Ice cream is delicious and home made. Servers are always so nice and helpful and seem to always be working hard. Definitely the best ice cream spot in the area to bring anyone of any age.

Cute little spot in Tarrytown, but I was underwhelmed by the product. I got the cookie dough ice cream and it was okay, not great. I like my ice cream to have an emphasis on the cream, not the ice. I’ll probably give it another go, maybe it just wasn’t the best batch.

I believe their posted hours(11 – 9) must be wrong or they close up early, they were closed at 8:20 tonight. Maybe call ahead to see if they’re open!

I love Sleepy Hollow and this was a cute little ice cream shop. I tried the Cookie Monster ice cream, just the perfect sweet treat to have before my friend and I headed back to Long Island.

Awesome selection of ice cream. Fresh made waffle cups and just a staple dessert place in Tarrytown.

After hearing friends rave about this store, I was happily greeted by the employee as soon as we walked in. There were a lot of flavors, new and classic. The employee was really nice and let me taste a couple of flavors. She was understanding and very friendly! I ended up trying the bright blue one(I forget the flavor). Despite the bright blue, it was creamy and sweet. Definitely worth a try!(A little too sweet if you like tart sorbets like me.) I can’t wait to go back to try other flavors!

Grabbed street parking right outside. It was a hot day after a hike so we really wanted something light, sweet, and creamy. The store had a cute appearance. The girls serving us were attentive and nice. Had s’mores ice cream in a cup which was mostly vanilla tasting and not much else. Hubs had chocolate peanut butter which was crumbly and appeared to be mostly peanut butter rather than ice cream. We also ordered an iced coffee for a boost and while I know it’s not a coffee place, the coffee was definitely overbrewed and sour. Disappointed but it was just a one time stop.

One scoop coconut, one scoop Samoa ice cream had me feeling some type a way.

I’ve generated a thing for coffee ice cream when I tried it for the first time here — I remember liking that the coffee flavored ice cream included chocolate chip and other good toppings! I definitely want to go visit again when I’m in Tarrytown.

I really like Main Street Sweets: tasty flavors generally, and friendly service. I’ve been patronizing the place for over 10 years. Yesterday was my first time back this season. My Nutella ice cream cone was tasty, but the portion was noticeably smaller than in previous years. Also, the server did not push it down into the cone to «anchor» it, so it almost popped off as I was eating it. And believe me, I would’ve cried like a little kid if that had happened. As a former ice cream shop worker, I can say that it’s a must to get that ice cream properly secured to the cone, to keep kids and adults from bursting into tears.

Great place. Cozy and friendly. Ice cream was amazing, have been back a few times. Plenty of space to sit either inside or out. The placement of the shop is great.

Homemade/store-made ice cream is always better. I compare this place to two places that I love(moo moo creamery(cold spring) and sundaes and cones(Manhattan)) and it is pretty good, I enjoyed the Cookie Jar and Nutella scoops. It tasted fresh and the staff was really friendly. Will be coming here for sure

Yummmmm! Coffee ice cream was really creamy and actually tasted like coffee. The best part about this place is the location– on Main street in Tarrytown. This is most definitely like one of those cute little town ice cream locations. Stop by after eating at a number of the delicious eateries around here. Yummilicious Factor = A–

Some things are just inherently good. Like ice cream… or a puppy. Nobody ever really walks away from a puppy thinking«Man, that puppy sucks.» If you do you’re probably some kind of monster. So if you don’t enjoy a few scoops of quality ice cream in a fat, chocolate-dipped waffle cone at a charming local ice cream shop in a quaint little town on the Hudson, you should glance over at the mirror. Do you have a Hitler moustache? Is there a frightened man tied up in the trunk of your car(though you probably drive a nondescript ‘Who’s the Boss’ van)? Did you recently tell your wife she looked a little chunky? Because you are probably a monster. I had peppermint stick. Three scoops. Do the right thing– it’s not to late to turn your life around, you puppy-hating bastard.

There is nothing better than treating yourself to a sweet post-meal treat. I know that I always have room for dessert(even after a gut-busting meal). :9 Their flavor selection is quite limited, but after tasting a few flavors, we finally decided on the cherry vanilla and the espresso bean almond biscotti. Both were great! I particularly liked the crispy bitterness of the chocolate covered espresso beans that could be found throughout our scoop. It went well with the sweeter chunks of biscotti sprinkled throughout the scoop. I’ve just discovered my new favorite ice cream flavor. :9 The cherry vanilla is pretty much their version of the generic cherry jubilee ice cream. I like the mom and pop feel of the ice cream shop, but I wish they offered more indoor seating than the few chairs lining the wall in front of the ice cream display. If you are in the area for lunch or dinner, stop by for a treat! You won’t be disappointed.

I thought the ice cream was pretty good. Sweet and creamy… maybe lacking a little flavor in my ‘cupcake’ flavored ice cream. However what bothered me was this place was out of EVERYTHING! I mean we wanted coffee… they did not have it… we wanted apple cider… they did not have it. we want other food and sweets… they did not have it… BATHROOMS were off limits as well… idk but that bothers me. Why even have the stuff on the menu if you can not deliver? Good thing I did not try the cupcakes because they looked bad.

«When in Rome, do as the Romans». This saying is pretty much transferrable anywhere you go in the world. Even in a small, little quaint place, like Tarrytown. And all the locals here swear by Main Street Sweets. After reading some helpful reviews, especially Phil H.‘s glowing remarks on this place, I knew we had to squeeze this into our itinerary during our Westchester getaway weekend not too long ago. Though I admit, the décor wasn’t as charming as I was anticipating, other than the pretty Tarrytown mural on the wall, which is absolutely lovely, I was sort of expecting some type of continuous motif. I must’ve been high off my visit to the very gorgeous and shi-shi Laudree in Manhattan, but I digress. The friendly smiles of the servers and the tons of different homemade ice cream flavors made me soon forget about décor. We tried the small sample cup where we each had a go at 5 different flavors per cup. That option is absurdly awesome and unheard of, so we took some time to really choose wisely and capitalize on such a rare privilege. I especially loved the mint chocolate chip, pistachio, and I think I had the cake batter, too. I appreciated the fact that their ice cream is all-natural and the creamy texture was a clear indicator that it was fresh, and tasty. Not only did we get 5 flavors each, but the price did not burn a hole into our wallets. Speaking of wallet… In my sugar-induced, ice cream haze, I totally walked out of the store with my ice cream in hand, and my bf on the hip, but not my wallet. Mind you, it wasn’t like I put down a $ 10 for $ 7 worth of ice cream, and left my $ 3 worth of change on the countertop. Because, if that were the case, I would have been a lot less freaked out than what actually went down. See what actually happened was that I left the entire shebang at the store, my whole wallet and all its contents!!! At least 20 minutes passed before I even noticed! Can you believe that? Being a New Yorker, I assumed the worst. I thought, «oh well, there goes my money and all the stuff I had in my wallet» — but thankfully, when we went back to the store, the same, sweet and friendly shopgirl who helped me with my ice cream selection, flashed a smile at me and handed me my wallet. The tension and fear in my body immediately disintegrated that very moment. So, not only is Main Street Sweet’s ice creams heavenly, but their shop girls are angelic, too! You’ve earned that 5th star!

The smell of freshly made waffles and sweetness in the air is intoxicating as you walk in the front door. You get in line and anxiously wait your turn to view the multitude of inventive flavors. Diet? What diet you think. I ain’t on no diet today! There are so many great flavors to choose from! I counted over thirty, and all are homemade with natural ingredients. You almost try to convince yourself that you are eating healthy! I could tell this is a well liked local place by the lines I constantly saw here over the weekend. Yes, I have to admit that I ended up on that line twice. Bad bad bad boy! I love that they offer a sampler cup which is an ingenious way to try out five different flavors of mini scoops. It’s like a pu-pu platter of sugary goodness! Cheap too at only $ 3.25 and totally worth it as this cup offers just enough to satisfy the ice cream cravings. Oh, who am I kidding, as I could have eaten three of these at a sitting! Still, it was crazy good. Toasted coconut, cookie monster, fairy dust, rum raisin, I Do cake batter, mint chocolate chip, Oreo bomb, rasberry chocolate truffle, and pure pistachio were some of the awesome flavors that landed in my cup over the weekend. Their ice cream is just so creamy and flavorful. Plenty of eats and great service. They happily hand out samples when asked. The place is clean and fun looking like an old timey main street ice cream shop. There are old school retro signs all over the walls, and a giant mural along the main wall depicting the Sleepy Hollow and Tarrytown landscapes and historic points. Also, it’s cash only here. Hey, nothing an extra half hour on the treadmill won’t cure, and totally worth the extra delicious fatty calories!
