It ain’t the Ritz, but if you want a cheap, clean place to stay in Tehachapi, this place is all right. Owners let you see the rooms before you commit. Nice roses by the rooms, new windows, older rooms, but they are clean. Towels are thin and TV is old and small, but free cable and wifi make up for that. Bed was comfy. Close the window if you don’t want to hear the train. Hotel within walking distance of museum and good restaurants.

After looking into the rates at other motels, this one wasn’t bad. $ 63/a night for two, and it was very clean! The rooms were warm, the door locked sufficiently, and aside from it being a little old, this motel was great! There was a fridge, tv, walk in shower. Very nice!

Nope. Drove up and from the outside it looked just like the other 2 small drive up motels that I checked out in this town. I never went in, but I did see a slimy little dude outside and a nice little fenced off little area of garbage. The bf said this place got solid ‘good’ reviews on another site, but frankly, as the person who actually entered the other 2 similar motels in the area in the same price range, I have to veto his opinion and say — NOPE. Don’t bother. Oh, and I tried multiple times to make an actual reservation and either I was calling too far in advance(3 weeks???) or, 3DAYS prior while I was on a road trip with limited/no internet access, I had to email with my credit card and vehicle information!!! Huh? WTF??? Total bummer. The bf and I usually prefer the quaint little drive-up motels, but this town was 0 for 3 for us! Yuck!
