yum, yum, yum and more yum. I haven’t had Greek food in a long time and this could not have been any better. The service was OUTSTANDING. My boyfriend and I never felt rushed — they even asked us if we wanted a glass of wine, free of charge, with our dinner — not sure if this is standard, but it was really lovely. The ambiance is warm and inviting, the waitstaff and owner are very attentive without being on top of you, and the food was phenomenal. I didn’t feel we waited forever for the food, but everything tasted freshly prepared. I had moussaka with a small Greek salad and avgolemono soup. My bf had fish. It was all wonderful. We would definitely go back!

This place is wonderful! I have never been disappointed. Their food is delicious! Service with a smile. You have to try the grilled octopus and the saganaki cheese appetizer. It’s delicious. Their grilled seafood platter is so fresh. Chicken florentine is another wonderful dish. Shrimp a la Mikonos is one of my favorites. Lunch specials are great, they include coffee and rice pudding dessert. Can’t go wrong. What can I say… I love this place.

I ordered takeout from this place on a Friday afternoon for lunch and wasn’t really impressed. I don’t consider their food authentic Greek. How can you NOT have homemade tzatziki sauce on a gyro??? Also the coworkers were apparently playing a prank on the girl who took my order so I ended up getting a Greek salad but a ginormous crab/lobster looking thing in my salad. I’m all about a good prank so I took a pic and called them to explain what was in my salad. I also sent the pic to the girls phone to validate the ridiculousness. The girl quickly said they would send a new salad to me. I appreciate the promptness but damn maybe also send me a dessert or extra shrimp in my salad??? Nope that was asking for too much! Nonetheless they are ok and conveniently located near home BUT I will not order from them again!

Pretty good greek food in the Teaneck area. Has relatively fast delivery. I get very basic items and all have been good. Greek salad is good? Their pita and humus taste legit. Greek platters are super yummy and cant go wrong with musaka and greek meatballs. Service is good as well and the place ia cozy inside.

I always go here for lunch. No matter what you get, the food is dee-lish! Authentic food and great customer service. In my opinion, the lunch pricing is a tad expensive, but it clearly doesn’t stop me from coming.

Great little restaurant that could. They have amazing lunch specials. The standard fares are excellent. Their lemon potatoes, dont know real name, are delicious as are their spinach pies. Branzini is delicious of course. Everything has a nice homely feel. Food is delicious and seasoned right. I especially recommend their grilled meats. They have an amazing taste.

The only reason I gave Vasili’s 5 stars is that Unilocal doesn’t let me do 6! Been coming here for 7 years and have had damn near everything on the menu. More than once. The food is exquisite, the ambiance is adorable, the service is warm and efficient, and the check is a fair deal every time. Never had anything but a great meal here — lunch or dinner — and over 7 years, they’ve had over 300 chances to disappoint me. Never did. The more I go to other restaurtants, the more I come back to Vasilis’s.

I like this place. Went for lunch with a large group. Food was good, service was quick, and prices are reasonable. I’ll go back when I’m in the neighborhood.

Had lunch there today, Me and my other half both had pitas, can’t remember the name but the ones with chunks of meet, not gyros, I had lamb him pork. They were delish, my only complaint was a smidgen too much tiziki sauce, meant for a bit of a sloppy eat. The fries were amazing and everything was really really filling. Both the waiter and waitress were really nice, I voiced my opinion on the sauce and she said she would take take the comment to the chef, and understood where I was coming from. Staff were attentive but not overbearing. The décor made it feel like we were at someone’s greek grandmother’s hiuse for lunch. I would definitely recommend

Decent Greek place in Teaneck where options are limited. It’s never really busy both times I have been there, even at lunch time. It’s a-ok in my book. I’ve had the lamb and the chicken gyro. Both were tasty, but the winner was the lamb. The chicken is giant chicken nugget size chunks that are a little dry and a bit too burnt-ish flavor. I wouldn’t get that again. The pita and regular bread you get beforehand is pretty great. The fries are also delicious. I had their yankee bean soup the other day and it was delicious. My wife got the chicken lemon soup and it was ok, different, but just kinda chicken soup. Overall pretty good, nothing amazing but a solid lunch spot with some good lunch specials. Service is pretty good, not blow your mind but they’re attentive enough. I’ll be back.

Everything was delicious and the servers were attentive. The prices were higher than I was prepared for and compared to equal quality Greek food in the area. Its a white table cloth restaurant and I have a 3 yr old so I wouldn’t go there again with her in the immediate future. I ordered soup but it was never brought to the table. I didn’t remember until I got home but i knew something was missing.

This is one of our favorites. Vasili’s Taverna offers really good Greek food with friendly service. The restaurant is BYOB – so be prepared if you would like wine with dinner. I have had a number of their dishes. My favorites include the calf liver, pastitsio, and souvlaki. My favorite sides include the oven roasted potatoes and Greek village salad, which is fairly authentic. Parking is on the back; alternatively, one can park in metered spaces up front if available.

I was looking for a lunch stop and I let Unilocal do my choosing for me. We ended up at Vasili’s Taverna. What an awesome discovery! The first thing that needs to be said is that the fries here are incredible. These could probably be the best fries I’ve ever had. Super crispy on the outside and sizzling on the inside. I could almost describe them as juicy. They had such a great flavor. The interior is very Mediterranean, which I guess is to be expected from a Greek place. Clean space with lots of white and blue and those fake windows with shutters that open to painted scenes from what I assume is Greece. Very summery and pleasant. My entrée was essentially a gyro with a beef patty in it. It was good but nothing to write home about. The pita bread served before however was a winner. Warm and lightly seasoned served with a side of dip. To close, I will definately come here again. Try the fries.

I love me some Greek food and when I heard we were going for greek on mothers day I was super excited. The location of this restaurant is a little tricky but once in the back of the building there is a private lot to park. They also have some nice outdoor seating for a nice sunny day. The place is BYOB which is awesome. The service was ok, I found it hard to get the waitress’ attention a lot. They bring out free humus with toasted break and warm pitas when you sit down. It was really tasty. For appetizer we ordered a large Greek salad for the table, fried zucchini and eggplant that was served with what I seemed to be mashed potatoes… it was odd but good non the less. We also ordered tziki for the table that came with toasted pitas. For dinner I went outside my comfort zone and ordered a stuffed fillet of sole with crab meat stuffing and it came with one stuffed with spinach and cheese. I was not crazy about the spinach one but the crab meat was delicious. My boyfriend ordered the swordfish along with 2 sides he chose peas and Greek fries that are amazing. The rest of the table ordered the whole bronzini which is a Mediterranean fish delicately prepared. They all loved it. When it came time for dessert we ordered our coffees and our Greek frappes it was very hard to pick a dessert being they were very basic. I ended up getting the semolina cake that had a light lemon flavor to it and was drizzled with syrup. My boyfriend ordered the yogurt with peaches(they were canned) it was just ok. No one ordered the baklava which I was surprised about being we were at a Greek restaurant. I can’t wait to come back and try a gyro platter and other Greek delights.

I am a huge fan of Greek food and a recent trip to Vasili’s did not disappoint. The dining room here is tiny-definitely make a reservation before you go! It’s BYOB and conveniently there is a liquor store across the street from the restaurant. Inside Vasilis, the dining room is cozy and has paintings of blue shuttered windows with picturesque Greek scenery on the walls. A basket of pita, bread and hummus was brought to the table. We enjoyed the creamy hummus and warm pita with garlic. I ordered the mousaka for dinner which came with a generous portion of Greek salad. The mousaka was delicious – the bechamel on top was creamy and fulfilled my desire for a warm dish on a cool evening. The Greek salad was packed with onions, tomatoes and feta with a refreshing vinaigrette. I would definitely return to this charming local eatery for more Greek delicacies!

We were impressed with this Unilocal directed pick. We came in on a busy Saturday night without reservations and luckily got a table due to a cancellation. Definitely make a reservation for the weekends considering the Vasili’s does not have a huge dining room. First off, any place that offers free pita bread with a small portion of hummus to start the meal wins in my opinion. The pita was warm, toasted nicely, and had a hint of garlic. We ordered the zucchini croquettes as an appetizer, which were okay, but our entrees were much more delicious. I ordered the chicken souvlaki which was tenderly cooked and accompanied by a huge portion of Greek salad, crispy french fries, pita, and tzatziki sauce. I tasted my sister’s savory moussaka dish that would satisfy anyone’s desire for comfort food. For an added bonus, Vasili’s is a BYOB. Vasili’s is a great local find for anyone looking for a filling Greek meal!
