Gotham Burger

Disaster. Place wasn’t busy at all. Waited 40 mins, yes 40 minutes for a turkey burger that wasn’t cooked and a chicken salad. The «manager» who came to our table to address the situation was useless and effectively told us he was short staffed. My favorite «what do you want me to do about it?»
Finally the real manager came over, we got our money back and left. Done. Don’t know why outside of ETC it’s so hard to get decent service in restaurants in that section of town. We won’t be going back.

Unfortunately my husband bought a Groupon for this place without reading the reviews. ALL OF THE NEGATIVE REVIEWS WERE RIGHT, STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE! Apparently, there are certain groups of people that are not welcome here. I’ve never dealt with that before but it seems that if you’re a woman and you’re not wearing a long skirt and a wig you’re not welcome. The guy at the register was so insanely rude, it was actually shocking considering that this is a place of business and you would think that he wants to make money. It was so uncalled for. I said hello, he said nothing, he instead looked at me with disdain told me to order my food and take a seat. No smile, no other explanation, nothing. But there was a huge gathering of people sitting right smack in the middle of this small place and they were literally blocking access to the booths behind them. The worst part is that this place IS FILTHY. I have no idea why anybody would want to eat here in the first place. The nearby locals probably love this Kosher place but anybody from another neighborhood you can forget it. DON’T BOTHER, IT’LL BE A HUGE WASTE OF YOUR TIME.

the place is not clean. its so not clean that the floor its self is very sticky near the cashier. the burger its self doesn’t tasty and not looks good. this is my last time that i am coming to this place to eat.
it will be good if the workers will clean the floor and will wash it couple times a day.

Excellent for a kosher place. I’m missing my cheese though. Every time I go they are out of the parve cheese. Burgers are big! Sweet potato fries are awesome and huge portion. Do not like the custom sauce that comes with the burgers. My friend’s chicken sandwich was great too.

I rarely leave reviews, especially a negative review. I run a business myself, otherwise I probably would’ve probably only given one star.
Me and the lady went in because it looked super interesting! Visually, the place looks like it would deliver.
We ordered food to go: burger tasted like NOTHING. Bun was fairly good. Salad was bitter. Fries tasted pretty good but very greasy. They didn’t give us utensils or napkins. When my gf went back to pick some up his response was «the napkins were on the table» the one we weren’t sitting at, because our food was to go. They never gave me my seltzer water. We paid 40bucks for crappiest experience. Shame because this place has so much potential. Few little tweaks would change this place completely.

I am praying that I don’t get food poisoning. Just ate half a turkey burger from Gotham which tasted aweful. Before I took another bite, I looked at the burger and the middle was Raw. So scared that I will become ill. Praying that I don’t. Given the other reviews, and the fact that I may have just gotten food poisoning from their food, I will never, ever eat at Gotham burger again and am posting this to hopefully save others from this frightening experience. Can’t figure out how to post a picture, so I used my name photo to show you.

I’ve been here a handful of times and each time I come, I’m hoping that it’s going to be a better visit. I feel like I owe it to myself and the kosher world to give them another shot. But each time I leave, I’m annoyed. They get the orders wrong, the food comes out overcooked and dry or underdone, cold and ridiculously greasy. While I was there, the staff was arguing with customers over their orders. I really want to like this place. I really want a good burger option in Teaneck, but this isn’t it.

Twice as expensive, but only half as good, as Five Guys. The line cook was a – he was not a nice guy. Fries greasy and limp. Burger was pre-​cooked and tasteless. The bun was awesome. Yes, the bun. Best part of the meal. Move along, folks; there’s nothing to see, here.

Based on Unilocal reviews, I decided to give this place a shot. Worst decision ever! I felt like I was Robert Irvine in a episode of Restaurant Impossible. First off we parked in the back. I should have left after seeing all the dirtily strewn potato boxes and garbage thrown about rather than in the dumpster.
We came in through the front, stood there for like a minute and then sat ourselves. No service, no front of house. I went up to counter and was told to order here and someone would bring out our food.
We ordered burgers, fries, fried chicken and wings. The order did not come out all at once but rather piece meal. First thing that came out were the French fries. Greasy, soggy and no flavor. Heard of salt?
Next to come out were the wings… more like fried bones. They were the most unappetizing wings! Even the wing sauce was not thoroughly mixed with the chicken but rather poured on like a condiment.
Now onto the sliders… just a piece of ground beef with no seasoning whatsoever. They were just plain ground beef, that’s it. The bread was stale and definitely not brioche like the menu said and the sautéed onions did not enhance the flavor. I wound up seasoning the beef myself and left the rolls, onions and other stuff aside.
Here’s what really gets me…
1. It’s an open kitchen and you have 2 line cooks bickering so the entire place can hear. They should be cleaning up the entire line as it was filthy.
2. The owner was in the place but didn’t even address us until after I identified it was him. He was nice and got to packages for us but dude where were you when we first entered the restaurant? You could have at least said hello and sat us.
3. As we were leaving the place one of the line cooks comes strolling out the back with a cig in his mouth. I hope he washed his hands after his break.
I will not be going back, EVER.

This place is starting to run itself into the ground and definitely is not at the level of cleanliness and hygiene as it once was.
First of all, without fail, my take-​out orders are ALWAYS wrong… always.
Second, their chili tasted like over salted sludge that was completely inedible… a complete waste of $ 5 (good thing i didn’t order a big size). It looked disgusting and tasted disgusting. Told it was made that day and that was clearly not true.
And worst of all, I agree with one reviewer about how disgusting it is to eat here. I too witnessed the cook using his gloved hands pick up raw chicken with one hand and WITH THE SAME HAND picked up lettuce and put it in a bowl to make my salad. For that reason alone, I really can’t go back there. And for the record, I told the manager and did not eat the salad. You would think they would correct the problem but I fear that it hasn’t been properly addressed.
I really hope management and the owners read this and clean up this problem as it is a shame to have one less kosher establishment in Teaneck that I can eat in. This review is meant to be a wake-​up call to the owners to start paying attention again to their Teaneck location.

Love this place, can’t stop raving about the food. Had the Gotham Salad and added the grilled chicken… it was excellent! My boys had the kid’s burgers with fries and they enjoyed their food. But I must say the best part of our meal was the Fried Trios (Deep-​fried Oreos). Atmosphere was simple and clean. Service was superb. Will definitely be making another visit soon!

Stopped in Wednesday for a burger. I had a plain one with just lettuce and tomatoe. The service was on the slow side and my 5 star rating is only for the burger which was excellent! I also order a small order of onion rings which were pretty greasy but good. But if you are looking for a really good handburger, look no further!

I live this place! I always have an awesome an delicious meal. Their «Burger of the Week» is always awesome!!!

The fried chicken continues to be the best kosher chicken I have ever had. The brisket sliders are also highly recommended. During my most recent trip, the restaurant was well staffed and the service was quick. I found the pricing to be very reasonable for my family of 4. They have really improved overall in recent weeks!

This was my first ever visit to Gotham Burger Co. I ordered the Gotham Burger combo and chose a seat. There was no music but they do have televisions but they weren’t on. My meal came in a rectangular shaped tray holding the burger and the vast number of french fries. The burger style is of average width but it is thick. It was a good, filling lunch. I witnessed some entertainment as a customer asked if the turkey burger is any good. What answer does he expect to hear?

Everything awesome about the UWS location, without the beer… The overwhelming presence of the support staff makes up for that though, and the burgers & chicken is always great!

It would be easy to just warn people to steer clear of Gotham Burger but that would prevent me from venting how bad this place is.
The place was not crowded when we arrived for a pre-​movie dinner. Their system involves ordering your meal from the cashier and having the food brought to your table. My friend received her bland turkey burger a full 10 minutes before mine. The fries were plentiful and good. By the time we were almost done the place was jammed with loud children and people standing right next to our table waiting for someplace to sit. One of the waiters actually asked us to get up when we were done so the next party could sit.
Thankfully, Gotham Burger is off my bucket list and hopefully this review will remove it from yours!

I went back a few months ago with a group, after talking up Gotham Burger, and it was just so bland and slow and… made me look bad. :-/​I’ll give 3 stars in case it was just an off-​day.

My experience here displayed the most disgusting form of the hospitality industry ever.
Was rushed to make my order. I atemted to order a sub and the person behind the counter sadd he didnt have it and made me order a burger then for the person directly behind me he said that they were available.
When I received my burger it was a piece of cold rubber put between a miniscule amount of vegtibles and a soggy bun the fries were no exception then were soggy and cold. then the shakes came and it tasted like bloody wiping cream with flavoring.
place was dirty (napkins all over the floor, oily tables, dirty chairs) the place was uncomfterble (mean staff, and like said before unclean)
I would not recomend to a friend, However I would recommend thsi place be taken off the map.

Ordered at my table:
Grilled chicken sandwiches, hot dogs, hamburger, fries. The ketchup on the fries tasted the best. The chicken sandwich was completely dry. There was a sauce that was sitting on the bottom of the paper, but didn’t stay on the sandwich. I didn’t taste the burger, but was told it was almost inedible. We also saw the person that was preparing the food walking around with his gloves on and touching the back of chairs while chatting loudly with people and then go back and prepare food without putting on new gloves. Gross.
