have breakfast available (at 3:50am) and btw it’s halloween…
So I’m giving them 1 star since I was looking forward to having breakfast and other than that every time I come to this location I have to wait at least 20 mins to get my food even when there are no other customers. This place is such a nuisance, and for the 20 mins of waiting in line, the food is never fresh. So don’t waste your time. Only plus about this location is that the manager is very nice and accommodating.

Super slow service. Didn’t get greeted for about 10 minutes. However, cheap but decent breakfast.

Near Citrus Park Mall, it’s on the way home from Howl-​O-​Scream so I stop on occasion. They are slower than most fast food places, but that’s because they’re getting the food made to order.
The only thing that usually disapppoints me is that they almost always give me cool fries. I HATE cold fries. YUCK@

This Steak N Shake is the worst one I’ve ever experienced. Unbelievable wait time for both dine in and take out. The place has been dirty and the employees look disheveled every time I’ve been there. The cooks are sloppy and don’t give a rat’s ass about quality or cleanliness. Avoid this location! Saying that I will say I have been to other S n S and have enjoyed the experience, just not here.

Steak N Shake is a national franchise serving burgers, chicken sandwiches, and hand-​made milkshakes 24 hours a day. This particular SNS is located at the corner of Sheldon Road and Citrus Park Drive, just west of the Citrus Park Mall.
The SNS burger is a step-​up from your typical fast-​food burger, and you can have it prepared with a wide variety of toppings — single burger pattie, doubles, and triples. You can get your burger with fries, or substitute out for a small salad, bowl of soup, bowl of chili, onion rings, coleslaw, baked beans, fruit, cottage cheese, and so on.
In addition to burgers, they also have pattie melts (believe it or not, they even offer a vegetarian melt!), hot dogs, assorted chicken and fish sandwiches, grilled cheese sammies, chicken fingers, and some surprisingly healthy entrée-​sized salads.
Recently SNS has been serving breakfast from 12 Midnight all the way around till 11am. The breakfast menu includes skillet breakfasts, breakfast sandwiches, All You Can Inhale pancakes, classic egg breakfasts, sausage and gravy, and my new favorite — Breakfast Tacos made with your choice of Sausage, Egg ‘n Cheese; Bean ‘n Cheese; or Potato ‘n Egg — 99 cents a piece.
Let’s not forget those incredible Steak N Shake milkshakes which are all hand-​dipped ice cream plus real milk and fresh fruit toppings. They have close to 20 different types of milkshakes on the menu, but I’m sorry to inform you that this location is now sold out of the salted caramel pretzel milkshake… however I will start the bidding for one of these milkshakes at $ 5… Oh, and during the summer months you won’t be able to buy peach milkshakes from these people either. Same deal applies if you want one. :-)
Steak N Shake has counter-​service, tables and booths, as well as the ever-​popular drive-​up window for those late-​night muchie attacks.

Ok, so I have been here where it took forever to get my food, and once it came out suspiciously fast. Once I was able to talk a guy into putting a fried egg on my chili mac, once I was not. In any case it’s open 24 and it’s great for junk food. I’m crushed they ditched the Berry Berry Ala Mode from the menu. The real reason to go to this particular location is that there’s this one server who possesses the most impressive man mustache I have ever witnessed in real life. I shall return!

Fast food. Not much else to say. I ldo ove me some late night SNS, but it’s not the best fast food and this location is on par with the other locations. Seriously though, when the hell are they going to get some real and substantial fries!!!
The service here has always been speedy and hospitable, and the food has always come out as ordered. Therefore, it’s A-​OK!
Tip: Don’t try to get those all-​you-​can-​eat pancakes unless it’s 6−11am though. You’ll be denied. Ridiculous.
