Four stars primarily for food and service. Knocked off a star due to material condition of the joint along with extremely limited parking. We got there well before the crowd, and it is very apparent that this is more of a late evening drinking place vice a dinner place. that being said, the bartender /waiter and possibly chef did a great job. very personable, very quick with the meal. I got the special(chicken on flat bread) which was very good. parking was challenging. in summary, I’d recommend trying it out, if you have the opportunity.

Good food, live music, outdoor seating, friendly and attentive staff. Wish they had liquor.

We used to visit the Dubliner on Henderson in Citrus Park quite frequently, and have really missed their Irish menu since that location closed. We don’t get to South Tampa/SoHo often, so when we ended up in the area late Friday afternoon, we knew where we wanted to stop for drinks & dinner. First, the inside is very small! But it has an old, historic vibe that I love. The bathroom walls were heavily covered in graffiti(which I thought reminiscent of NYC punk bars like CBGB), however, the actual restroom facilities were spotless. As it wasn’t dark yet, we decided to sit outside on the patio, and enjoy the pleasant weather. With only a few patrons sitting at the patio bar, and no one at any tables, we weren’t sure of the ordering protocol. After nearly 10 minutes of wondering if we needed to order at the bar, a cheery server came over to help us. I’d forgotten the Dubliner only serves beer & wine — no liquor. But our waitress, Jamie, was incredibly helpful in suggesting something on tap that I would enjoy. And I loved my Angry Orchard draft ale(or was it cider?)! Choosing what to eat was more difficult! Although the Dubliner has a small & limited menu, we just couldn’t decide… So we agreed to split a couple of dishes. I ordered the Shepard’s Pie, and was NOT disappointed! Perfect balance of meat, vegetables, mashed potatoes & cheese. Hubs ordered the Irish Nachos, and we loved the use of waffle fries instead of tortilla chips. We also split a bowl of Bacon & Potato Soup with toast… I could’ve made a meal of that deliciousness! Sooo good. We’ll definitely be back for more of the Dubliner! I have no idea if this is a true representation of an Irish bar, but I thoroughly enjoyed the atmosphere. And we can’t wait to try the fish & chips on a return visit… We saw a couple of plates delivered to a neighboring table before we left, and were stunned at the mountain of fried fish! I’d also like to sit at the big, old bar inside, and experience that ambiance.

I always have a great time here! Very casual atmosphere. I love the deck and the indoor seating. The only thing is that i don’t understand why they only serve beer. I understand that mostly everyone likes beer, but I don’t. They made me some sort of sangria the last time I went which was pretty good, but I just feel like having a full bar would really improve this business so much! Still giving them 4 stars cause they’re obviously doing something right since it’s always packed!

Not a big fan… this is located down the street from my apartment so my boyfriend and I decided to check it out one night. I felt like I was in a frat house the morning after they had a big party, there was spilt beer everywhere, no reasonable seating, and everyone looked like they were barely legal… obviously the college kids love it, it’s always packed… and I’m not some old fart hating for now reason, I’m 24… I just didn’t enjoy it at all. We left after one drink and moved next door. If you’re a frat boy it’s definitely the place for you, if not… I’d look elsewhere for your good time… Side note: the 3 stars is because the service was good, the establishment was nice enough for a pub type bar, I just didn’t like the atmosphere.

Pros: Recently voted Creative Loafing Readers’ Favorite Bar for the 4th year in a row, it is no mystery why! The Dubliner Irish Pub features some great Live Bands playing every Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday nights 9PM til close, ensuring a fun lively atmosphere and a great crowd. With 44 craft brews on tap, you can get even some of the most obscure brews like the Banana Bread Brew. Despite Dubliner’s Irish heritage, they are more well known for their pizzas than Irish fare. They have some off the wall pizzas like the Nacho Pizza with Waffle fries. Wednesday’s, Dubliner has a Liter night with $ 632oz drafts 8PM-close. Thursday’s, the Dubliner features Live Reggae Music, $ 2 Red Stripes, $ 5 Chicken Margarita Flatbread pizzas, and $ 8 Bacon Cheeseburger Sliders. Friday’s, they have $ 12 Miller Light and Bud Light Buckets. For Saturday’s and Sunday’s during all football games, Dubliner has 50 cent Wings, $ 3 Miller Light, Coors Light, and Yeungling drafts, $ 4 Blue Moons, and $ 12 Miller Light buckets. Located in South Tampa off Azeele St near the Howard Soho strip between Greenwise Publix and Cheap, just north of Taco Bus and Macdintons. Weekdays are pretty quiet here which some people prefer. Weekends can get pretty packed. Service can be slow sometimes when it gets busy on the weekends but that’s understandable. Dubliner has 1 inside bar and 1 outside bar and both can get pretty busy on most weekend nights. Some say that the Dubliner offers a break from the regular Soho crowd in lieu of the craft Brewskie aficionado crowd. It definitely weeds out the liquor-only fans, that’s for sure lol. Cons: No Liquor, only beer and wine. They offer sake and cider«shots» but sake is just wine. The inside bar is often cramped on weekend nights and the 2 stall bathrooms are way too small for the size of this place, so expect a line. There is no valet or onsite parking available. You can valet in the Macdintons lot or park 2 blocks away west of Armenia and Horatio.

The Dubliner forced my friend to do a field sobriety test for no reason other than he was gay and had an out of state license. The bouncers then proceeded to SHOVE my boyfriend down the stairs for simply asking why this was occurring. I have never felt so scared at a bar due to the behavior of the bouncers. We’re contemplating hiring an attorney.

I used to love Dubliner at night, but now it’s just a daytime place for me. It’s a chill place for a Sunday Funday. Beer and wine only with decent bar food.

LOVE the Dub punch. Awesome live music and not nearly as «fratty» as the other SoHo bars. Always a good time.

Best place to grab a laid back drink in SoHo. Pizza is awesome. The owner is welcoming and hilarious. Jamie is one of the best bartenders I’ve ever encountered. Ask her for a second opinion on your next date, friend, business partner. She has a gift! Seriously. Great service, good drinks and good music on the weekends. Nice retreat from the craziness at Mcdintons, etc.

Solid feel Good events /singers Pizza rocks. they really understand hosting a low key good time. On my 4 or so visits I met the owner and 2 other bartenders. It’s well cast and(at least when not slammed on college time) has perfect level of attentiveness and reads customer queues well.

This place has a great selection of beers, an awesome vibe and great service. They have food although I honestly wouldn’t go there for dinner, maybe just a snack. It had a great outdoor seating area. The best part about this place is that is an old house… not a super common thing in Tampa. I normally stick to the Dubliner for happy hour or Sunday afternoons… Friday and Saturday nights tend to be a little college-y.

I love going to the Dubliner on weeknights. It’s nice and peaceful. I love the nacho pizza. It has waffle fries! On weeknights it is a nice quiet place to watch sports inside or outside. If you go on a weekend be prepared for a packed bar and not a place to stop in and eat. There is no bike racks, but I lock up to the tree, or the Publix bike rack a block away. There is always live music on the weekend and it is more of a club atmosphere. Warning: The bathrooms are very typical bar bathroom status, not great. There are only two women’s bathrooms too so on a crowded night beware you will be waiting.

It was a cold night after a Gators vs Noles game. Afterwards, we gathered at the Dubliner for some post game drinking. My friends all ordered a Seadog blueberry beer, which they highly recommend. I am not a big beer drinker. I prefer wine. The patio bartender, John with a wicked beard, was very accommodating to my request and added blueberries into my Pinot Grigio. If you’re ever in south Tampa, come to the Dubliner for the blueberry Pinot Grigio!

I like the Dunliner. It has nothing to do with it being Irish, it has to do with the simplicity & exquisite ousted areas. Inside you have a simple diner type atmospher. Good for taking while eating and catching up with your friends. I love the nice Simplicity of the interior. The outside patio area rivals 4&5 star establishments, that are touting their outside ambiance. This establishment does not brag & it should. The staff is friendly, attentive and helpgul. I recently left a nice jacket there and just knew I would never see it again, even though I called as soon as I got home and they said they had it and contrary to my misgivings, it was waiting to be picked up the next evening & they even had to identify themselves to insure that the jacket went to the right person. Now that is a 5+ in caring about your customers. It was a girls in out and I don’t think a wine glass got empty for more than 2 minutes A variety of entrées and appet8 were ordered and I heard no complaints and saw clean plates. The fish & chips was a favorite as was the hamburger. The burger was cooked spot on & had all the right accompaniments. The flavor of the beef was very good and the burger was nice and juicy. All in all, we had a great time and would all recommend the Dubliner for any occasion, where you want to relax and just be yourself. It was almost like a girls night in, with no cooking or dishes. This is a great grm, that I am delighted to ha e found. I shall return. What’s a girl to do? When a place feels like home… relax & get comfortable.

It’s been a while, but recent reviews confirm our earlier experience. Biggest negative is shared with most SOHO spots… minimal parking. The bar itself is unpretentious and less raucous than McDinton’s. This place had Guiness, Bass and other good import beers before they became common. No spirits and food offerings are limited. But still nice to sit outside in cooler weather sipping some dark in comfort.

Dubliner is a nice place to go to if you want to escape the insanity that is Soho on the weekends. It can get pretty busy, but every time I’ve gone(even on the weekends) it’s been relatively low-key — the reason why I go there. Dubliner is sort of hidden away in what looks like a house, but is actually a pub. It looks pretty neat on the inside and yes, they often have live music there as well. Service is usually pretty good. This place is definitely a good one for the atmosphere. Haven’t tried any of the food there, but I intend to do so in the future.

Love Dubliner. Have been here at various times, from an early Saturday afternoon when my group was the only one being serenaded by the guitar player, to a jam-packed St Patty’s day celebration when the rest of the STDs(South Tampa d-bags) make their way into this lovely, generally untapped gem. I prefer it on weeknight evenings, when it’s crowded and there is live music but it’s not super sloppy. The open-air balcony and large tree coverage paired with good lighting and some Angry Orchard can make it easy to forget that you are right around the corner from MacDinton’s! #perk. I wish I had tried the food, because I’ve seen it go by often enough to know that some of it looks pretty tasty. Actually, my dog has managed to guilt people into giving her french fries here plenty of times, and she’s a fan. So I can assume that they are as yummy as they look. Also, saw a pizza go by on Friday night that looked *really* good. All in all, when it doubt, hit the Dub. It rarely disappoints.
