Awesome Place to grab some ice cream/gelato/sorbet and walk around the water! They have ever changing flavors every time you go in and its always fresh. They make it right in store with hudson valley milk! If you don’t feel like walking around they have chairs and umbrellas outside to sit near the fountain! Love this place!

This place is a great place to go grab ice cream and walk around the scenic hudson river and tz bridge. They have a very little selection for frozen yogurt for us lactose intolerant ppl. They also have coffee and hot drinks for cold days. They dont have a bathroom inside the store itself, but you can use the bathroom across the parking lot in this yoga studio. Overall, good place to grab icecream and walk around the hudson river and take pics. Bad for lactose intolerant ppl. Theres also a park for the little ones

Itty-bitty-teeny-tiny little space, but nice people, good products, and not horribly priced. Yes, the iced coffee is nice and strong, however they use regular ice in it – so it waters down a bit quickly. I prefer places who’s ice cubes are made by freezing coffee. The ice cream was also taste sweet comma fresh, and a single scoop on a waffle cone plus my large iced coffee came to $ 6.50. Not a place all go quite every day, at least not until I get another promotion, but good nonetheless. I’m a fan!

Came here to grab a cappuccino and get in out of the cold with a group and was so pleasantly surprised! My coffee was fantastic and service was quick(as it should be in a place like this). Will definitely come back for coffee and check out the ice cream selection once it’s warmer.

We find this is the best place for quality food and coffee near the #tarrytown train station. Albeit there isn’t much around but the coffee is good, reasonably priced and they have gelato. Our only real complaint is as of this review the sheer number of do and don’t signs all over the place. Seriously there are 6 instructional signs on how to open and close the door. We will check back during our commutes to see if this changes but you feel like you at your grandmothers and they have plastic covers on the sofas.

The best ice cream hands down. Caught guilty for coming 2 – 3 times a week to this place for their amazing Coconut flavor(oops, it’s just so good!). Their homemade waffle cones are amazing. If I am introducing one of my friends to the area, I always bring them here to satisfy their sweet tooth.

For $ 13.75 we received two of the smallest scoops of ice cream I’ve ever seen. So small one of the scoops was able to fit and be held on a plastic spoon. We were also told a root beer float could be made. Which I guess they have the materials but gave one small scoop of ice cream with a large serving of root beer syrup and very little seltzer. But it was very hot and it was the only cold snack option remotely close to Riverwalk that there is just no other choice. The ice cream tastes no different than any other ice cream you buy at a store. On top of the way overpriced underwhelming ice cream the staff was immature and irresponsible. It’s not ok to charge so much and see they employee three people who seemed to refuse to put their phones down and work. Even with a line of sweaty customers two workers just played with their phones while the other asked for help. When you ask about how the ice cream is «made in house» they can’t tell you. I’m not sure how this won Best of Westchester. They make one flavor that seems semi-unique and the rest is generic flavors. I hope other options open up or the ice cream truck starts coming around more because this was disappointing and a waste.

The coffee is actually pretty good, but the staff is so poorly trained that it’s unbearable. My wife asked for an ice cappuccino, and you would have thought she asked for a triple by-pass! The poor kid almost had a stroke! The ice cream portions are so small it is ridicules, not to mention over priced! Hey, this is a park and with a few apartments around it. It’s not Disney Land! There is no reason to put up with service or prices like this. We can get coffee anywhere. What a waste, cause this could easily be a gem!

Love their Ice Cream and appreciate the concept natural and fresh. The Ice Cream is the creamiest I have ever experienced. Staff is young motivated and willing to please. Marco my server couldn’t have been nicer. If u want great tasting ice cream or cold frozen desserts run don’t walk to the Lighthouse. The products and staff will both make u happy.

Delicious homemade ice cream!!! I had the cookies and cream and it was amazing The staff is very friendly and the location is great. There are a few tables where you can sit and enjoy your ice cream or you can take a walk and enjoy the beautiful river walk park! I’ll definitely be back soon!

This place will be way cooler when the million dollar condo complex it sits in isn’t a ghost town. Knowing New York, anything quaint and quiet shall soon be overrun by an influx of humanity– so you can probably go ahead and hold your breath. The hours are always off and there were flies in the muffin case(Still had the blueberry-meh.), but the place itself is cozy and welcoming with a nice seating area and fireplace inside/terrace seating outside for the warmer months. I found the girls working there to be very nice. Typical young college-types beholden to their phones, but nice. And the iced coffee was above average… so there’s something. So what are you waiting for, rich New Yorkers? Pack em’ in ad infinitum! You’d better try Lighthouse Ice Cream and Coffee before the line stretches out the door and the prices go up tenfold. Or just keep moving farther north until you find another quaint coffee shop in a town you haven’t been priced out of.

Would love to have tried their ice cream and coffee, however we went there and there was nobody to be found. Lights on, doors open, 2 customers sitting at a table, no workers. Waited for 5 minutes, then 5 more, then said forget it and left. Tip — if you’re going to the bathroom or out to smoke, and you’re the only worker, put up a sign.

My husband and I really enjoyed the gelato here. This is a very small place with gourmet gelato flavors. Service was excellent. The outside seating was limited but fine when we went. They do have a bathroom that they share with the yoga studio(it’s a bit of a walk). Prices were what you expect for gourmet gelato. Try the Vietnamese coffee gelato, tasted just like the real thing!!!

This is a charming little place, very cozy indoors. I had a mocha here and it was very delicious, however, it didn’t quite taste like coffee. Although it is a mocha, I still expect to get some hint of espresso coming through but it just tasted like really rich hot chocolate… I wasn’t in a fussy mood so I just drank it. The hours were disappointing, they closed sooner than I expected, someone should really get in touch with Unilocal to change the hours to the correct times, clearly I wasn’t the only one who’s had trouble. The staff wasn’t very pleasant and the parking was a pain, don’t think I’ll be back. Unilocalers beware… call ahead of time to check their hours.

Unilocal says they open at 6:00am but at 6:30am I tried to get a coffee before getting on the train. The woman inside was baking /getting ready for the day. I tried banging on the door to get her attention but she ignored me.

Best ice cream, gelato, & sorbet ever!!! Yes, it’s true! Our oldest daughter loves Oreo flavor. I absolutely love the raspberry sorbet. My husband gets the coolest flavors like Mascarpone(which is really good when combined with raspberry sorbet). The flavors aren’t overwhelming, just right. Staff are super nice. I must mention, we drive 30 min just for this ice cream!

Finally I can say we have actually had a gelato in Westchester. The tables outside were very relaxing and the gelato was creamy and rich in flavor… No comparison at all with American ice cream parlour chains. Thumbs up for Lighthouse ice cream and coffee

Adorable shop down at the bottom of the hill in Tarrytown. A beautiful area, right on the water. The gelato was ok and the service was nice and friendly. Not sure if its worth the trek, but may be nice to try this place again once it starts getting warmer.

First impression: Damn, it’s tiny. Second thought: I should have used the bathroom before I got here.(I later found out that they share a bathroom with the yoga studio in the building on the other side of the parking lot — still quite a trek.) I wanted to give this place a try since it is close to campus and seemed like it would be a great studying spot, but besides the waterfront view, there isn’t much else I like about this place. The employees are friendly, but they seem really young(read: immature) and a little too ‘lax on the job. The first night I was there, they were laughing, joking, and talking really loudly about going out after work and getting drunk… not really a topic that should be discussed within earshot of customers, even if it was a Friday night. I’ve had their iced chai latte and their regular house coffee. The chai latte was way, way too sweet. Fortunately, I had a bottle of water with me at the time, so I ended up heavily diluting the drink. Their house roast is nothing spectacular, but it works to warm your body up and give you an excuse to sit in the café and study. I haven’t tried the ice cream or gelato yet, but maybe that will blow my mind and I will update this review with 5 magnificant stars. This is one of the only cafes to study at around campus where I don’t have to pay for street parking or move my car every two hours, so I’m really crossing my fingers that it will redeem itself.

My negative review is based solely on the fact that this place really only serves gelato and not ice cream. I believe they had two types of ice cream when I was there and the rest was gelato(which is a type of ice cream of course, but is different from what most people consider«ice cream»). I am not a huge gelato fan so I found their name confusing. Might be good Gelato but I headed up to Main Street Sweets for more traditional homemade ice cream.
